Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I'd like to wish you all a very blessed Christmas and a new year filled with many blessings!

I have a last minute Christmas card that I decided to make this afternoon before this evening's festivities.  We usually go out for Christmas Eve dinner and then to an evening service.  Our son plays the Hallelujah Chorus on the organ while the choir sings.  Anyone in the service may come up and join the choir singing the song.  We finish the service off with candle light singing Silent Night.  It's a tradition that I look forward to each year!

And, here is my Christmas card...

I started with a red card base and paired it with a scalloped panel that was die cut using a Mama Elephant die .  The city scene was a prize gift that I received a couple days ago from Lori Hairston Chouxchoux Paper Art.  Thanks so much, Lori!!  I was inspired by her Christmas card, which can be seen below.

Also, I used distress inks of spun sugar, twisted citron, and mowed lawn.  The sentiment die is from Elizabeth Craft Design.  The holly on the lamp post is from Paper Sweeties-Sweet Cuts-Jingle All the Way.

And, here is Lori's card...

I love the pink and aqua against the black background.  The silver border is a great addition.

Ok, well, that's it for me this Christmas season.  Have a wonderful blessed Christmas!  Thank you so much for taking time out to view my card today!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Christmas Gifts...

Merry Christmas!

Just a few more days until the big day!  How are your Christmas preparations coming along...you ready?  We just finished up our shopping this afternoon.  The crowds weren't too bad.  Lunch with my husband and a peppermint mocha coffee to finish off the trip.  Now it's time to wrap the gifts!

I made a few crafty items this year to give as presents.  I have a massage therapist that I see monthly for my sciatica.  Lilley is a dear sweet person and does a great job.  I thought she might appreciate a few handmade gifts...

First up is a cowl neck scarf ...

I saw the tutorial on YouTube.  It uses a P size crochet hook and the stitch is half double crochet, so easy!  I made a similar one for my sister's birthday.

Next up, is a clay bowl stamped with snowflakes...

I made four more similar to this one for my sisters for Christmas.  I saw a tutorial on The Pink Envelope-Cynde Whitlow.  We got together last weekend for my sister, Lucretia's birthday.

Top Left:  Lucretia, Cecilia, Christina
me, Donna

And, my last gift for Lilley is a little treat gift for her filled with peppermint sticks...

Well, that's all for now.  I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a new year filled with joyous blessings!  Thank you so much for dropping by today!  Take care!

Hugs!

We also have a new stamp set with a truck and tree image!
Oh, how fun it would be to create with the old fashioned truck!  And,
so many possibilities to tuck an image in the back of the truck!  It's
time for tree decorating and fun festivities!  When we were first married,
we bought real trees.  The smell of a pine tree was so wonderful!  We
didn't haul it in the back of a truck.  We had a red Chevette!  Oh, such
memories with that first car!

Here is my first project using the new stamp set/die

For my Christmas card, I started with a red card base and paired it with stripe paper from Carta Bella.  The background was water colored using the tree from the set.  I made a stencil and water colored with zig markers.  The truck was water colored, also, and popped up for dimension.  Nuvo glitter drops were applied for interest.  Twine to finish the card.

Next up, Christmas tags...

I used the same set as I used for the card.  The trees were water colored using zig markers.  The embossed Christmas bulbs are from the set Planner Series:  Happy Holidays.  Nuvo red glitter drops for interest on the trees.  Green apple ribbon from Paper Sweeties, twine, and bells to finish the tags.

A peek at the inside of the tags...

Oh, how fun it would be to create with the old fashioned truck!  And,
so many possibilities to tuck an image in the back of the truck!  It's
time for tree decorating and fun festivities!  I will be using the truck
stamp set on my next project, which will be on 12-17-18.

Here is my first project using the Sweet Cuts-Treat Box.

For my little vintage house, I covered the treat box with felt.  The scalloped roof was made using Stand Add-on:  Sweet Treats.  The door was die cut using Treat Box Add-on:  Home&Garden.  The wreath and candy canes were made using Planner Series-Happy Holidays.  Star gems were applied to the wreath.  Pearls were applied to the candy canes.  Ribbon(Robin Egg and Bubblegum) with a button applied at the top of the box.  Mica Flakes, button, and pom pom trim to finish the vintage house.  I'm entering my house project over at Chouxchoux Paper Art.

Next up, a gingerbread felt ornament card...

For my gingerbread card, I started with a white card base and paired it with aqua paper from MME.  The next panel was embossed with a snowflake folder from SU.  The felt gingerbread was die cut using Sweet Cuts-Sugar and Spice.  The gingerbread man was die cut twice and a blanket stitch was used for the two layers.  Frosting ribbon and pearl cotton to make a bow.  Pearls were added for interest.  The sentiment and small ginger is from the set Planner Series:  Happy Holidays.  Felt scalloped borders were made using Sweet Cuts-Sweet Borders.  Mica flakes for the finishing touch.  The gingerbread man can then be taken off and used for an ornament for the tree.  A card with an ornament...two gifts in one!

Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends!

I'm popping in quick to share with you three birthday cards using the poinsettia die set from MFT.  And, the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.  I'm entering over at Word Art Wednesday.   I spent today doing a little shopping and lunch with my husband.  He has this week off for vacation.  He got the outside lights up today.  He thinks an animal chewed through one set, so we bought more white lights.  He'll finish putting those lights up tomorrow.  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!  How is your Christmas decorating coming along at your place?

And, here are my cards...

Well, that's all for now probably until the end of the week.  Take good care and thanks so much for dropping by today!
