Thanks!

Hi Friends!

I'm back again to share with you a couple of projects I made for my husband's assistant to celebrate Administrative Professional's Day tomorrow!  I'm entering these projects at The Shabby Tea Room!  Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo we were to follow...
My husband's assistant, Sue, is a real sweetie!  She always keeps my husband organized for his projects and meetings.  I wanted to make something special for her, and I know that she keeps candy on her desk.  So, I decided to decorate a pretty box for her with a matching card. I painted a box with white paint and lined it with blue felt.  I covered the box with paper.  The lid was embellished with felt flowers, pearls, glass glitter, gem brad, doily, ribbon, and button.

I filled the box with delicious Hershey chocolates!
And, here is a close up of the decorated box.

Hope you are having a great week.  Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Take care, hugs!!:-))

Your Kindness Warms my Heart!

Hi there!

I'm back again with a card for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  It is such an interesting fun sketch I couldn't resist playing along this week!

This card will be given to our administrative professional at work.  Next Wednesday is Administrative Professional's Day, so I wanted to make a sweet card for Peggi.  She always makes the delicious hot steaming coffee in the morning to perk us up!:-)  She then makes another pot of coffee in the afternoon to keep us awake! But, she does a lot more than that and she is a good friend.  She retires in August and she will certainly be missed!  I have other cards I've been working on, so I may be posting again today or tomorrow.  Hope you are having fun in your little crafting world!  Thanks so much for visiting here today!  Take care, hugs!!:-))

Lovely Lilacs

Hi there!

Warm one day and cold the next...brrr!  Yesterday it was in the 70's.  Now today it's in the 40's.  Mother Nature is certainly confused...hehehe.  But, it is spring and it is to be expected.  Anyways, I just wanted to share with you a photo of lovely lilacs that I arranged in a vase before visiting my Mom.  I love the smell of lilacs, don't you?!  My Mom was pleased and excited to receive them.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far.  I hope to be back here again soon to post a card.  Take care and thanks so much for dropping by, hugs!

Birthday Bash!

Hi Friends!

Celebration time come on!  Remember that song?!  I'm probably dating myself!  But, it's time to celebrate when it's birthday time!  I have several cards to make for June birthdays, so I thought I'd get started.  Just look at that fun/sweet inspiration photo from the The Shabby Tea RoomWe were to use a cupcake on the card.  So, if you look closely, there's a sweet little cupcake.  I found some great pom pom trim from Martha Stewart on one of my shopping trips.  I used some chipboard and covered it with Melissa Frances paper.  Lots of layers and distressing with tea dye ink.  Ribbon, button, gems, and sewing to finish off my card.  Mmmm cupcakes...I think I'm getting hungry!  Thanks for stopping by today, friends!
Take care, hugs!!

Thank You!

Hi there!

I hope your Easter weekend was filled with good food and fun times!  We had an excellent ham/chicken dinner out as we usually do each year.  Some visiting here with my Mom.  We watched a movie and relaxed.  We talked on the phone with a couple relatives.  I even had today off of work due to the one doctor being on vacation this week.  But, I did have to go in to work for a meeting.  Just an hour meeting, so that wasn't too bad...hehehe.  Afterwards, I walked in my favorite walking area and enjoyed the spring weather!

Anyways, I want to share a card with you today that I made this afternoon.  I need to get my stash filled up with sympathy and thank you cards.  So, I came up with this one today.  I recently purchased some lovely Close to My Heart paper.  It went perfectly with a butterfly I had in my stash.  It didn't take me very long to make this card.  Does it get easier as one gets more experienced?   Please say, "Oh, yes!"!:-)  Hehehe...well tomorrow is a work day, so it's time to get things ready!   Take care and have a great week!

Here is the sketch we were to follow...

Hi there!

I'm back again with a card for Tuesday Morning Sketches!  When I first saw this stamp from SU, I thought hmmm this is a very unusual stamp!  But, I had to have it for the vintage style!  This card is for a co-worker at work.  She is just so positive and helpful to us all.  I really appreciate all that she does to help me!  I adjusted this card several times, but came up with this end result.  I messed with the ribbon and the yellow panels. Finally...OK...enough...leave it be.  I really do envy all those out there who can whip up a great CAS card in no time.  I'm one of those who think what else can I add?!  Anways, the card is pretty self-explanatory.  I'm so grateful I had a sketch to follow on this one.  Tuesday Morning Sketches come up with some great sketches...thank you!  I appreciate you stopping by today!  You take care and have a wonderful blessed Easter, hugs!!:-))

Birthday Wishes!

Happy Friday to you!  Are you thinking TGIF?!
I took some time out last evening to make a card to
enter at one of my favorite challenges The Shabby Tea Room!
Isn't that a lovely inspiration photo?  We were to follow
the colors in the photo and make a handmade flower.  I
made these flowers before quite awhile back.  I learned how
to make them with the help from Colleen Dietrich.  If you
want to know how to make them, just send me an email.
I embossed the bottom panel, added doily, ribbon and little
clothespin with twine.  The flowers were inked for added
dimension.  A sentiment and gems were placed to finish
off the card.  Well, I stopped to post this card during
the wonderful sun shining for a good photo.  But, I must return to my closet cleaning.  And, wouldn't you agree that card
making is so much more fun than cleaning?!:-)  Thanks for dropping by today! Take care and have a wonderful Easter, hugs!!:-))

Happy Easter!

Hi there!

Can you belive that Easter is this week?!  The time
just flies by too fast for me!

We were away this past weekend for a bowling tournament.
I came close to my avgerage for the most part on my games.
I struggled on Saturday a lot!  But, Sunday we went
to a different alley, and I had better success!  My
partner, Nancy, made her average all her games on
Sunday...yeah Nancy!  Cheryl, who was on our team for Saturday, got 200 games both on Saturday and Sunday...yeah Cheryl!  Anyways, my high game was on Sunday with a 194.  I needed only six more pins for a 200 game to receive a pin.  But that's OK, I have gotten them before on tournaments.  Better luck next year!:-)

OK..onto my card here.  It's pretty self-explanatory.  I embossed
the card base.  The focal point is a lovely Easter egg from Jolee's Boutique.  I used oval dies from Spellbinder's.  I distressed
the doily with tea dye ink.  Ribbon and tulle were added to
the pretty felt flower from K&Company.

We will be eating out this Easter.  That is what we usually do
for this holiday, so no one has to cook.:-)  We will be
having ham/chicken dinner family style...mmm!  Whatever
you do I wish for you and family a blessed Easter!  Take
care and thanks so much for dropping by today, hugs!!:-))
