So Sweet of You...

Hi Again!

Just thought I'd share a quick card that I made for my sister.  We talked about something that needed to be done regarding my Mom.  She went ahead and did it on her own with a quick phone call.  Voila, and it was done.  She is very thoughtful and organized that way, and I appreciate it.  So, I made the above card for her.  It gave me a chance to use some lovely papers by one of my favorite lines, MME.

I started with a tan colored card stock and paired it up with  several patterns from MME(The Sweetest Thing).  I added some stitching to the side panel.  Die cuts from SU.  And, the sentiment and pink flower stamps are from Paper Sweeties.  I used So Sweet of You and Home Tweet Home stamp sets.  The ribbon and candy dots are from SU, also.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend, hugs!

Stamps:  Paper Sweeties:  So Sweet of You

Happy Fall Ya'll!

Hi there!

How's it going in your corner of the world?  I hope all is well!  I recently purchased an awesome paper pad from Doodlebug.  The colors and patterns are just gorgeous!  I got out my owl punch and Paper Sweeties stamps and went to work for a fall card.  I'm entering this card over at Word Art Wednesday.

I started with a brown card base and added orange leaf, woodgrain, and yellow polka dot Doodlebug papers.  I used a SU owl punch and assembled that darling little owl.  The sweet little bird was paper pieced using the stamp set Home Tweet Home.  The pumpkin is from the stamp set Happy Thanksgiving.  And the sentiment is from the set Happy Fall Ya'll.  Gems and twine were added to finish off the card.

I know it's a bit early, but I wish you a big....Happy Fall Ya'll!:-)
Have a great day and thanks for visiting, hugs!

Sweet Moments...

Hi there!

Are you having a wonderful weekend?  I certainly hope so!  I had had some crafting time yesterday after we enjoyed some time at the county fair.  It was perfect weather for everyone to enjoy the rides and fun fair food.  My favorite treats are the waffles and caramel apples with nuts...mmm!

Today I'd like to share with you a card I made for City Crafter Challenge.  We were to make a project with the theme 123.  It involves using a 1) stamp...2)different papers...3)embellishments.    Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo...

Edit:  Silly me!  I apparently misread the directions...grrr!  I was to use only one stamp, only two different papers, and only three different embellishments!  Oh well, better luck next time!:-)

For my card I started with a cream card base and layered with pink, black and Echo Park paper.  A cloth heart doily was placed.  And, a paper doily, which I distressed was layered.  I stamped a lovely frame onto the oval die cut.  I then fussy cut a pretty rose and popped it up for dimension.  Pearls were added to the rose and frame.  Ribbon, twine, and button to finish the card.  Ok, I may have one more card to post yet today, so please stay tuned.  And, I thank you so much for dropping by!  Take care, hugs!

Happy Birthday!

Hi there!

Happy Monday!  Hope your Monday is off to a good start for the week!  I did some cleaning and organizing in my craft room last night and this morning.  It's always helpful to get things organized.  And, it's always fun to find things that you forgot you had!:-)  After I had things under control, I decided to sit down and make a card for the challenge over at Dynamic Duos.  The colors we were to follow this week are pool party and black.  The option was to add embossing...

For my card I couldn't wait to ink up the mosaic stamp!  I recently purchased it and knew I'd love it!  The stamp is so versatile.  I already have ideas to use it for my Christmas cards.  And, Christmas is only a few months away...yikes!:-)  So, for my card I started with a black card base and embossed the next layer with Modern Wallpaper emboss folder from Cuttlebug.  I stamped and punched out the mosaic pieces.  I popped them up on dimensionals and added pearls.  I added a border along the bottom for interest and topped the card off with sheer ribbon.  I have lots of birthdays in the family for next month, so it's great to have one done for my birthday stash.

Ok, friends, enjoy your day, hugs!  And, thanks so much for dropping by today!

GO BUCKS!!!

BIG NUT!!!

Son, Jeremy, BIG NUT, husband, Randy

Hi there!

I just wanted to share with you some photos of huge buckeye fans,(Ohio State)!  The BIG NUT, Jon Peters talked about his experiences at our church Thursday evening.  I wanted to be there, but it really was a guy thing.  And, that's OK 'cause my son and husband had a great time!  The BIG NUT is a super nice guy who goes around and speaks to help raise money for scholarships.  He is from our area and, of course, loves to attend buckeye games!  My husband already told me the first buckeye game is in just a couple of weeks.  So, I know where he will be...lol!  I do enjoy watching the games with him and at times I wander to my craft room, too!:-)  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far.  Take care and thanks so much for dropping by, hugs!

Imagine...Escape!

Hi there!

TGIF...yeah!  I was so happy to see the end of this week!  Every time I think I can't handle my job anymore the next day is completely different.  I pray to the good Lord and tell him to keep me there if that's where I am to be, but I wonder why does he keep testing me like that?  lol  Whew, I guess He's really trying to teach me patience!:-)  Anyways, how are you doing?  Did you have a great week?

Yesterday evening I took a bike ride and let my mind soak in the nature around me.  I knew how I wanted to use the challenge colors of blue, purple and green for the challenge over at A Mixed Media Color Challenge.  I wasn't sure on the rest of the project, but I think it came together much better than my first project that I attempted with this color challenge.  Here is my first attempt at this week's challenge...

The more I looked at it the more I disliked it.  So, maybe I'll save bits and pieces from it for a future project. :-)

Here is the lovely inspiration photo we were to follow for this week...

But, anyways, back to my final project for the challenge I received "happy mail"  and got to work with my new gelatos.  The vibrant color is just amazing!  You can see it with the blue and purple on the background and flowers.  It goes on like a crayon, but when you add water it turns into smooth bright color!

I began with a cardboard base for my wall hanging and painted it light blue.  I applied the gelato and added water.  I then used a brush to smooth out the paint for the background.  I sprayed turquoise perfect pearls mist.  I let it dry and stamped a Tim Holtz stamp, which looks like chicken wire against the background.  Burlap was added for the grass.  The flowers were painted with light blue paint and gelatos added.  Stickles and pearls for the final touch on them.  The leaves were painted with sour apple paint sprayed with Forever Green perfect pearls mist and stickles added.  I stamped the word Escape onto Simple Stories paper.  A little clothes pin was painted light blue to hold it in place.  A Tim Holtz metal tag with the word imagine was placed with a safety pin.  The theme that I was thinking for this project was that I love to imagine escaping to nature for relaxation either it be around my house or on vacation.  The wooden butterflies and main flower were painted the same as the wooden flowers with a BoBunny gem flourish.  I mixed modeling paste with light blue paint and used  a MFT stencil to border the project.  Clouds were fussy cut and white crackle paint and stickles were applied.  A little sun was punched to peek out from behind the cloud.  Dragonflies were added to the background.  And, buttons placed for the final touch.  This project was very time consuming and messy.  I was thinking I really need a sink in my craft room...lol!  But, I had lots of fun and after a long difficult work week, it did me a world of good!

Thank you for stopping by here today!  I really appreciate it...hugs!

We just returned from vacation, so I do apologize for not getting around to your blogs.  There's always catch up when returning from a trip.  But, we had a fabulous time!

Today, though, I want to share with you a card I made for the monthly challenge for Paper Sweeties!  All you have to do is follow the above sketch.  The winner of the challenge will receive a $20 gift certificate and an invite to be the guest designer for the following month!  So, please join in on the fun!  Here is my card for the challenge...

For my card, I started with a cream base and topped it with lovely papers from Simple Stories(Vintage Bliss).  The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties using the stamp set, You're Invited.  The doilies are Martha Stewart.  I punched out little hearts and added sequins and gems.  The buttons are from SU.  Pearl cotton was added to the buttons.  Some yummy ribbon from Paper Sweeties using Oatmeal Cream and Rose Petal.  A Martha Stewart border punch was used for the last extra touch along the bottom of the card.  And, there you have it for my happy birthday card, which I will be giving to a co-worker.  I love working with her for she is always so helpful and sweet!  Do you have one of those co-workers where you get along so well and appreciate their friendship?  Well, Barb is to me one of the best, a real sweetheart!
