Hi, there!
Just popping in quick to share with you a card made for a friend! I'm entering this card over at City Crafter. The theme this week is banners. I decided to try the sponge technique, which Lori demonstrated with a video. She made such a lovely card. I was so inspired, so I gave it a try. And, here is my card...
I started with a white card base and used make up sponges to apply the ink. I did two dabs with the sponge on the ink. I think it turned out great. But, I can't say the same for my thumb and finger...ha! You might want to use gloves if you don't want inky fingers!:-) Butterflies were punched as were the scalloped circles. It was a fairly easy card to make. I plan on doing another card in different colors for I had lots of fun with it!
Thanks so much for viewing my card today! Take care!
Hugs,
Maria

Happy Anniversary!
Hi, there!
I hope you had a great weekend! It certainly was a hot one here in the 90's...whew! I'll talk more about that in a few. But, first I want to share with you a card that I made for my sis and her hubby. They will be celebrating their 49th anniversary on July 8th! I'm entering the card over at Simon Says. The theme is...add shimmer. And, here is my card...
For my card, I started with a pink card base and paired it with flamingo paper. I embossed a heart and cut it out. I colored part of the scallops with a black copic marker. The MFT flamingos and hearts were die cut and placed on the heart. I added Wink Of Stella to their beaks and wings. Gems were added for interest. The MFT scallop borders were die cut and placed. The sentiment is from MFT, also. A little black bow with black pearl cotton for the final touch.
We had a busy weekend meeting up with our son and his friend, Bryan. We traveled both Saturday and Sunday to get together with them. We had a conference on Saturday and met them for dinner. On Sunday, we went back to go to the Columbus Zoo. The heat was very oppressive! I'm used to air conditioning. So, we stayed for only a few hours, but we did have a good time! And, here are a few photos...
Well, that's all for now, friends! I hope you have an awesome week! Take care!
Hugs,
Maria

Happy Birthday!
Hi, Friends!
I hope you're having a great Tuesday! I'd like to share with you a card made for my sister's birthday. We will get together for two of my sister's birthdays on July 2nd at my sister's cottage on the lake. So, I wanted to go with a beach theme and I recently purchased some fun summer stamps/dies from Lawn Fawn...so cute! The embossed sentiment reads...(be a little shellfish). I was so inspired by Cristina Nunez's card, so I cased her card. And, here is her card...
The other sis is getting this card that was already posted last month, but I did change the sentiment to happy birthday...
Lots of Lawn Fawn goodies were used on my first card along with Mama Elephant circle scallop die. The banners are from Paper Sweeties. Ok, well, that's all for now! Take care and have a great week!

CAVS!!!
Hi, Friends!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Yesterday was special being that it was Father's Day and a huge celebration for the Cleveland Cavaliers! We have waited for such a long time for Cleveland to have a title. Against all odds the Cavs made it happen! What a nail biting game it was! Excellent defense at the end by LeBron and the 3-point shot by Irving clinched the game! The last major title was in 1964! My Dad was not able to witness this on earth, but I'm sure he is smiling in heaven! My Dad loved sports. He lettered in high school with basketball. He loved all the Ohio sport teams, but he dearly loved the Cavs and the Indians! Oh, what a happy time to celebrate for Ohio...yeah Cavs!!!
We celebrated Father's Day by going out to lunch at Mon Ami near the lake. We listened to live music and had a great time. We forgot to take pics and soon after lunch my son scooted off to join friends in Cleveland for a watch game party. Anyways, here is a pic of my husband and son from last year...
My husband does like watching the Cavs. But, the team he loves to watch more than anything is the Ohio State Buckeyes! He will be one happy fella wearing his Father's Day gift...
Oh, just a couple more pics...why not...hehehe! I wanted to include a photo of my Dad and me. I have my wedding album out because our 37th anniversary is this Wednesday on the 22nd! We always like to get it out and look at the photos. Oh, how young we were way back in 1979...whew...so many years ago, but we are still having fun! I can't believe my husband convinced me to do this dance move to the then popular song..."King Tut"!
And, here is a photo of me with my parents...
Well, that's all for now! I hope you have an awesome week! Take care and thanks so much for dropping by!

As you can see on my planner, we just returned from some summer fun! We went to the Outer Banks, NC and had a very relaxing vacation! Please scroll down to see my vacation post.

The sentiment from the same stamp set is seen at the top. Lots of planner stamps were incorporated for my May calendar page this month such as Planner Series: Get your Craft On, Winter Sentiments, Happy Icons, Celebrate, Vacation, and Appointments.

Vacation at the Outer Banks!
Ahhh...relaxtion...coffee and a good book!
Hi, Friends!
It's been awhile since I've been here, but hubby and I were away on a relaxing vacation at an awesome Bed and Breakfast in the Outer Banks! The weather was perfect! We had just missed the tropical storm, Colin. There was lots of water on highway 12 as we neared out place to stay. But, we managed to get through it and we reached our destination with a big smile on our face! Every morning we woke to a delicious homemade breakfast by a chef. Eggs florentine, shrimp and grits, belgium waffles were just a few of the many choices...so delicious! I'm surprised I can still fit into my clothes...ha!:-)
We saw three lighthouses during our stay...Currituck, Cape Hatteras, and Bodie Island. We were one our way one morning to see another...Oracoke, but there was a three hour wait to get on the ferry. The highlight of our trip was seeing wild horses on the beach. We took a wild horse tour and saw the beautiful horses in several different places. They are protected and one is to get only within 50 feet of them. They have been known to kick and one even bit a lady on the shoulder...ouch! Also, we saw the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk. We visited Elizabethan Gardens. And, we did some shopping and beach time, too! Sit back and sip your favorite beverage and enjoy the photos...
Wild horses on the beach
We thought this one might be pregnant
I think this one is saying...Hey...I own this beach!:-)
Fresh rain water in certain areas for them to drink.
Currituck Lighthouse
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
Bodie Island Lighthouse
Elizabethan Gardens
A lovely garden path.
Wright Brothers Memorial
Beach time...perfect...not too hot and not
a cloud in the sky!
Shopping time with shops right on the water
and a great boardwalk...so peaceful!
We had to walk the boardwalk so
as to walk off these delicious donuts...yum!
There was a pond by the shops with turtles. We
found this one stretching and taking in some sun!
Gorgeous sunset!
Well, I hope you enjoyed viewing the photos! Take good care and
have a wonderful week! My thoughts and prayers go out to
Orlando...another tragedy...so sad... Peace and love to all!
Hugs,
Maria
