Happy Wishes...

Hi there!

I'm just popping in quick to show you a card I made with water coloring.  I'm entering this card over at Simon Says.  The challenge theme is Anything Goes.  I'm also entering this card over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge where the theme is spring blooms.

I think if I keep practicing I might be happy with my water color results!:-)  I do have to say that I love Penny Black images for water coloring.  I water colored the first layer and let it dry.  And, I went back for the second medium layer and then for the final darker color allowing each to dry.  It seemed to help a lot to get the varying shades.  It took awhile to water color, but it was worth it.  The water colors I used are the Gansai water colors...love them!

A closer view...

Ok, that's all for now.  Please come back tomorrow for my Paper Sweeties Easter card!
Take care and have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Maria

Hi there!

Just a reminder for the Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge!  Just one more day left to enter.  You can be inspiration by the colors, photo, or whatever you desire!  The winner of the challenge will receive a $20 gift certificate and will be the guest designer for the following month!  Make any project and join in on the fun!

Today, I'd like to share with you an Easter treat project I made for the guys in my family that love Reece's, malted milk balls, and Butterfinger candies...mmm!  I made up these treat bags and made a little tag using Paper Sweeties products.  And, here is one of the treat bags...

For the tag, I used the stamp set Stitched Tags #1 and the coordinating die, which is Sweet Cuts-Stitched Tags #1.  The basket and sentiments is from the stamp set Jelly Bean Time.  Ribbon and pearl cotton thread to finish the project.

Ok, that's all for now.  Thanks for dropping by and viewing my Easter treat bag today!  Take care and have a great day!

Happy Birthday!

Hi Friends!

TGIF!  I hope you all are doing well!  I thought I'd pop in on this Friday afternoon to show you what I worked on last night.  I won a card making class from Audrey Pettit developed by PageMapsU.  They give you detailed instructions on cards by many talented designers.  So, the above card I made, which is similar to Audrey's.  And, here is Audrey's fabulous card...

I think this card would be great for a masculine birthday.  It would work for feminine or masculine, I think.  But, since it's made I'm going to use it for a masculine birthday.  For I know if you are like me, masculine cards can be a struggle.  Anyways, I had fun making this card.  All the instructions and great details from many wonderful awesome designers.  It's week two of this card making class and I'm already behind!:-)  But, it was tons of fun!  I just love Audrey's style with all the detail and layering!  Thanks so much, Audrey, for the inspiration!  And, thank you for dropping by and visiting here today!  Take care and have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Maria

Spring...

Hi Friends!

Has spring sprung where you are?  It surely hasn't sprung here yet!  It looks gorgeous with blue skies and sun shining, but the temps have been way below normal.  It's been in the 30's.  The normal temps for this time is 50's.  But, a kind word from a friend can really make one feel warm inside, don't you think?  I received a phone call from a friend this morning.  What a sweetheart she is, so this card is going out to her.  And, here is my card...

I'm entering this card over at Simon Says.  The theme is spring.  I do love daffodils and can't wait to see them when they bloom.  The stamp set that I used is from from PTI.  I colored the image with copics.  The sentiment was stamped on vellum and adhered with sewing around the border.  I added a tiny bow for added interest.  An easy card, but I really enjoyed coloring this beautiful daffodil.  Thanks so much for viewing my card today!  Take care and have a wonderful day!

Maria

Hoppy Easter!

Hi there!

Happy Spring to you!  Spring brought to us some snow flurries this morning...grrr!:-)  But, just a little.  And, at least no more subzero temps for awhile...yeah!

Anyways, I'm working on more Easter cards and wanted to enter these two cards over at Curtain Call.  I've been neglecting this adorable stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy with the cutest little critters.  So, I inked them up and colored them with copics.  And, here are my cards...

Here is a closer view of the little bunny...

And, close up of the chick, and sheep...

The sentiment on the first card is from Paper Sweeties.  All other stamps are from Sweet 'n Sassy.  And, the dots and twine are from Doodlebug.  Thanks for dropping by!  Have a great day!

Maria

Hi there!

This is my second post for the day!  Please scroll down to see my card for Seize the Birthday Challenge.  Also, just a reminder that the Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge is still going on until the end of the month!

I tried by hand again at water coloring...pretty basic.  The background and eggs were water colored and the bunny was colored with copics.  I did have fun putting paint splatters on the eggs!  The bunny is from the stamp set Hippity-Hoppity and the sentiment is from Hippity Hoppity Easter Wishes.  The clouds were die cut using the Sweet Cuts-Sending Sweet Thoughts and the eggs were cut using Hippity Hoppity Easter Wishes.

Thanks for dropping by!  Take care and have a great day!

Make a Wish!

Hi there!

Just popping in quick to share with you a card I made for the challenge over at Sieze The Birthday!  The theme is to make the sentiment the focal point.  And, here is my card...

For my card, I started with an aqua card base and paired it with black and white.  I water colored the next two panels.  Polka dot washi tape was added.  Glitter was placed on the stars and a little more water color along with some doodling around the borders.  Dots and ribbon for the final touch.  And, there you have it.  Just trying to experiment more with water color.  I still have lots of learning to do with it.  I'm not sure if it's my thing or not...lol!:-)  But, I do like the soft look of water color.

Thanks for dropping by today!  Take care and have a great one!

Hugs,
Maria

Lucky...

Hi there!

Are you starting any St. Patrick's Day projects?  I noted this fun inspiration challenge over at Curtain Call!  So, I got out the green and went to work on this mason jar that I had for Christmas.  It didn't get spruced up for Christmas, but it is now for St. Pat's Day!  And, here is the mason jar filled with Russell Stover mints...yummm!

First, I crocheted the shamrock.  I added a glittery shamrock for the center and added flowers.  Pearl cotton tied in a bow for the stem.  The burlap ribbon was stamped with tiny shamrocks from PTI and adhered to the jar.  Here is a peek of the lid...

Authentique paper was used for the background.  I stamped the stitched scallop circle from Paper Sweeties and die cut it.  The bow from Paper Sweeties was stamped and die cut, also.  The alphas from Paper Sweeties were stamped in light green and dark green ink from SU.  And, a few more stamped shamrocks and a green gem to finish off the jar.  One more view of my project...

My husband loves mints, so this is his St. Pat's gift!  Just remember...don't forget to wear some green on St. Patrick's Day!:-)  Take care and thanks so much for taking a peek at my project today!

Hugs,
Maria
