Travel...

Theme:  sentiment as the focal point

Hi there!

TGIT!  My weekend started today since I worked the past three days.  And, I'm happy to say that I had a chance to play in my craft room this evening.  I did some water coloring and came up with this card for the City Crafter Challenge...

I started with white card stock and added a black panel under the water colored panel.  I used inks from MFT.  A drop of ink on my craft mat and added water to my brush and applied it to the water color paper.  After I was done with the water coloring, the edges needed to be touched up.  My distress marker came in handy with added water.  It was a surprise to me how it added a nice frame.  And, I'm quite pleased with it.  I think I'll need to do more water coloring to get the same effect again.:-)

Well, friends, that's all for now.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to drop by!

Hugs,
Maria

A Celebration of Love...

Hi Friends!

Just popping in quick to share with you a card that I made this evening.  We have a wedding to go to next weekend, so I made the above card.  It was fun getting out some shimmery paper, dies, ribbon, and lace for this elegant creation.  Here is a peek of the inside of the card...

I used Spellbinder's Lacy Square dies, SU birds and heart.  Listed below is a complete supply list.  Not sure what's on the agenda for the weekend yet.  I know my son and husband will be finishing up the front door putting the finishes touches of staining on it.

Last weekend we went to an Ohio State game.  And, they played very well...yeah...Go Bucks!:-)  It was alumni day and the bands were top notch!

After the game, we met up with our son, Randy's sister, and Mom.  We celebrated Randy's Mom's birthday.  It was a long busy day, but filled with fun!

Ok, friends, that's all for now.  Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Maria

Thank you...

Hi there!

First of all, I want to comment on that it's a day of memory for those we have lost in regards to 9-11.  Thoughts and prayers are with the families.  May God bless our country and we thank all those who serve to help protect us and keep us safe!  Thank you!

Now onto my card...

I started with a white base and stamped the diagonal background with a new stamp, Studio G.  The bird stamp is from Hero Arts, which is new also.  I used distress inks on the bird and added an enamel dot for the eye.  The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  All items on the card have never been used before.  Yeah!  This challenge helps me to find things in my craft room to use!  It's a great idea that Darnell has come up with this fun challenge.  So, I'm entering this card over at Darnell's NBUS Challenge!  I'm sure I'll be checking out her challenge again soon...thank you, Darnell!
Take care and have a great weekend!

Maria

Hi there!

Happy Friday to you!  I saw the challenge over at City Crafter Challenge and thought I'd join in on the fun!  I love the inspiration photo with those sweet colorful butterflies!  For the challenge, we are to use vellum, glossy accents, acrylic, or clear items.  I used vellum and glossy accents for my creation.

Here is my card...

For my card, I started with a cream card base and paired it with MME papers.  I die cut the label and covered it with vellum.  The butterflies were punched and covered with vellum and gems added.  I stamped the butterfly and added glossy accents.  And, for the final touch of vellum a flourish was die cut.  Lastly, gorgeous sheer ribbon given to me by Greta was tied in a bow with button and twine.  Thank you, Greta...love this ribbon!:-)

Well, that's all for now.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Take care!

Hugs,

Thankful for you...

Hi there,

Just thought I'd pop in quick to share a card with you that I made for the The Mixed Media Card Challenge.  Such pretty colors of the leaves in the inspiration photo!  The leaves here in NW Ohio are just beginning to change.  Fall is one of my favorite times of year.  I love the cooler temps and the lovely fall foliage!

And, here is my card...

I started with a kraft card base and added black.  I got out my Tim Holtz distress inks and sponged on colors of squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, rusty hinge, and barn door.  I sprayed it with water and let it dry.  The leaves were stamped with StazOn ink.  It is my favorite new fall stamp set from Precious Remembrance!  The leaves look so real...don't you think?  I distressed the cheese cloth and sentiment with antique linen.  Black thread for interest and dimension for the final touch.  Well, back to my laundry and getting out my fall decorations.  Hope you have a wonderful day...take care!

Hugs,
Maria
