Happy Birthday!

Hi, friends!

It's been nearly a couple weeks since we returned from vacation.  I went through all the photos and printed them out.  My husband loves taking photos of anything and everything, but that's ok, because getting that one photo certainly can be worth it!  So, after the card I have to share with you today, I'll include a few more animal photos from our vacation at the end of my post.

For my card, I started with a purple card base and paired it with paper that was die cut using a new torn edge die from PI.  The text background was made using a stencil from PI, also.  The flower image is new and is from Pretty Pink Posh.  I colored the flowers with copics.  The sentiment is an older sentiment from PI.  A bow of pearl cotton tied for interest.  And, gems to finish the birthday card for a friend.  I'm entering this card over at NBUS.

Moose story...

The moose photo that my husband got was done with persistence.  And, we are happy that all turned out well.  The first day when he went to walk back to the moose pond in Grand Tetons at Jenny Lake was unsuccessful and he lost his phone.  I didn't do the walk back with him for my sciatica was acting up and I stayed back in the car.  I took my copics to color images and kept busy.  When my husband came back to the car, he said that he has good news and bad news.  He told me that he lost his phone, but someone turned it into the visitor center.  That was his good and bad news.  I said, ok, but did you get a moose photo?  By this time, we had gotten several large animal photos and wanted to get a moose one. He was upset that I wasn't more happy about him finding his phone.  He said I was more concerned about the moose.  I had to apologize and tell him that we will try again tomorrow.  Anyways, sorry about the long story, but he did get an amazing moose photo the next day!:)

I hope you are keeping cool!  It's been very hot all over the world.  Take care and thanks so much for dropping by today!

Today, I'm sharing a birthday card that I made for a friend.  The sweet daisy die is from Lawn Fawn.  And, it can be used for so many different occasions.  I used distress inks for the background.  The sentiment and tag are from PTI.  The cross stitch panel was made using a die from Tutti Designs.  White ink spray and gems were added for the final touch.

The links for the dies are listed below...

Vacation 2022!

Hi, Friends!

We just returned from vacation last night.  We were gone for about two weeks on an adventure that we've been wanting to take for quite awhile.  We walked and drove many a mile.  It took us three days to reach our destination to Yellowstone.  We stayed there for a few days and continued on to Grand Tetons, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, and Sturgis.  My SIL and her husband flew in from Phoenix area and met us at our hotel in South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, and Sturgis.  What an adventure!  We saw God's majestic beauty with Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons!

The above photo with my husband was taken near Old Faithful.  We were too close to the buffalo according to the ranger who blew her whistle and telling people to get away.  The buffalo did continue to move on and went as far as the parking lot.  We always had to be aware of animals.  We had buffalo and a bear that went out in front of us while driving.

Old Faithful

Old Faithful is active about every ninety minutes.  It gets very crowded and I don't know who the two men are in my photo, lol!  Anyways, it is fun to watch when it sprays up into the air.

Jenny Lake (Grand Tetons)

This was one of my favorite areas with the Grand Tetons in the background.  Such a gorgeous view!

Mt. Rushmore

You have to see it to believe it on the grand size of Mt. Rushmore.  It's a beautiful walk up to get photos amongst the pines.  Such beautiful scenery and a great smell of the pines.

Husband and I

It's interesting seeing all the state flags lined up on each side.  There are beautiful plaques telling when each state became a state.

Crazy Horse

There is a memorial of Crazy Horse who fought bravely against Custard in the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876.  We rode up in a bus where we could take closer photos.  They are still working on the memorial and plan to expand. In 1877, Crazy Horse was fatally wounded by a guard while he was resisting.  He was honored by the U.S. Postal Service in 1982 with a 13 cent Great Americans series postage stamp.

I have hundreds of photos, but I won't post them all here.  I may post some more.  I had trouble downloading them off of our camera for some reason.  The ones I posted are from my phone.

I've been trying to keep up with commenting, but if I've missed some I do apologize.  I hope you have a great rest of the week!  And, thanks so much for taking the time to drop by my blog!  Take care!

Hugs!

Dies R Us Challenge July 1, 2022 (Anything Goes!)

Hi, Friends!

For the challenge this month the theme is Anything Goes!  We ask that you use at least one die on your project for the challenge that Dies R Us sells!  Please come and join the fun and have a chance to win a gift certificate at the Dies R Us Challenge!

Today I am sharing a card I made for my sister's birthday.  I love the sentiment along with the cute parrots!  She doesn't have any plans for a tropical vacation, but one can always dream!

For my mini slimline card, I started with a white card base.  I ink blended the background with distress inks and added waves using dies from IO.  The palm trees, parrots, sentiments, and crab are from Lawn Fawn.

The links for the dies are listed below...
