TSTR Week #68 'My Favorite Things'

Hi there!

I couldn't resist entering the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room again this week!  I had so much fun making this card!  We were to use our favorite paper and embellishments.  I just kept adding so many of my favorites to this shabby card!  I have many favorite papers and embellishments, but I so love Girls' Paperie soft beautiful paper.  I picked up the doily when we were in Amish Country.  I trimmed it down to fit  the card.  I used distress inks of tea dye, antiue linen, and walnut stain for the lace.  I added batting under the muslin fabric for dimension.  Scor-Tape came in handy for that little task.:-)  I thank you for visiting here today!  Take care and enjoy the rest of your week!:

The Shabby Tea Room #67-'Classic Patterns'

Photo inspiration with yummy colors and patterns!

Hi Everyone!

I'm just getting under the wire here to post this card for the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room.  Such pretty colors with yummy cupcakes for this week inspired me to make a card.  We are to use the colors in the inspiration photo and polka dots and/or gingham.  I did quite a bit of sewing on this card.  It all went well until the top of the card.  But, that was OK since I planned on adding some lace trim.:-)  Well, I better get the deck swept and some weeds pulled while we have great weather today.  It's in the 70's and sunny; perfect weather!:-))  Take care and enjoy your day!  Thanks for visiting!

Amish Country

This is the hotel where we stayed at this past weekend.  It had a lovely garden, gazebo, and pond.
A photo of me near the garden.
A photo of my handsome husband in the gazebo.
Many horse and buggy are seen along the roads.
A couple of horses waiting patiently for their owers to return.
Another view of the countryside.
We had fun feeding the colorful fish.
We had the good fortune of watching a wedding at the gazebo yesterday afternoon.  I so wanted to take pictures, but I didn't want to be a wedding crasher!:-)  Anyways, I hope you enjoyed viewing the photos!  It was great to get away for a couple of days.  We love to visit Amish Country here in Ohio usually about once a year.  It is a slower pace of life and very relaxing.

My Mom is doing better.  We visited with her today before coming home.
She is weak yet, and she is getting physical therapy.  We bought her some maple covered cashews,  which gave her a big smile!:-)  I thank you again for thoughts and prayers for her.  It's truly appreciated!  Thanks for visiting here today...take care!:-))

TSTR #66-Pink Lemonade(Thank You)

A lovely summer inspiration photo!

Hi there!

I did some more card therapy last night.  This card is for the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. I made this card for my boss.  She let me leave early this past week to visit with my Mom.  She truly is a sweet and kind boss.  I'm now on vacation for the next two weeks.  We were to go to Myrtle Beach this week, but had to cancel due to Mom's condition.   Instead of basking in the sun we are painting a bedroom.  And, I can also visit with my Mom.  She comes first, and she gave us quite a scare last week.  Anyways, I'm happy that she is doing better, and I so thank you for the thoughts and prayers for her.  It is appreciated!  Thanks for visiting here today.  Take care!:-))
