Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

It's nearly time to ring in the new year!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and great times with family and friends!  A new year brings thoughts about the previous  one and thoughts of how the new one will be.  I have to say that I had a good year. I know some new things are down the pike for me with church activities, so I can only hope and pray for the best!  And, of course, card designing with the two design teams I design for gives me great pleasure!  Stay tuned for something new with Paper Sweeties will be revealed very soon!  I'm entering this card over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.

I made the above card for my son because he griped about not getting a handmade Christmas card sent to him.  Oh, how could I do such a thing!  Yes, I admit, I bought a store bought card for him...sigh...hehehe!  So, I'd like to surprise him with this New Year's card.

The papers are from PTI, DCWV, and MFT.  The envelope is from Heidi Swapp.  And, the banner and numbers are from the Paper Sweeties stamp set Days Until

Inside the envelope is a tag...

I used the stamp set Happy Everything.  And, I used gold Wink of Stella around the happy sentiment, banner, and numbers.  Dots from Doodlebug and twine Licorice from Paper Sweeties to finish off the card.

Well, that's it for now.  If you have big plans for New Year's Eve, have fun and stay safe!  We might go out for dinner and a movie.  May the New Year bring you lots of joys and many blessings!  Thanks so much for dropping by...take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Get Well Soon!

Hi, Friends!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  We certainly did!  So much yummy food and fun times with family!  I made the above card for a family member who is to have surgery tomorrow.  I'm wishing for her a very speedy recovery!  I'll take this card to her tomorrow along with a book and some magazines.  I even thought of buying one of those adult coloring books for her, but due to her surgery it might be difficult.

Anyways, the card was easy peasy with the K&Company poinsettia stickers.  The paper is from Echo Park and the sentiment is from PTI.  Well, not much else going on here right now.  I'm not looking forward to putting away all the Christmas decorations.  It looks so lovely and peaceful at night.  It makes me want to keep them up all year...ha!  I thought I'd share a few Christmas photos of family...

Snow Time!

Hi, there!

I hope you are all doing well this Christmas week!  I had some free time last night and felt crafty, so I came up with this last project before Christmas.  I ordered some Sweet Chips Snow Globe from Paper Sweeties!  What a wonderful snowy fun project it turned out to be...love it!  It is a snow globe within a globe...ha!  And, speaking of snow.  Hmmm...I'm beginning to wish we had some.  And, I rarely say the word...snow!  But, it doesn't seem like Christmas when the temps here are in the 50's and 60's.

Anyways, the stamp set that I used was Snow Time and with coordinating die Sweet Cuts-Snow Time.  The snow was made using Sweet Cuts-Thanks Snow Much.  The twine(Strawberry),  straw(Strawberry). sequins(Marshmallow) and (Snowflakes) are from Paper Sweeties, also.

Debbie has awesome tips on the back of the sweet chips.  And, they are already cut out for easy assembly...and so fun!  I plan to make a snowman, too!

Well, that's all for now!  Take care and Merry Christmas!

Hugs,
Maria

Merry Christmas!

Hi, Friends!

It's down to the wire here for Christmas week!  How's the preparations going for you?   I have two books I'm waiting for my husband from the UPS guy...please hurry!  I did buy two other things if they don't arrive on time.  But, in the meantime, my oven has been working over time!  And, I think I'm finally done with the baking.  The above treats I made for my husband to take into his work.  I save a few goodies for us to eat.  My son loves the sugar cookies and gingerbreads.

Anyways, I do want to share a couple of cards I made with some Lawn Fawn cuties that I made a couple weeks go that I sent out to my sis-in-law and niece.  And, here they are...

Well, that's all for now.  Have a wonderful Merry Christmas and
a joyous New Year!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Holiday/Birthday Fun!

Lucretia, Donna, me, Cecilia, Christina

Hi, Friends!

How are those holiday preparations going for you?  I'm winding down to the home stretch...yeah!  I have some more baking to do and waiting on things to arrive in the mail, but I believe I have things under control.  I had a busy week last week with getting things ready for my sister's bday/holiday party last Sunday.  We had a great time as we always do!  My sweet sister, Lucretia, who is standing top left turned the big 60 last Sunday.  But, she doesn't look it!

I made some family cookie favorites of sugar and anise seed cut outs...

And, I made these cute snowmen for them to take home, too!

Inside these adorable snowmen are
 chocolate candy kisses!

I placed them in these pretty boxes for
them to take home.

I was so inspired to make these due to Char Cundy's
fabulous snowman, which can be seen HERE!

And, I wasn't finished with the snowmen yet...ha!
I made one more for my friend, Pat...

Well, back to more baking.  I'm making peppermint bark today...yum!
Thank so much for dropping by today!
Take care and Happy Holidays to you!

Hugs,
Maria

Hello there, friends!

Here is my third Christmas project that I created for the hop...

I started with a paper mache angel and painted it acrylic white paint twice.  I placed tulle fabric.  Trims, buttons, pearls, tinsel trim, and flower gems were added.  Feather trim for along the bottom and for the wings.  One angel is not enough, so I made two more.  There can't be just one angel in the family, right?!:-)  Here are the two small angels that I created...

Here is my second Christmas project that I created for the hop...

I started with a glass container and sprayed it with glitter on the inside and outside.  Iridescent snow flakes were placed on the bottom.  The church is an ornament, and I placed a star above the circular window and blue gems around the other windows.  Large snowflakes were placed on the sides and trims around the top.  Here are a couple more views...

The church lights up as you can see through the windows!  And, one more view of the trims along the top...

For my first project, I'd like to share with you my fabric strip Christmas tree!
And, here it is...

I was inspired by Melissa Phillips(lilybeanpaperie) to make the tree.  I didn't get a tree made for the challenge when they had it going on last month, but now it's done!  If you'd like to see the tutorial it's at the Papertrey Ink blog (Fabric Strip Christmas Tree Make It Monday #229).  The tree was easy to make by starting with a straw and spool.  I cut fabric strips and trims and tied them onto the straw.  The little tag was made using die and stamp from PTI.  The star was made by covering a star sticker with Faber Castell Luxe gold from MFT and sprinkled with gold glitter.  Please visit the list below to what amazing projects these talented ladies created!

The hustle and bustle of the season has begun!   The new December products are now available in the shop!  Debbie has designed a gorgeous tree with all the trimmings and a sweet adorable gingerbread as seen above!  And, below you will see what projects I created! And, here is my first project...

For my shaker card, I used the *new*  Sweet Cuts-Sugar and Spice for the gingerbread, which include all the pieces for the gingerbread and chevron border.  The sentiment is from the *new* Sugar and Spice.  The little gingerbread men are from the set Have a Holly Jolly Holiday.  The *new* sequin mix is Mistletoe.

My second project is a sparkle and shine card...

For my card I used the *new* Merry and Bright stamp set for the tree, which also includes the lights, garland, and sentiment.  The tree and bulbs were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Merry and Bright.  The bow is from the stamp set Holly Days and die cut using  Sweet Cuts-Holly Days,  The snowflakes are from the set Homemade with Love and die cut using Sweet Cuts-Homemade with Love.  The gift are from the set Trim the Tree.  And the snow was made using the die cut Sweet Cuts-Thanks Snow Much.  It's difficult to see but I placed a sequin- Snowflakes over the die cut snowflakes.  I made a French knot and then applied glitter for dimension.

My third project is using the *new* gingerbread again.  Mr. Ginger was my first project.  Well, he has been quite busy and has since gotten married.  And, Mr. and Mrs. Ginger now have twins...hehehe!

For my card, I used the *new* Sugar and Spice stamp set for the large gingerbreads and die cut them using Sweet Cuts-Sugar and Spice.  The small gingerbreads are from the set Ho Ho Ho.  The twine(Green Apple) is also from Paper Sweeties.

I have one final project to show you, which used the *new* gingerbread and tree along with many previously released sets.  And, here it is...

I used a memory tray for my Christmas project.  Lots of Paper Sweeties goodies!  A list of the products can be seen below.  A couple more views of the tray...

The clothes pin on the small gingerbread will be used to place on the numbered day of the Christmas countdown.  Lots of work for the memory tray, but it has lots of my favorite Paper Sweeties goodies on it! :-)

Ok, friends, thanks so much for dropping by!  Your next stop is tomorrow on December 4th with Nancy Penir(Artful Notions).  Please make a visit to her blog and view her awesome creations!  And, please continue to check out my teammates each day to see their wonderful projects!  Take care...
