Give Thanks...

Hi, Friends

I'd like to share with you a wine tag that I made today for my sis-in-law.  We are invited to her house for Thanksgiving.  I wanted to make a hostess gift for her and husband.  We went to Napa Valley on vacation in 2014 and ordered some wine.  So, we are giving them a bottle of Petite Sirah from Sequoia Grove.  It was one of my favs when we sampled wine at the winery.  I'm entering this wine tag over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where the theme is Thanks/Thanksgiving.  And, here are a few more photos...

I added the description of the wine onto paper and tucked it inside the little envelope and placed it on the back of the tag...

Thanks for dropping by today!  And, I wish for all my friends in the states a very Happy Thanksgiving!  I'm very grateful for you all...take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Peace, Joy, Love...

Hi, Friends!

Just thought I'd pop in quick to share with you one of my Christmas cards I made.  It is super easy peasy!  I started with a white card base and paired it with black and red paper.  The red paper is from American Crafts.  I made a tag from a panel from Lawn Fawn.  Twine from Paper Sweeties(green apple) to finish the card.

In light of all the things happening in our world, we could certainly use more peace, joy, and love!  Two of my friends were overseas recently.  The one was in Paris and due to fly out the evening everything happened.  We thank the dear Lord she made a safe return!  And, my other friend and her husband made it back a couple days ago from Italy!  We take so many things for granted.  So, yes, peace, joy, and love to you, my dear friends!

One more thing...

Visions of SugarplumsLori  Hairston has hosted the Christmas hop for several years now.  There will be three days of fun beginning December 6th with wonderful Christmas creations from several talented designers!  You won't want to miss out seeing all the awesome Christmas inspiration!

25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Hi there!

Paper Sweeties was invited by Tracey McNeely, to participate in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags Blog Hop!

I decided to make Christmas ornament tags out of wool felt.  While we were in Amish Country(Berlin, Ohio) a few weeks ago, I purchased some wonderful wool felt.  I wanted them to have a Victorian old style look to them.  And, here they are...

I crocheted the flowers with pearl cotton and die cut the hearts from the set Sweet Cuts-Be Happy.  The hearts were attached to the flowers with a French knot.  The trees and bows are from the set Sweet Cuts-Stitched-Tags#2-mitten/tree.  I sewed two layers of the trees together with a blanket stitch.  Here is the back of one of the tag/ornaments...

My sister's birthday is in December, so I plan to give her these as one of her birthday gifts.  I had lots of fun making these and plan to make more!  Please stop by my teammates to see what awesome tags they created!  Have fun!

Sweet New Baby

Hi, there!

TGIF!  Seems like ages that I've been here posting a card.  I've had the flu off and on all week...grrr!  But, anyways I managed to make a baby card for a baby shower in a couple weeks.  My nephew's wife will be having a baby girl, Taylor, next month...how exciting!  I crocheted an afghan, bought a couple outfits, and cross stitched Taylor's name onto this darling little monkey...

I didn't have a pattern to copy from, so I had to wing it.  Her name isn't exactly spaced correctly, but I still think it's adorable!  The guys are invited to the shower, too...so fun!  They are to bring diapers and wipes.  And, they'll be off in another room having their own party!

I posted the afghan back in January and I'm now using it as a gift.  I like to have a couple made up beforehand.  I have a blue one done.  And, I'm finishing up another white one.

Well, that's all for now!  I hope you have an awesome weekend!  Thanks for dropping by!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

I got out little Jake and die cut him with the coordinating die Sweet Cuts-Jake.  He was colored with copics.  His outfit, turkey, and sentiment are from the stamp set Gobble Gobble.  The sunflowers are from the set Stand Add-on:Fall Harvest.  And, the corn stalk and pumpkins are from the set Stand Add-on:Scarecrow.  They were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Stand Add on:Scarecrow.  The fence was die cut using Sweet Cuts-Home Tweet Home.  The grass was die cut using Sweet Cuts-Thanks Snow Much.  And, the twine is Creamsicle.

Dies R Us ChallengeTeam A-FALL(leaves, pumpkins, harvest)

Hi, there!

Happy November 1st!  It's time for the Dies R Us Challenge!  The theme is FALL-leaves, pumpkins, and harvest. And, soon it'll be time for Thanksgiving!  Yummy food with pumpkin pie..mmm!

For my card, I started with kraft card sock and used K&C, and MFT paper.  The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties(Autumn Blessings).  And, the sunflowers are also from Paper Sweeties(Stand Add-on:  Fall Harvest).  The trees are from Paper Smooches.  I got creative and made the pumpkins using Paper Smooches(Toppers) dies.  The pumpkin dies I had are no long available in the Dies R Us store, so I needed to improvise.  And, the leaves are from Spellbinders(Cherry Pickin').  The twine is from PTI and the dots are from Doodlebug.

Ok, friends, you have until  November 13th to enter.  And, remember there will be a $10 winner for the challenge!  There are so many choices at Dies R Us store!  And, new items are added all the time!  I'd love to see your project in the challenge...happy creating!

Would you like more inspiration?  Check out some amazing creations from my talented teammates!
