Vacation time...

Hi friends! Am away on vacation, but I have been checking out blogs here and there. It's so ironic for the weather here in Key West to be cooler than back home. And, a nasty storm came through that left so many without power. My son was able to go to my sis-in- law's house who happens to have power. I just hope power is restored soon, but it may take several more days yet. I believe it went up the east coast, too. As far as I know, our house is still in one piece! My heart and prayers go out to all who are dealing with this unfortunate situation and terrible heat! Anyways, I've been taking beautiful sunset pics and plan to share when I return home. Yesterday we were sitting out on our balcony deck and spotted an interesting character....a lizard! We got some sweet pics of him! The food is delicious...fresh fish. We had hog fish, which is very good! It is a fish in which they have to spear because it doesn't go for bait. We snorkeled today and saw striped fish and a yellow\blue fish. I'm not used to being out in the sun...so yep...am sunburned...ouch! But, I do love the water and it was fun! OK...that's all for now. I do miss crafting, but am enjoying looking at your blogs! Thanks for dropping by, hugs!

Love...

LOVE...
I couldn't resist entering the challenge over at
the The Shabby Tea Room!  I just couldn't
because just feast your eyes on this
gorgeous inspiration photo!  I mean talk
about BLING!!!  That bridal bouquet
is absolutely stunning!
Ok...here is the inspiration photo...
A closer view of my card...

As you can see, I added all sorts of bling on my
card.  First, I adhered silver glass glitter to a
Tattered Angels frame.  It was placed over
the sentiment, which was on top of a
silver doily.  The bow was made with sheer
ribbon and seam binding ribbon for
fullness and interest.  On the center of the bow,
a gem brad, roses, and a string of pearls.
The background was embossed and sewing
along the edges to finish off the card.
Please stop over to the Shabby Tea Room
to see all the gorgeous creations!  You
will not be disappointed!  Thanks so much
for visiting here today, take care!

Go Coconuts!

Hi Friends!

Just thought I'd share a card with you that I made for my sister's birthday.  Her
daughter and daughter-in-laws are hosting a luau themed bday party to celebrate her
50th birthday!  When my other sis turned 40, this sis now turning 50 gave her a
grass skirt and a coconut bra for her bday!  So, it's always been the joke to wear a
coconut bra to celebrate your bday...hehehe!  Anyways, I love the MFT images,
especially the Pure Innocence line.  I knew this image would be perfect for her
bday card.  I so admire Jodi Collins expertise with these sweet images, so I cased
a card on her blog, Stamping A Latte.  Wouldn't you love to be in Hawaii
right now?  The weather here seems tropical to me...so so hot...in the 90's.  I believe
tomorrow the weather will cool down...yeah!  Stay cool and take care, hugs!

Shabby Beautiful!

Hi there Friends!

I am very honored and excited to be the guest designer this week over at
The Shabby Tea Room!  I was awarded this great opportunity due to my win for the challenge on week #106.  The theme this week is "Shabby Beautiful"!  Debbie is the host this week and were to use the colors PINK, AQUA, neutrals, flowers, and make it SHABBY!

Here is the lovely inspiration photo to get those creative juices flowing...
I got my inspiration from the lovely tea cups and gorgeous flowers!  I stamped the tea cup
image onto musin fabric and adhered it to chipboard.  It was placed over roses that were
fussy cut.  A lovely Tattered Angels frame is behind the roses for added dimension.
Doily, lace, and buttons along the bottom of the card for more interest.  Some yummy
seam binding from Deb's Simple Treasures was placed to finish off the card.

Paper:  Cosmo Cricket
Stamp:  Tea Cup(Waltzing Mouse and sentiment)

You're My Cup of Tea!

Inspiration Photo...

Hi Friends!

How are you?  I haven't entered a challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room in quite awhile,
so I thought I'd give it a whirl!  It is indeed one sweet challenge!  We were to use the colors
teal or aqua, pink, and brown.  Go over and check out all the divine inspiration from the design team!  You will not be disappointed!!

I have been posting cards on my iPad, but thought I'd try on my husband's laptop.  It just
seems easier on the laptop.

Anyways, this card was fairly easy to put together.  I just love the digital image of the tea cup!  I sponged it with ink and colored the tiny flowers and leaves.  And, I am not ashamed that I got out the magnifying glass to assist me...hehehe!  Don't those chocolates look yummy?!  Well, I got hungry for chocolate and made some brownies...mmm!  But, I didn't frost them, so that's good for my diet, isn't it?!:-)

Well, thanks so much for dropping by today!  Whatever ya do today hope ya have fun, take care!

Let's Celebrate!

Hi there!

How are things with you?  I hope things are going well in your world!

I thought I'd ink up one of my favorite stamps for a summer birthday card.  Just love this
butterfly stamp with hearts!  It was easy to choose the colors of yellow, orange, and green.
I had some gingham paper to match.  Gems on the butterflies and little wire antenae.  Polka
dot ribbon to finish off the card.

Have you seen any good movies lately?  We saw Men in Black III last weekend.  It was a good one!  I especially enjoyed the bowling scene!  I won't give anything else away.  But, anyways, it was a great movie!

I wanted to also share a pic of a little cardinal I saw today under the bird feeder, but didn't get a good pic.  We have a family that we often see.  This morning I saw a bright red cardinal on the table on the deck this morning.  I moved to get the camera and he flew off.  We've seen the mother about at various times in the yard.  If and when I do get a good pic, I will post it on here.:-)  Take care and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Thanks!

Hi Again!

How are you doing today? I' m doing well here. I'm still wishing I had my computer all repaired, but at least I have my IPad to share with you cards that I've made recently. This is my second post today. This card is for my co-worker's wife who was kind enough to make soup and salad for us for nurse's day last month. She has also made peanut butter pie and butterscotch cake recently for bday potlucks! I mean talk about a fabulous cook and baker she wins the blue ribbon without a doubt! So, I made a card for everyone at work to sign. I knew I had to use some Melissa Frances paper with little pies and cakes on it! I added some sparkly embossing powder to give the effect of frosting. I had lots of fun making this card with it being so girly! Thanks again for dropping by, take care!

You're So Sweet!

Hi Friends!

Hope all is well with you! I'm back again to share with you a card I made. I wanted to make a thank you card for my boss. I haven't used this cute stamp set in awhile, so I thought I would ink it up. The card base is an old hospital card that my boss was
going to throw away. In fact, she gave me a whole box. Recycle you say? Oh...yes!!! I think those bees are so cute! And, I added little gems to their busy little bodies!:). Ok, I'm going to try to post another card yet tonight. Take care and thanks for dropping by!
