Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends!

I didn't think that I'd be back so soon, but I forgot that I needed to get a birthday card made for a friend.  It will be late.  But, I think she will appreciate it.  I did say "Happy Birthday" to her on  face book, but it just isn't the same.  I have been eyeing this particular stamp set for quite awhile and I took the plunge and recently purchased it from Simon Says.  The scallop oval die is from Newton's Nook.  The image was colored with copics.  I'm entering this card over at NBUS.  And, here is the card...

My husband has been busy staining trim to be put up in the office/craft room, so I am working on laundry and card making.  It's such a yucky day out there with rain.  This morning we had freezing rain.  We had to go out into it to take our dog to the vet.  It's good to get back home and out of the nasty weather.  I saw the news that reported some rough weather throughout the whole country, so be careful out there!  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today.  I really appreciate your sweet comments!  Take care, hugs!!

Easter...

Hi, Friends!

I moved on to making Easter cards for now.  I want to make a couple more St. Patrick's Day cards, but will post them another time.  They are calling for an early spring, so I hope that means a warm Easter day.  It's always great for the little ones to have nice weather when they are hunting the Easter eggs.

For the above card, I started with blue card stock and paired it with a stencil background from MFT using distress inks.  The cross die is from Simon Says.  The flowers are from MFT, also.  An easy card to add to my Easter stash.

Not much else is going on here.  I started cleaning out some drawers.  I need to clean my closet and bring forward spring clothes.  As I stated before, I 'd rather craft than clean, lol!

Ok, you all take good care and thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today.

Oh, one more thing.  I need to say that I've had trouble commenting on some blogs.  I have tried to no avail.  If anyone can give me any tips, I'd appreciate it!  I do visit your blog, if you leave a comment here, but if I'm unable to comment I do apologize.  Have a great week!

Hugs!

St. Pat's...

Happy Monday to you!  Before the super bowl began, I made the above card.  Did you watch the super bowl?  It was a good close game!  I wish the Bengals were in it, but oh well, maybe next year?

After Valentine cards, come St. Pat's Day cards.  I only make a few of them.  It was fun coloring the cute little gnome from Sugar Pea.  The frame die is from PTI.  And, the hearts to make the shamrock are from Reverse Confetti.  I'll be sending this card to  my son, Jeremy.

Not much else is going on around here except that hubby is staining trim that will be put up in the office/craft room.  Our son will put it up when he is able to do it.

I feel spring is just around the corner.  Maybe an early spring?  It would be great if so.  I'm already seeing green grass coming through on the lawn.  We've had some sunny days, but very windy.  The dog was determined to get out for her walk.  She loves to walk down to the neighbor's to stand in front of their house and bark to call for her friends to come out, lol!  At least it helps me to get some steps in.  Since January, I've been doing my best to do some walking every day.  At times, it's difficult due to my sciatica, but I mange to get it done.

Well, that's all for now.  Have a wonderful Valentine's Day tomorrow.  Take care and have a great week!

Hugs!

Crochet Projects...

Hi, Friends!

Today I'd like to share with you a few crochet projects that I have created recently.  The above photo shows an afghan that I made for my friend's daughter who is due in April.  They don't want to know the sex of the baby until he/she is born.  So, I went with a light creamy yellow color for the afghan using the shell stitch pattern.  It is so soft and comfy!  I hope she and baby like it!

Next up...

I made a purse, but I'm not really happy with it.  The last purse that I made used macrame cord and it was very difficult to work with.  I went with a different yarn, which was easy to work with, but it didn't make for a sturdy purse.  I even crocheted a panel for the inside to give it strength.  Oh, well, it's a learning process for me.

I didn't attach the handle to the purse yet.  I need to buy some D rings.  I wasn't going to finish the purse, but I figure I need to try and learn as I go.  I did buy more macrame yarn, but not the cord type.  I think I will try again to make another purse.  Practice makes perfect, right?!

If you remember, here is the first purse that I made a few months ago...

My last project to share are wash cloths.  I have made tons of these and they are so quick and easy to do.

Ok, that's all for now.  Thanks so much for dropping by today.  Take care and have a wonderful day!

Hugs!
