New Home...Sweet Baby

Hi there!

Hope all of you in the states are enjoying a very relaxing Labor Day weekend!  We are just having a quiet weekend and doing things around the house.  As I'm typing this, my husband is getting my fall decorations from the attic.  It's time to bring out the pumpkins and decorate!:-)

Last night I stayed up late and did some cleaning and organizing in my craft room.  Isn't it fun to find things that have been neglected?:-)  So, I put these alphas to good use on this card for our friends who recently moved.  I got out my Doodlebug paper again, which was used recently on my owl card.  I couldn't resist using it for it has those cute colorful houses on it.  I added a border stamp from Paper Sweeties from the stamp set Borders.  I knew the card needed a little more something.  I tried little leaves, but they were too much of a distraction.  The border stamp was just what it needed for the final touch.

My next card is for my niece who is due with her little boy, Jax, in October.  Her baby shower is next weekend.  I'm looking forward to seeing her and little Gabriel.  They live in Phoenix, so it's not often that we see them.

For my card I got out a stamp set that I haven't used in awhile from Pink Persimmon.  It's a sweet little set.  I tried my best to keep it soft and light.  I'm still not sure I like it as well as other baby cards that I've done.  But, I do like the little clothes on the clothes line.:-)  The card was simple to put together with banners, twine, and pearls.  Just a tad of stitching at the top of the banners for added interest.

Ok, friends that's all for now.  Thanks so much for dropping by, hugs!

  1. Wonderful card for the new homeowners. Love your border and the house paper is so cute.

The baby card is adorable with that clothesline, clothes, and pins. It's hard when family lives so far away, isn't it? I'm sure it will be good to see them.

  9. What cute cards, Maria! I love that border you stamped on the house card--it is perfect with the dashes in the roads on the paper. And, the baby card is gorgeous! I love the vintage look with the faded dp and soft stamping, and the little bit of zigzag sewing in the corner looks great. I can never remember to sew small areas, and it is such a great look.

  14. I'm kind of itching to get out my autumn decorations, too. I need to rely upon the family for bringing everything down from the attic. So...I guess when they have time, that's when I'll decorate! LOL

Love both these cards, and they're each so different. The baby clothes hanging out to dry are SO cute!
