Happy Fall!

Gorgeous fall colors!

Happy Fall!

Hi friends!  It's a perfect fall day here in NW Ohio!  As soon as I post this, I'm going out for a walk.  Don't you love fall?  I sure do!  It's a welcome relief from those hot humid summer days.

What a lovely color challenge over at  The Play Date Cafe, Happy 100th!!!.   I'm also entering this card over at Crafts 4 eternity.  I chose to use the pumpkin and leaf stamps from Lawn Fawn.  I colored the pumpkin with a yellow copic marker first and then with orange.  A touch of the yellow color shone through on certain areas.  I added a dimensional behind the pumpkin. I used the leaf stamps for the borders.  I used my cricut machine for the fall letters.  Twine was added and placed just so.  Gems and border trim added to finish off the card.  Thanks so much for stopping here today!  Hope you enjoy your fall day, take care and hugs!!:-))

Vintage Halloween

Love having a pair of owls out at Halloween time.

Hi Friends!

Just another Halloween card that I worked on in my craft room.  This card is for the challenge at The Shabby Tea Room.  We were to make a monochromatic card using white/cream or the colors kraft, black, or brown.  This card was fairly easy to make since the colors were limited.  I think I need to make more monochromatic cards!:-))  I'll most likely be back again some time this weekend to post another card.  But, for now more laundry awaits.  Take care and thanks for stopping by, hugs!!:-))

Happy Halloween!

Hi Friends!

I'm beginning to see pumpkins here and there.  Yes, it's nearly October and time for Halloween.  So, I made a quick card using one of the new scallop dies from MFT.  A cute glittery pumpkin from K&Comapny.  I can hardly wait to pick up some pumpkins to decorate outside.  I'm already feeling the cool crisp air of autumn.  Well,  I have plenty of things to catch up on around here, so a quick post for now.  Hope you are enjoying your day!  Thanks for stopping here today, take care, hugs!!:-))

Hi Again!

Another posting for today.  I'll make this quick since I need to make a cherry cheesecake for my son.  Thursday was his birthday and we are getting together and celebrating tonight!  Ok, this card is for my friend, Nancy.  We always find things such as stamps or paper, etc. when we are out shopping and we buy for each other.  She recently gave me some goodies. So, I made this card for her.  I just love the Pure Innocence images.  Talk about TOO SWEET, I think they are!  Thanks for taking a peek here today, take care and hugs!!:-))

Birthday Greetings

The challenge is for  The Shabby Tea Room
The theme this week is to make a masculine card.

Greetings!

How are you all doing?  I hope all is well in your little world!    It is a beautiful fall crisp day here with a temp of 61 degrees F.  I just finished eating lunch and visiting with my Mom.  I went for a walk and enjoyed watching the little squirrels gather nuts.  The leaves are just starting to turn.  I love this time of year!:-)  Ok, on to my card.  Masculine cards are difficult to make.  But, I was up for the challenge. This card is for my brother-in-law.  See me in the car with pig tails?!lol   I knew what paper to use.  And, men like cars, right?  So, I was half there in making a card.  I layered and layered, added stars, and metal dots.  I distressed the edges and used a silver gel pen on the stars.  The brown buttons fit perfectly to finish off the card.  Thanks so much for visiting here today!  Whatever you do I hope you have a great weekend, take care!!:-))

Happy Anniversary!

A closer peek...
Inspiration photo of wedded bliss...

Good Morning!

How you all doing today on this fine Saturday?!  I had a good night's rest after a creative night in the craft room.  My craft room is a mess, so now I need to tidy it up.  Wouldn't it be nice to have a craft fairy to do that for ya?:-)  Ok, anyways....I'm here today posting a card for one of my favorite challenges, The Shabby Tea Room.   Lovely photo inspirations!  The colors for my wedding were pink also.  So, tell me how many years have you been married?  My husband and I have been married for 32 yr.  Yes, I married at 12...lol!  Seriously, the years have flown by.  My husband is a gentleman and very supportive.  I wouldn't trade him for anyone!

OK, I'm off to clean up my craft mess.  Thanks for taking a peek today!  Have a wonderful weekend, take care!!:-))

Let's Celebrate!

The darling inspiration photo!
Another view.
I learned a very valuable tip on Sherry Cheever's blog on how to color seam binding.  Just click on tutorials at the top of her blog and you will find the video.  She has many tutorials.  She's an amazing creative lady!

So, I couldn't resist making a card for the City Crafter Challenge.  We were to make a project using a dress form or dress.  Isn't that an adorable little girl all dressed up in the inspiration photo?!  I paper pieced the dresses and added belts.  I braided the pink belt with pearl cotton and gold thread.  For the yellow dress, I folded wide ribbon in half and tied pearl cotton in the center.  I inked  edges with tea dye ink.  Ok, want another tip?  Well, of course ya do!:-)  I didn't have any yellow pearls, so I used a pale pink pearl and used my yellow copic marker to color it yellow.  I tell ya those copic markers are the best!  I wish I could remember where I learned that little trick from, but sorry I don't recall.

I hope you all are enjoying your holiday weekend!  It is a good day today to stay indoors and do some cleaning.  We had a big temperature drop today.  It's only 61 F degrees and cloudy.  Last night we enjoyed the cooler weather and kept warm around the camp fire.  We used to go camping quite a bit, but sold our camper a few years ago.  But, one of the fun things we always enjoyed was sitting around the camp fire and making cherry pies.  We made cherry pies last night and they were so yummy!  We even saw a few fireworks off in the distance where apparently people were celebrating.  A holiday weekend is a celebration to me!:-)  Ok, I think I wrote a book here.  And, I need to scoot to get some things done.  Take care and thanks so much for visiting, hugs!!:-))

November Friends

Hello Frends!

Whew, it seems as if I haven't been here in ages!  I certainly didn't mean it to be that way.  My work, etc. gets in the way of my card making.  Anyways, I had a great time relaxing and creating this card last evening for the The Shabby Tea Room challenge.  It's a card for my sis-in-law.  Her birthday is in November just one day before mine.  And, this year her birthday is on 11-11-11.  I think she needs to play the lottery on that day!:-)  My birthstone, Topaz was not one that I cared for when growing up.  But, I do like the color yellow.  I find myself making several cards using that lovely color.  I really enjoyed this challenge this week because it gave me an opportunity to see each other's birthdays in the gallery...so fun!  Take care and have a great holiday weekend!  Thanks so much for visiting here today!!:-))
