Valentines...

Baby afghan for great niece, Elizabeth.

Sweet Valentines for great nieces, Alayna, Allison,
 and Elizabeth.

Hi there!

How are you doing today?  I finally mailed out a project
that took me far too long to finish.  My great niece,
Elizabeth, was born several months ago.  And, I finally
mailed out the afghan to her along with cute little CAS
Valentines for her and her sisters.  I can't remember when
I made a card so simple, but I did want to get them out in
the mail today.  I came up with this simple design and put
a little something inside for their piggy banks.  They live
in Michigan and I don't often see the little darlings.  I'm
sure they will have lots of fun on Valentine's Day!

My cards were so easy to make with Bazzill white base.
I used SU heart punch, pearls from Queen&Company, and
twine from Doodlebug.  I can't tell ya how relieved I was
when I mailed this package today...hehehe!  I have
another niece that is due in May with a boy.  Yikes,
I better get started on another afghan to finish it in time!

Well, that's it for now.  Thank you for viewing the afghan
and cards I made!  Hope you are having fun with your
crafts!  Take care and have a wonderful week, hugs!

  9. Aw, love your heartfelt projects, Maria! The baby blanket is really beautiful. Reminds me of a personal story: my beloved grandmother loved to crochet (never knew how to knit, though), and when I found out I was pregnant with baby #1, I asked her for a white baby blanket. She loved using crazy colors all the time, but I specified white and even bought the yarn for her. It was the end of January, and I was due at the end of May. She had not even begun the blanket, and then she died in her sleep. I was crestfallen. My great aunt (my grandmother's sister) took the yarn and crocheted the blanket, which she presented to me at my baby shower. Very touching.

I know your blanket will be appreciated too! And the monetary gifts...well, those never go out of style. ;)
