The Sky's the Limit!

Hi there!

Happy Monday to you!  I hope that you had a wonderful weekend!  We had a great weekend despite all the rain!  I'm so happy that my sister's cottage was not damaged for we are to get together for her birthday and another sister's birthday on July 11th at her cottage.  Lots of flooding with cars being abandoned and some businesses damaged due to all the rain we had over the weekend.  But, I celebrated by best friend's birthday with her and had a grad party that we attended Saturday that brought lots of fun!

Anyways, my friend, Greta, is the June guest designer over at the Male Room!  They have a fun challenge going on right now.  I wanted to make a card for my son since he just started a new job.  And, here is my card...

I started with a white card base and punched a circle on the white panel.  The clouds, sun and sequins are from Paper Sweeties.  The waves were made using an EK punch and a white gel pen was used for interest.  The plane is from Close to My Heart and the sentiment is from SU.

Well, that's it for now.  Hope all is going smoothly in your part of the world.  Take care!  Thanks so much for dropping by today!

Hugs,
Maria

A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way....

Hi there!

I hope all is well with you!  I couldn't resist playing along with City Crafter Challenge this week!  Such a pretty inspiration photo!  The challenge calls for blue, green, and a splash of red on your project.

And, here is my card...

For my card, I started with a light green card base and paired it with white and blue.  I made a tag and distressed the background with ink.  Dots were stamped in blue and green inks.  The leaves and butterflies were fussy cut.  Red gems were added to the butterflies.  I sprayed Perfect Pearls Mist in turquoise for a shimmer effect.  Not sure if you can tell very well in the following photo, but in real life it's very pretty.

Thank you for dropping by!  It's appreciated...take care!

Hugs,
Maria

This is your special day!

Hi there!

I'm in summer school!  It's always good to learn!  I know that I love learning things or improving my card designing.  So, I saw the challenge over at My Favorite Things.  It is Lesson #5-Balance:  Quiet Space/White Space.  My inspiration is from Kay Miller as I cased this stunning card made by her...

I love Kay's style!  She makes the most gorgeous cards!  Thank you, Kay, for the inspiration!  The dies and stamp used on my card are from MFT.  The enamel dots are from Doodlebug.

That's it for now friends!  My husband managed to mow the lawn between rains!:-)  So much rain lately...wow!  My prayers go out to those who have been affected with the flooding.  The house and yard work is done, so now it's time to go out and play...shopping...and dinner...yum!  Whatever you have planned for the weekend...have fun!  And, Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!  Thanks so much for dropping by!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Paper Sweeties June Release Rewind!

Hi there!

Welcome to Release Rewind!  We are to combine the new stamps/dies with previously released stamps/dies!  Today I used the new sets Island Time(tree, sun, umbrella), Surf's Up(boat), and Let's go to the Beach(waves). The previously released set that I used is  Mahalo(sentiments).

For my card,  I started with a white card base and paired it with an orange panel.  The sky, boat, umbrella, and tree were water colored.  Sweet Cuts-Island Time dies were used to cut the tree, sun, and umbrella.  Sweet Cuts-Let's go to the Beach die was used to cut the waves.  Glitter added for interest to the sun and waves.  Twine(Creamsicle) to finish the card.

More inspiration can be found by viewing my talented teammates blogs.  Please check them out and leave them some love!

Well, that wraps up this release for the month!  I hope you enjoyed all the inspiration!  And, just a reminder...I hope to see your creation over at the Paper Sweeties Challenge that is still going on until the end of the month!

Happy creating...have fun!  Thanks so much for visiting here today!  Take care!

I'm thankful for...Dad

Hi there, friends!

Just thought I'd pop in quick and share with you a card I made for the challenge over at My Favorite Things.  We are to follow the above sketch.  I thought I'd make a Father's Day card for my husband.  I got out my water color paints and went to work.  And, here is my card...

I started with a white card base and paired it with black.  I used Gansai Tambi water colors on Tim Holtz water color paper.  The dies and stamps are from MFT.  The twine is from Paper Sweeties.

I thank you all for your sweet comments regarding my allergies.  I pulled a few weeds this morning.  I need to get out there and do more.  My doctor said that if I get a terrible allergic reaction again that he'll call in a prescription for prednisone.  So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the pollen count goes way down.  Ok, well that's all for now.  I hope all is well in your world!  Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Take care!

Maria

Happy Birthday!

Hi there!

Hope all is well in your world!  I'm dealing with allergies...grrr!  I was doing better until this morning.  My eyes are affected big time for some reason.  I made an appointment with the doctor on Monday.  The last two weeks I've been taking Zyrtec and allergy eye drops.  But, silly me went outside yesterday and swept the deck.  I think that's what stirred them up again.  Oh well, we'll see what the doctor says Monday.  Any of you experiencing an especially rough spring with your allergies?  If so, hope it gets better for ya.  And, if you have any great tips, please let me know!:-)

Anyways, enough of me regarding allergies!  You are here to see my card.  It's just a simple card that I'm entering over at Paper Smooches.  I recently purchased the frame and birthday bash stamp set from Paper Smooches.  You are probably like me and make lots of birthday cards.  At times, you want to choose a different one.  It's such a fun stamp set!  I'm sure I'll be using it over and over again.  I water colored the panel within the frame, cake, and balloons.  Wink of Stella was applied on the cake.  Twine and dots to finish off the card.  Ok, that's all for now!  Thank you for dropping by!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Follow Your Dreams...

Hi there!

I'm just popping in quick to share a card I made for my great niece.  She graduated last weekend with honors.  We are all so proud of her!  I'm entering the card over at City Crafter.  The theme this week is to use a banner on your project.  And, here is my card...

Hailey's school colors are red and gray and this is the first card that I made.  I am puzzled on which card to give her.  And, here is that card...

What do you think?  Which card do you like the best?  Sweet Hailey I'm sure will be happy with either card.  I can't believe that she's all grown up.  Here is a pic of her and her best friend, Baylee...

Hailey, my niece, is the one on the left.  They are both lovely ladies.  All grown up and ready to go out into the world!:-)  Ok, that's all for now.  Take care and have a wonderful week!

Hugs,
Maria
