PDCC92 Let's Celebrate!

Another View.

Welcome!

How are you doing on this beautiful Sunday?  Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Just wanted to share with you a card I made for the The Play Date Cafe.  The challenge colors this week are so lovely!  I was inspired by the gorgeous dress in the photo.  I wanted some dimension on the skirt and needed to find the right color.  I came across a flower that I tore apart and put it around the dress form.  The dress form looked bare on top until I place a piece of wide gold ribbon and added pearls.  I distressed the card base with worn lipsitck. And antique linen was added to the dress form.  Well, I better make this short because it's dinner time.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Take care and have a wonderful week, hugs!:-))

Jake Owen/Keith Urban

Jake Owen

Keith Urban

We had such a great time last night at the concert watching Keith Urban!  I thought I'd share a few pics here.  He is a great guy with amazing talent!  Jake Owen opened the show for him.  Needless to say, he was easy on the eyes too!!!:-)  Jake sings, Don't Think I Can't Love You." and "Barefoot Blue Jean Night".  Those two are my favs from him.  Keith at one point had a gal come up on stage and sing the song, "Kiss a Girl" with him.  I think I would have fainted right then and there!  But, she did well!  A few favorite songs of Keith's are "You Look Good in My Shirt", "You'll Think of Me", and Making Memories of Us".  He walked through the audience twice.  He had us sing with him on several songs.  He wore a Toledo hockey Walleye shirt and gave that away.  He even signed a guitar and gave that to a very surprised girl in the audience!  It was a great show filled with lots of fun and rockin' music!  Hope you are enjoying your weekend!  Take care and hugs!:-))

My Girly/Frilly Card

A closer view.

Photo inspiration

Thanks so much for taking time to view my card today!  Hope you are having a good week! TGIF!  It's time for another challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room.  I knew the perfect background paper to use for this card.  It is from Crate Paper.  Such pretty little roses!  So, this is my girly frilly card.  When I finished the card, I thought uh oh is this too over the top girly/frilly? :-)  But, that's what I love about shabby cards.  It gives me a chance to add all the fun girly things such as trim, doilies, buttons, ribbon, and gems!  And, it's fun experimenting and learning at the same time.  I hand sewed the trim around the card.  The doily was distressed with antique linen and added pearl cotton.  I added tulle behind the doily.  Gems, buttons, and ribbon placed to finish off the card.  Well, I better scoot here.  I need to clean the house and prepare some food for dinner tonight before the concert.  We are going to see Keith Urban with my sister and brother-in-law.  I am so looking forward to it!  Thanks for visiting here today, take care, hugs!:-))

You're in My Thoughts

We have a gal at work who is on the road to recovery.  We are not sure when she'll return to work, but hope it'll be within the next few weeks.  I saw this darling stamp yesterday while shopping at Hobby Lobby.  I couldn't resist coloring those sweet little mice.  I colored the mice with an ink marker and a blender pen.  I'm sure I'll be using this stamp again!  Well, I'm making this post short and sweet today.  I'm off to the grocery store.  Thanks for viewing my card today!  Take care, hugs!:-))

TSTR Week #71-'So Charming'

Another view.
Inspiration photo.

Hope you all are doing well!  We finally got some relief from the very HOT weather!  We had some thunder storms this morning.  It was actually quite nice to walk outside to put a card in the mailbox!  I have another card today for the challenge at The Shabby Tea Room.  I just wanna reach out and grab that pretty little bracelet from the inspiration photo!  I thought, OK,  I think I have some charms laying around in my stash.  And, I just received some "happy" mail yesterday from PTI and was "happy dancin" when I opened up the musical stamps...la la la!  Ok...I'll stop...lol!  Anyways, I distressed the piano and sentiment with antique linen.  I also used antique distress stickles for the pedals, music folder, and legs of the piano. I prettied up some flowers, added a border, pearls, ribbon, and a little piano charm.  Well, off to do my Saturday chores!  Thanks so much for visiting here today!  Take care and have a great weekend, hugs!:-))

PDCC#90 -Thank You

And a close up view.

Welcome Back!

It's time again for another card challenge at The Play Date Cafe.  Such bright fun colors this week!  This thank you card is for a co-worker who helped me with some training at work.  She is so sweet and patient.  So, I thought I'll just make her a card.  Isn't it great to get your "crafty side" on to brighten someone's day to thank them?!:-))

I tried to go with the sun idea for this card while looking at the inspiration photo.  The sun  is actually a doily from my cricut(lovely floral) cartridge.  The sun/doily and gold paper was distressed with Ranger(spiced marmalade) ink.  I used a die from MFT for the scallop border.  The friend stamp is also from MFT.  It's a perfect stamp for my sweet co-worker/friend.  Thank you for visiting here!  Take care and have a great weekend, hugs!

CR84FN 33-Wishing You

Another view of the card.
A close up view.
And the inside of the card.

Hi there!

I finished up a card for one of my favorite color challenges over at CR84FN33.  It was a great opportunity to make an anniversary card for my sister.  I used one of my favorite Hero Arts stamps and got out a copic marker to color the hearts on the butterfly.  I cut the flower from K&Company paper.  Some lace was placed behind the butterfly.  I used some glitter dots and placed them on the heart trim and bow.  And some pretty red and pink pearls to finish off the card.  I hope you are enjoying your week.  Take care and thanks so much for visiting today, hugs!

PDCC #89- Thanks So Much

A closer view of my card.

Hi there!

I relaxed in my craft room last night after a busy work week.  Crafting gives so much enjoyment by getting your mind off of things and just letting the creative energy flow into a card.  Don't you think?!:-)  Anyways, I had fun making this card for the challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.  I didn't have any light green mint paper, so I went more bright.  The closest I had for mint was this paper from Basic Grey.  I wasn't going to post this card, but I am happy with it even though it has brighter colors than the challenge colors.  I couldn't resist using the Martha Stewart flower and border punch. So Saffron ink was added to the border and ribbon.  To fninsh off my card I added a mint button, pearls, and some sewing.  Well, I better scoot and get some work done around here.  Have a lovely weekend and take care, hugs!:-))
