Happy Valentine's Day!

Playing along with
Word Art Wednesday Challenge

Hi, Friends!

I'm just popping in quick to share with you a couple Valentine cards that I made.  I wanted to get a couple entered into the Word Art Wednesday Challenge that will be closing soon.

I hope to get back into my craft room today.  I've been busy painting the bathroom and other daily life things.  Our new granite counter top comes this Thursday, so I had to get things done.  You know when you think you have all the spots painted?  Well, I looked this morning and there is a few spots that needs touch up.  But, that's ok...just a few spots!  Anyways, things haven't been updated for nearly twenty years, so it will look great once things are all completed.

Ok, onto my cards that I made...

The first one was so fun!  I've already given this card to my hair stylist.  She is a crafter, too!  It was so fun giving this card to her.  Seeing her big smile was worth all the effort...so fun!

And, here is the card...

The card is self-explanatory, so I'll just say the die and sentiment is from MFT.  The hearts were made using a Martha Stewart punch.  I struggled a bit placing the lip balm into the pouch.  The lip balm was a little too big for the pouch.  I had to place tape over the back of the white covering inside the card.  But, it's ok for I hope she would open it anyways to take out the lip balm.  I just made it easier for her by placing a few pieces of removable tape.  I didn't take a pic of the card after I placed it in a glassine bag decorated with ribbon and heart doily(*pfft...next time*).  But, anyways, it was a fun project!

My next card is for my friend, Nancy, who loves owls!  The owls are also from MFT.  And, here is my card...

I colored the owls with copics.  The heart stencil is from MFT.  The white panel was die cut using a Mama Elephant die.  And, the twine is from SU.

Ok, that's all for now.  I'll be back in a couple days to reveal my planner for Paper Sweeties.  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  Take good care!

Hugs,
Maria

Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends!

Just popping in quick today to share with you a card I made for my brother-in-law.  His birthday is next week and he used to have an old brown pick up truck.  I hope this card qualifies for the vintage challenge over at the The Male Room.  My brother-in-law, Don, loves vintage cars.  I can remember when I was a teen he had an old black car, which looked like a Model T.  I'm not good with car styles, so I don't know exactly the make of car.  But, anyways, I just thought it was so fun that he gave us a ride in the old classic car.

And,  here is a photo of the card...

For my card I started with a blue card base.  Next came the background panel that was brushed with blue china oxide ink for the sky.  The house image is from Paper Sweeties.  The truck and trees are from SU.  And, the sentiment is from Hero Arts.  All images were colored with copics.

Well, that's all for now.  I'll be back soon to reveal some Valentine cards that I've made.  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Reverse Confetti Challenge Sketch #56!

I'm playing along with

Hi, Friends!

I'm back again with another Valentine card.  I received happy mail yesterday from Reverse Confetti and couldn't wait to ink up the darling little tigers!  I just love the awesome sentiments, too!

Without further delay here is another card for my husband...

I started with a white card base and paired it with red and patterned paper from Doodlebug.  The tigers, bird, and heart were colored with copics.  Another die that I used, which is also from Reverse Confetti is the peekaboo tag layer die!  I stamped another sweet sentiment inside after opening the flap...

I just love this stamp set and see myself using it for my great nephews bday cards, too!

Well, my blog has been busy this week with posts, so I thank you so much for visiting and all your sweet comments!  It's appreciated, my dear friends!  Take good care and stay warm!

Paper Sweeties January 2018-Blast from the past-Winter Edition!

Hi, there!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Blast from the past favorites day 3!  We don't have a new release this month, but we are highlighting winter favorites!

For my project today, I have the very first snowman from Paper Sweeties, which is one of my favs!  I just love this darling fun snowman holding the heart! And, here is my card highlighting the sets (Snow Friends, Let It Snow, Sweet Cuts-Rectangle Scallop Frames)...

For my card, I started with a white card base.  I paired it with a blue panel and a white snowflake embossed panel.  I used distress oxide broken china ink for the background.  The snowflakes are from the same set as the snowman, which is Snow Friends.  Small pom poms were placed on the hat...so cute!  Stickles were applied around the snowflakes.  I die cut a frame using Sweet Cuts-Rectangle Scallop Frames.  Robin Egg ribbon and twine to finish the card.
Please check out inspiration from my teammates!  We hope you enjoyed our month of  projects with the winter/snow theme!

Thanks so much for dropping by today!

Take care and stay warm!

Hi, there!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Blast from the past favorites day 2!  We don't have a new release this month, but we are highlighting winter favorites!  Today I am highlighting Madison ice skating having some outdoor winter fun!  Also, please scroll down to see my second post for Dies R Us.

And, here is my card today highlighting the sets (Madison, Let It Snow, and Somewhere over the Rainbow)...

For my card, I started with an aqua card base.  I colored the images with copics.  The ice skating pond was made using Sweet Cuts-Oval Scallop Frames.  I made a background using distress oxide broken china ink.  I covered the background with acrylic and applied stickles.  Red twine to finish the card.

And, speaking of ice skating, I had fun skating with my son and his friends a couple weeks ago.  I only fell twice...ouch!  I was very sore the next day.  I haven't ice skated in years, which has probably been about ten to fifteen years ago.  But, son is an excellent skater and gave me a few tips and picked me up when I fell.  My husband watched from the side since he has only skated about twice in his life.  He didn't want to give it a try that day.  Anyways, it was fun!  Now maybe I should try skiing once again...lol!  Here are just a couple pics of son and me...

Thanks so much for dropping by today!

Take care and stay warm!

Paper Sweeties January 2018 Blast from the past favorites!

Playing along with the

Hi, there!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Blast from the past favorites!  We don't have a new release this month, but we are highlighting winter favorites!  And, it's snow time!  I don't know about where you are, but we have had freezing temps here...I mean...really freezing!  Just to walk out to get the mail is blistery cold...brrr!  We got a freezing rain on Friday night and a few inches of snow.  We told our son not to come up on Friday, but he traveled up despite the slippery road conditions.  He is helping us remodel our bathroom.  We've had the new cabinet, sink, and toilet in the garage before Christmas.  But, with the holidays being so busy, we waited until now to start the process.  Anyways, we were very thankful when he made it here safely!

For my project today, I have a darling fun snowman waving hello and wishing you all a wonderful day!  And, here is my shaker card today highlighting the sets (Snow Time and Merry Little Christmas)...

For my card, I started with a white card base.  I used distress oxide broken china ink for the background.  The snowflakes are from the set Merry Little Christmas.  The globe, snowman, and sentiment is from the set Snow Time and die cut with Sweet Cuts-Snow Time.  The frame was die cut using Sweet Cuts-Circle Scallop Frames.  The sequins for the shaker are marshmallow, robin egg, and strawberry.  Red twine to finish my shaker card.

Thanks so much for dropping by today!

Take care and stay warm!

Love You!

Hi, there!

Have you started those Valentine projects yet?  I made my first one  today.  I was inspired to join the challenge over at City Crafter.  The theme is to include the word "LOVE" or focus "HEARTS" on your project.  I made this card for my husband.  I guess my inner shabby chic came out today with the gems and glittered feathers.  I hope he likes it!

And, without further delay here is my card...

I started with a white card base and paired it with gold striped paper.  The border was die cut using a MFT die.  The hearts were made using a SU punch.  The love you sentiment die cut was made using Elizabeth Craft Designs dies.  The heart gems are from Hobby Lobby and the gold arrow and feathers is from Paper Studio.

Here is a another view of my card...

Ok, well that's all for now.  We are having a heat wave here today for the temp is in the 50's.  It feels like spring.  But it won't last long for we are due for more snow.  Originally, we were to get six to ten inches, but now it's only one to three inches.  I'll take the one to three!

Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by, my friends!  Take good care!

Hugs,
Maria

My Favorites of 2017!

Hi, Friends!

Hope you are having a wonderful start of the new year!  I finished my DT assignments and am cleaning my craft room.  Whew, the stuff one saves...why?  But, some time we might need it, right?  Well, I'm getting rid of things I don't use and placing some things in the hallway in the meantime.  Even the dog wanders what is going on...lol!

We are still in the big chill, but relief in the 20's and 30's are due for next week.  Schools have been closed for the past couple days because of the frigid temps.  The east coast got hit with more snow and water than us.  My thoughts and prayers are for those along the east coast.  Please stay safe and warm!

Anyways, I'm sure you are not here for the weather...so I have my favs of 2017.  It's fun looking back on them and a good learning process of what I can do better or things I can change up for future projects.   Ok...so without further delay here are my favs of 2017...

Hope you have a great weekend!  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria
