PDCC#83 "A Sweet Farewell"

Inspiration photo

Hi there!

I hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Day holiday weekend.  Thank you to all the vets out there!  It's truly a blessing to live in this country!  Last night I made a card to honor sweet Sarah Anderson who is leaving PDCC. I stamped the background with three different flowers from Close to My Heart(Dreams Come True) collection.  I must tell ya my little enabler friend,  Nancy, asked me to go to a Close to My Heart party.   And, of course, yep you guessed it I couldn't help but order the stamps we used at the party!:-)  I think these flowers make for a lovely background.  I added some black satin ribbon, border punch, and pearls.  The sentiment is also from the collection.

I always enjoyed looking at Sarah's wonderful creations.  I truly admire her sense of color and style!  I wish the best for you Sarah!  Good luck to you on your new adventure of working at the art cafe!

PDCC#82-Friends

A closer view of card
The lovely soft color inspiration photo

Hello!

Well, I am finally posting this card for the PDCC#82.  I spent all evening trying different things on this card.  I nearly gave up and trashed it!  Whew, I thought OK, let's try one more time.  I just had a difficult time incorporating the light blue for some reason.  I added my aqua copic marker to the middle of the flowers, distress ink(broken china and antique linen) to the frame, and blue gems.  Also, I added antique linen distress ink to soften up the blue paper.  So, I'm glad I didn't end up trashing this card.  The soft colors for this challenge are just too beautiful to resist for a shabby card!  Time for lunch here and to enjoy some lovely sunny skies!  Take care and enjoy your weekend!  Thanks for visiting!

RCC2-Shabby-Happy Birthday!

Hi there!

Wow, I miss being here!  I haven't had much time this week to play in my craft room.  Work was very busy this week.  Yesterday was great weather...now today...not so great.  But, that's OK 'cause instead of planting more flowers I had fun creating a card.  I found a new challenge blog over at Ribbon Carousel.  It is only their second challenge.  This week the theme is "Shabby".  One has to add all those "shabby goodies" such as ribbon, lace, seam binding, twine, which could be anything that comes on a spool.  I used my new Hero Arts stamp and colored their dresses with colored pencils.  I inked up the image, lace, and label with Antique Linen distress ink.  Added some seam binding, pearl cotton, and a lovely pin.  Thanks for looking and adding any comments because it's very appreciated!  Take care and have a great week!

Happy Birthday!

Here's the beautiful inspiration photo.

Happy Friday!

I hope all of you are doing well on this fine Friday afternoon!  Wish I could say it's another lovely sunny day, but ummmm...no...it's raining again...sigh.  Oh well,  yesterday we had a gorgeous sunny day!  It was a "no coat" day even...yeah!  Anyways, lovely weather will soon return I'm sure.  Ok, now about the challenge this week over at The Play Date Cafe.  Such a pretty inspiration photo for sure!  These colors reminded me of some Cosmo Cricket papers that I had.  It got me thinking summer.  It also got me thinking several birthday cards I need to make this month.:-)  I distressed the edges and did a little sewing on the corners for interest.  I used several different patterns.  And, what about the little chick, isn't that the cutest?!  I just had to add some bling to the birthday hat and some bling around the birthday sentiment.  I finished the card with some lovely SU ribbon I had.  Thanks for looking and adding any comments!  Take care and have a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day!

A lovely image of Mother and daughter!

Hi there!

Happy early Mother's Day to all you Mothers out there!  Enjoy your special day this Sunday with family!  This card is for City Crafter Challenge #54.  My Mom loves flowers, especially roses.  So, it wasn't difficult to know what to make the focus of this card.  I used the embossing folder Manhattan Flower from Stampin' Up.  I inked up the edges of rose, doily, and ribbon with Antique Linen.  I made use of some fabulous felt from PTI.  I used my pinking shears for the edges.  Whenver I use the pinking shears, I think of Mom.  She always made sure to tell us to pink the edges when sewing, so things do not fray.:-)  Sweet memories!  I finished off the card with pearls, hearts, lace, and ribbon.  Thank you for looking and adding any comments!  Enjoy Mother's Day....take care!:-)
