Happy Retirement!

Hi, Friends!

It's another hot day in the 90's here in NW Ohio...whew!  I'll be happy when it cools down for the weekend!  So, I'm inside with the comfort of air conditioning and doing one of my favorite things!  You guessed it...making a card!  I needed a card for a former co-worker who is retiring this week.  Barb is certainly a sweetheart! We started out in Med Surgical together and she moved over to Pain Mgt. where I worked.  We were thrilled to have her transfer!  She is a hard worker and always willing to learn!  She has become one of my very dear friends!   Barb has dedicated her life working as a nurse for thirty-four years!  Happy Retirement, Barb!:-)

For my card, I started with a white card base and distressed the background for the sky with Tim Holtz inks, which are broken china and tumbled glass.  I colored Sophie with copics and die cut her with coordinated die Sweet Cuts-Sophie.  Her outfit is from the stamp set Feel Better Soon.  The sun is from the set Island Time and die cut with coordinating die Sweet Cuts-Island Time. The clouds were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Let's Go to the Beach The sentiments are from the set Happy Everything.  For the stems of the sentiment I used the stems from the flowers of the set I Pick You.  And, the white fence behind Sophie was die cut using Sweet Cuts-Home Tweet Home.

Well, that's all for now, friends!  Hope you're having an awesome week...take care!  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!

Hugs,
Maria

Brrr....

We're here again with another MFT Color Challenge! Join us as we create with this week's color combination.

This challenge features nautical colors to inspire you  Cherry CrispBlu RaspberryCornflower, and After Midnight.

Hi, Friends!

It's warm and humid here!  I know it's not as hot as it is out west, but warm and uncomfortable just the same.  This week is the fair, also.  Those poor animals out in the warm weather.  I hope their owners take good care of them with lots of cool water!

Anyways, I wanted to think some cool thoughts, so I made the above card.  And, I'm entering it over at MFT Color Challenge!  I was very inspired by Barbara Anders, MFT DT, card...so cute!

I started with a white card base and paired it with Lawn Fawn paper.  All the stamps and dies are from MFT!  I just love the sweet polar bear and everything that comes with the fun stamp set!

Well, that's all for now.  Lots of hot weather out there...stay safe and cool!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

The above card was made for my 8-13-15 post last year! Such fun party themed stamps/dies that is highlighted on this fun festive card!  I gave this card to my great nephew for his birthday last year.

I started with a white card base and paired it with blue and red polka dot paper from Doodlebug.  Just look at those FUN banners...awesome...huh?!  I stamped them using the stamp set Birthday Banners and used the coordinating die cut Sweet Cuts-Birthday Banners.  I colored them with copics.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Let's Party.  The present and piece of wrapped candy are from the same set and they were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Let's Party.  The twine(Blueberry) is from Paper Sweeties, also.

Here is a peek of the inside of the card...

The sentiment used is from the stamp set You're Invited.  Please hop along with the blog list below for more inspiration from my wonderful teammates!

Paper Sweeties July 2016 BLAST FROM THE PAST!

Hi there!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Blast from the Past!   Debbie is giving us a break this month, so I searched for some of my favorite cards!  We will return next month with projects featuring a new release!

The above card was posted last summer on 6-15-15.
I used the stamp set Surf's Up, which has the boat and fish.  And, I used the stamp set Island Time for the sentiment.

For my card, I started with a white card base.  The background was made using salty ocean and tumbled glass distress inks for the water.  I used a white gel pen and copic marker for more interest with the waves.  The sky was made using mustard seed and spiced marmalade distress inks.  The sequins(Robin Egg) and (Frosting) along with tiny blue beads were placed for the shaker.  Twine(Blueberry) and blue beads to finish off the card.

Please follow along with the list below for more awesome inspiration from my teammates!

Hi, there!

Today I'm revealing my planner pages for the month of July!  There are no new planner sets for July, so I used several previously released sets for a summer theme!

Just a Little Note!

Hi, there!

It's been too long since I've been here!  I had a busy weekend last weekend with celebrating birthdays and July 4th!  But, it was a fun time!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend, too!

I recently bought this darling stamp set from  Pretty Pink Posh.  I thought the little birdie was too darn cute.  The sun stamp is from Paper Sweeties.  I thought it would be great to have a few note cards on hand.  Here are two more that I made...

I thought I'd share some birthday fun pics of two of of sisters, Cecilia and Christina.  My sis, Cecilia, hosted the party at her
cottage on the lake.

Lucretia, Donna, me, Christina, Cecilia

Obviously, we weren't all ready for this pic, but didn't want to ask brother-in-law to take another...lol!  We had lots of fun!

Well, that's about it for now!  Hope you have a great weekend!  Thank you so much for visiting here today!  Take care!
