Home Grown...

Hi there!

I'm just popping in quick to share with you a card I made for Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.  Anything Goes is the theme for this week, so I'm entering the card below that I made for my friend, Peggi.  She recently posted photos on face book of her garden that she planted recently.  I thought, hmmm...I do have some paper from Cosmo Cricket that would make a great card for her.  And, here is the card...

Well, that's all for now!  Tomorrow is Friday...yeah!  We plan to make a trip to the Amish area here in Ohio on Saturday.  Home cooked Amish food and shopping...so fun!  Whatever you have planned I hope you have a great weekend, take care!

Happy Birthday!

Hi Friends!

I hope that you had a great weekend!  We got together with our son at his place with his friend, Bryan, and his family!  We had a cook out with lots of fun and wonderful food.  We played the game Scattergories, which was fun!  I haven't played it in ages.  At times the words came to me and other times I drew a complete blank...hehehe!

Anyways, the above card is for my brother-in-law.  I hope he will like this card.  He loves to fish.  He used to be a charter boat captain on Lake Erie.  And, he was the perfect captain.  He always made it fun for people.  He would have challenges and games and prizes.  He was one of the most requested captains.  He retired last year and now fishes on his own free time.  I'm entering this card over at the The Male Room challenge just under the wire.  The paper is from SU and Paper Studio.  The image is from Inkadinkadoo, which was colored with copics.  And, the twine is from American Crafts.

Well, that's all for now.  Thanks so much for dropping by!  Take care and have a great week!

Hugs,
Maria

Wishing you brighter days...

Hi there!

I'd like to share with you a card I made for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The theme is trees or nature.

I colored the pretty flower image from Penny Black with my copic markers.  If you are into copic coloring, you will want to see Sandy Allnock's hex coloring chart for copic markers.  It shows the color relationship between markers.  I was using my reds and wanted just one more darker color for contrast, so I looked on her chart that I purchased and found the marker R39 in close relationship of color.  I'm not sure that I would use R05 again, but I went with it this time on my own.  Here are the colors that I used to color the image...

Well, that's all for now.  Do you have any big plans for the holiday?  We will be going to a cook out at my son's on Monday.  Whatever you do have fun and stay safe!  And, I thank all those who have served and are serving to help protect our wonderful country!  Thank you for dropping by...take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Paper Sweeties May Release Rewind!

Hi there!

Welcome to Release Rewind!  We are to combine the new stamps/dies with previously released stamps/dies!  If you saw yesterday's card, you would have seen I used the Happy die!  Well, I love it so much I decided to use it again on a shabby chic card!

I started with a blue card base and paired it with white and pink polka dot paper from K& Company.  I added a doily and a mini sack from Paper Studio.  The birthday sentiment is from the new set Happy and it was stamped on a banner die Sweet Cuts-Be Happy.  The stamped circles and flowers on the banner die are from the stamp set Party Time.  The flowers peeking out of the mini sack are from same stamp set and die cut with Sweet Cuts-Party Time.  The leaves were colored with copics.  Paper Sweeties ribbon(Cotton Candy) and pearls to finish the card.

More inspiration can be found by viewing my talented teammates blogs.  Please check them out and leave them some love!

Well, that wraps up this release for the month!  I hope you enjoyed all the inspiration!  And, just a reminder...I hope to see your creation over at the Paper Sweeties Challenge that is still going on until the end of the month!

Happy creating...have fun!  Thanks so much for visiting here today!  Take care!

Hi there!

Welcome back!  Today is Release Countdown, which means tomorrow you will be able to purchase the *new* May Release stamp sets and dies!  Today I am highlighting the new stamp set MVP!  Do you have a baseball player or fan in your life?  This is the perfect set for them!

When my son was young, he played for three seasons.  I'll never forget his last game.  He was the last one up.  And, I kept praying please just get a hit.  He didn't strike out and he made a good hit...yeah...awesome memories!:-)

For my card, I started with a white card base and added layers of brown, blue, white, and red.  Jake was die cut with coordinating die and colored with copics.  The sentiments, circle stamped on white circle, Jake's outfit, bat, and baseballs are all from the new set MVP!  Twine(Strawberry) and brads were added to finish off the card.  This fun stamp set is just perfect for the baseball fan!

Here is a view of the inside of the card...

The happy birthday sentiment is from the stamp set Occasions.

Happy Birthday!

Hi there!

I was in the mood for a shabby chic spring card and found this lovely inspiration photo over at City Crafter!  Such gorgeous flowers...so pretty!  The weather here in NW Ohio turned chilly once again.  What a let down since it was wonderful weather last weekend.  It's in the 50's here.  A big change from 80 degree weather!  But, it will turn warmer again for the weekend, so that's a good thing!:-)

Ok, I'm sure you're here to take a peek at my card.  And, without further delay here is my card...

I started with a white card base and paired it with light green and lovely paper from Echo Park.  I used an embossing folder from SU and added a border with pearls.  The flower is from Spellbinders and I watched a video on how to make it.  Darsie Bruno does a fabulous job showing how to make this flower!  I watched her video on YouTube.  I'm sure I'll be making this flower again.  Here is a close up of the flower...

I added a button to the center and Maya Road pins behind the flower.  A tag from PTI with sentiment was added to the bow for the final touch.  Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Take care and have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Maria

Feel better soon...

Hi there!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!  Hope you have a wonderful day!
I needed a masculine get well card, so I created the above card.  He enjoys fishing and being out on the lake.  I couldn't find my fish stamp, so I thought the lighthouse and waves would do.

For my card, I started with a white card base and inked up the lighthouse stamp from Inspired by Stamping.  I needed something behind the lighthouse so I drew a couple of huge rocks.  The waves were made using a punch from EK.  The clouds are from Paper Sweeties(Sending Sweet Thoughts).  The sun is from Stampabilities.  The dots are from Doodlebug.  And, I drew a few birds with a Tombow marker.  Ok, that's all for now!  Take care and enjoy today!
