Update on Isabel...

Awesome news...Praise God!!! (Regarding my great niece, Isabel, who had a liver transplant on 10-19)

I got an email from Isabel's, Aunt Pat...

Talking about releasing her Friday, and she will be staying with Mom in the Cleveland area within 1/2 hour of the hospital for about two months. Our miracle baby is progressing so rapidly. Hopefully even those months will be cut short with her improvement.

Thank you all for continued prayers!!!

Fall...

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to my tour of fall photos!  It's really feeling like fall around here in NW Ohio.  The temps are in the 50's and 60's and the trees are turning golden yellows, reds, and yellows...so beautiful!  And, as you can see, my geraniums are still doing very well!

I took a short trip about five miles from our house near Lake Erie to go to Magee Marsh...

I originally intended to be beyond the red sign, but it was blocked.
The road travels back to Lake Erie.  I do believe it's
blocked due to duck or deer hunting.  But, better safe than sorry!

Before leaving the area, I spotted this lovely tree!

I wanted to get more fall photos, so I went to our park in town.
I couldn't resist taking a photo of this gorgeous red bush!

I couldn't help but take a photo of this little red/orange tree
behind the park bench.  What a great spot to take a break or
watch the kids play in the park!

And, here is my not so scary scarecrow...ha!
He's already lost the stuffing out of his left leg.  I'll have to
get a new one next year.

Well, I'm so glad I got out to take some more fall photos for
tomorrow we are due with rain and high winds .  Hope you enjoyed
my photos!  Thanks so much for dropping by!
Take care and have a great day!

Hugs,
Maria

Happy Birthday!

Hi there!

It's a beautiful fall day here in NW Ohio!  The leaves have turned more in color and are falling to the ground.  I wish I would have had my camera while we were out and about this past weekend.  There are some gorgeous trees to be seen!  I'll try to get some photos this week.

Anyways, I want to share with you a card I made for Seize The Birthday Challenge.  The topping this time is to make a pocket card.  And, here is my card...

For my card, I started with a white card base.  The pocket and paper are from Doodlebug.  The stamps that I used are from Mama Elephant.  The die used on the green border is from MFT.  The twine is from Paper Sweeties.  And, the dots are from Recollections.  I colored the images and sentiments with copics.  The middle sentiment "laugh" was colored with yellow and then colored with gold wink of stella.  Here is a photo of the tag that tucks inside the pocket...

And, here is the inside of the card...

It felt good to get another birthday card done and play just for fun!  I've been working on design team assignments for November, which will be coming up soon.  I can't believe that this Sunday is Nov. 1st already...wow!

Well, thanks so much for viewing my card today!  Take care and have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Maria

Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends!  *Update --see below*

Just popping in quick to share with you a card I made for my great nephew.  He is turning "2" this weekend.  There was only one little candle on the cake of the stamp image, so I did my best to squeeze in another little candle.  Little Jax must have two candles for his bday cake!:-)  All the cute critters were colored with copics, and they are from Lawn Fawn.  The stitched border dies are from Lawn Fawn, too.  The paper is from BoBunny and the twine is from Paper Sweeties.

Ok, that's all for now.  Hope you're having a wonderful day!  Take good care!

Hugs,
Maria

Update:  Isabel went to surgery at 2 am this morning for her liver transplant.  It is a long surgery.  All went well!  God is good!  Please continue to keep Isabel and family in your prayers!  Thank you!!!

Prayers needed...

Isabel, Lydia, Kayleen

My sister, Christina, just called me telling me that her granddaughter, Isabel(age3), is in need of a liver transplant within the next two weeks.  She has been up at the hospital this past week and just got news of what is needed to do.  They are not 100% sure of what the problem is.  It is genetic or with the chromosomes.  Her mother, Lydia, may be a good match, but testing will be done.  And, it is possible she may reject it.

My nephew, Tim, and his wife, Lydia, have five children.  I know the above photo is not the best of Isabel.  I tried to get one off of facebook from Lydia's page, but was unable to.  The above photo is from July 4th when we were at my sister's cottage.  Anyways, prayers are needed for the whole family.  I know prayer always helps.

Thanks so much!

Hugs,
Maria

Enjoying Fall...

Hi, there!

Happy weekend to you!   A couple days ago we took a day trip to Amish Country here in Ohio.  We visited Berlin, Charm, and Walnut Creek, Ohio.  The leaves are a little late this year with color due to a wet cool spring/summer.  But, some have turned and are so lovely in color!

Our usual first stop is to Miller's bakery.  It was a beautiful fall day in the 60's and apparently other people had the same idea.  We were just a tad late and didn't get our usual apple fritters.  But, that's ok since we got cinnamon twists instead...and so yummy!

We also got a frosted molasses cookie,
date cookie and blueberry tarts!  Everything is so
fresh and so delicious...mmm!  Note:  We didn't eat all of
this at once.  We brought it home with us...hehehe!

We went to Hershberger's Farm and bought some apples
and carrots for the animals.  My husband just got done feeding
Big Ben an apple.  I think he appreciated it!

I had a goat parade around me, but that was OK!  I
had fun feeding these sweet goats some carrots!

This momma pig and her babies were trying to
keep warm under the heat lamp...so cute!

!
Lots of pumpkins.

Beautiful mums in a variety of colors.

We did some shopping in Berlin, Ohio.

After shopping, we ate dinner at our favorite Amish
restaurant, Der Dutchman topped off with
homemade cherry pie...yum!

A gorgeous view behind the restaurant.

Thank you for dropping by and viewing my
Amish photos!  Take care and have a wonderful
weekend!

Happy Fall!

Hugs,
Maria

Paper Sweeties October Release Rewind!

Hi, Friends!

Welcome to Release Rewind!  New stamps/dies are combined with previously released stamps/dies for our projects. Today I am highlighting the *new* die from the set Sweet Cuts-Stitched Tags #2-mitten/tree!  The previously released stamps, which are the snowflakes and sentiment is from the stamp set Deck the Halls.  The twine(strawberry) for around the cut out and used for the bow.  The background behind the sequins was water colored.  The sequins used are (strawberry) and (apple green).  The confetti snowflakes are from Darice.  A drop of stickles placed for the center of the snowflakes.

I couldn't resist playing with this FUN mitten die, so here are tags I made as seen below...

The birds are from the same Deck the Halls stamp set that was used for the above card.  Those birds are adorable!  I just love those Santa hats for the little cuties!  This stamp set is one of my favs from last year!  The twine(cotton-candy) and (robin egg) was tied in a bow for the pink and blue mittens.  The mittens were water colored with Gansai Tambi paints except for the pink one, which was water colored with Tim Holtz(picked raspberry).  Stickles added to the hats.  And, Wink of Stella for a bit of shine on the mittens.

Please stop by my talented teammate blogs to see what they created...have fun!

Welcome back to Paper Sweeties Release Party!  All new products are available today in the shop!  As seen above, I'm sharing with you Christmas tags using the stamp sets The Reason for the Season and Stand Add-on: Manger for the Believe and Noel sentiments.  The dies used are Sweet Cuts-Stitched Tags#2-mitten/tree.  The twine is (strawberry) and (green apple).  I water colored the backgrounds and embossed the sentiments.  Glitter added for the finishing touch.

Here are my first set of tags that I didn't really care for...

They're ok, but I prefer the first set.  What do you think?  Anyways, sequins and bows were added.  The bows are from the same tag set.  And, the sequins are (green apple).

Paper Sweeties October Release Sneak Peeks!

Hi Friends!

It's time for the Paper Sweeties October Release Sneak Peeks!  And, it's nearly time for Christmas...just around the corner!  It's never too early to start those Christmas projects!  And, Debbie has designed some fabulous stamp/die sets for the Christmas season!

I think Abigail and Jake make a perfect Mary and Joseph with the nativity scene!  They were die cut with coordinating dies and colored with copics.  Abigail's outfit and star are from the set Do You See What I See.  Jake's outfit is from the set The Reason for the Season.  And, Jesus in the manger and sentiment is from the set Stand Add-on: Manger.  I added raffia for the straw.  And, glitter(stickles) on Jesus's halo and star.

The stable is actually a bird house that I painted with brown acrylic paint.  Here is a photo of the back of the stable...

Ok, well I hope you take a peek at what the rest of the design team came up with for you won't be disappointed!

Fall...

Happy Fall!

My husband is on vacation this week, so we took advantage of the beautiful fall weather and went to our favorite walking place...Spiegel Grove.  If you've been to my blog before, you'd remember the photos of the trees. And, playful squirrels that frolic about at the Hayes Center.  It is the area where Rutherford B. Hayes resided.  He was the 19th president.  Anyways, I hope you enjoy these fall photos...

Hope you enjoyed my fall photos!  We had a great time watching the squirrels and walking in the beautiful Spiegel Grove.  The squirrels are so friendly and love eating the peanuts we give them.  We hope to get to Amish area some time this week, too.  If I get some great photos, I'll be sharing them.  Well, thanks so much for visiting here today!  Have a great one!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria
