Easter...

For the above Easter card, I used Ken Oliver color bursts ink powders.  I do like how it seems to give depth for the grass.  The images were colored using zig markers.  The images are from Sunny Studio.  I just love the adorable lamb in this set!  Gold dots to finish the card.

Next up, for this Easter card, I used a Tim Holtz stencil and sponged on distress inks in pastel colors.  For some reason, it was difficult to get a good photo.  The cross die cut and sentiment are from Simon Says.  The scalloped panel was die cut using a die from Mama Elephant.  A heart gem added to finish the card.

For my last card, I used distress inks for the background and a stencil.  The cross is a sticker with a gem added to the center.  The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  And, the scalloped oval frame is from Paper Sweeties.  Gold shine spray to finish the card.

I had lots of fun making these Easter cards.  Well, I better scoot for we have plans to visit with two sis-in-laws for lunch.  We have about a two hour trip to see them.  My sis-in-law, Kim, flew in from AZ and staying with her sis, Lisa.  It will be good to see both of them.  Ok, that's all for now, my friends!
Take good care and Happy Easter!!

Hugs!

With Sympathy...

Hi, Friends!

I'd like to share with you two sympathy cards that I made recently.  The first card is to our friend, Rick.  His dear wife(our dear friend), Shelley, passed away a couple weeks ago.  She passed away on my husband's birthday.  Rick is so kind that he even thought of wishing my husband a happy birthday at the same time he told us of Shelley's passing.

We had plans to visit our son that evening to celebrate my husband's birthday.  Isn't it strange how life happens?  I thought about cancelling the plans, but thought Shelley wouldn't want it that way.  In fact, I guess life has a way of being bittersweet when you least expect it.  There are final good byes and there are celebrations at the same time.  Our son was so sweet and kind.  He took us to a very nice place for dinner.  It helped to ease our sadness.  Life does go on and now we help Rick through the difficult time.  Last week I made chocolate chip cookies for him and we dropped in for a quick visit.

Anyways, the cards below are fairly simple cards.  The first one is for Rick and the other is for his step-daughter, Melissa.

Rick has a boat and loves to fish, so I thought he would appreciate this card.

Melissa loves flowers, so I knew she would appreciate this card.

Both cards were made with water color using zig markers.  The stamp images are from Sweet 'n Sassy.

Ok, one more card.  I made many Easter cards and have mailed them out.  Here is one of my favorites...

For my card, I started with a yellow card base and  paired it with panels that were die cut using an MFT die.  The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  I used alcohol inks for the background.  The crosses are stickers with gems added to the centers.  I may pop in again before the end of the week with more Easter cards that I made.  Wishing for you all a blessed Easter!  Take care!

Hugs!

Easter Blessings!

Hi, Friends!

It's time for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop!  I recently purchased a sweet digital image from Sweet 'n Sassy with a darling bunny!  I decided to make a card for Easter since it is right around the corner.  And, I would say that it's Easter weather here with the sun shining and warmer temps in the 60's.  Sheila and I enjoyed a nice walk in the sunshine today!

Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop(Friday, 3-19-21 to Friday, 3-26-21)

For my card,  I started with a white card base and die cut a panel with a Mama Elephant die.  I then applied Ken Oliver color burst yellow and green powders for the background.  Gold color shine was applied, also.  The images were colored with copics.  The bow is from Mama Elephant and the sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  Gold dots to finish the card.

I've been making lots of Easter cards and have continued to get my fingers and hands all inky, but so very fun!  I got out my neglected alcohol inks, too.  I now have green thumbs, lol!  I hope I can say that when I plant more rose bushes in a couple months!

Ok, that's all for today, my friends!  Take good care and enjoy your day!

Hugs!

Dies R Us Challenge-March 15, 2021-Anything Goes!

We're doing something a little different today! We're partnering up with the Double Trouble Challenge Blog and having a joint challenge collaboration.  It's fun and easy and you have a chance to win prizes both here on the DRU Challenge as well as the Double Trouble Challenge!

I made the above St. Patrick's Day card for my husband.  The cross stitch panel was made using a die from Tutti Designs.  The shamrocks are from IO.  The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays and the leprechaun is from Inkadinkado.  I just love that smiling leprechaun!  He's smiling because he just found two pots of gold!

Here are the details for the challenge...

The theme for this challenge will be A Magical Day:

In order to qualify for the prizes offered at Double Trouble Paper Crafting Challenge, you'll need to follow these guidelines.
"A Magical Day"

Thing 1: Trouble Maker says, "We are going to recognize 'Everything You Think is Wrong Day' on March 15th, a day when nothing goes right. Picture this: Your crafting project just went wrong! Have you ever had a day like that... a day when nothing was going right? Yeah, me too."

"Don't give up... because things that went wrong will magically correct themselves at the stroke of midnight and we will be celebrating 'Everything You Do is Right Day' on March 16th! To get to this happy day, you had to get past yesterday."

"So let's include something MAGICAL on your crafting project (i.e. gnome, fairy, magician, wand, rabbit in a hat, pixie dust, unicorn, mermaid, Disney, etc.)."

You can stop here...
OR
you can continue to Twisted Sister's optional twist below.

Thing 3: Twisted Sister
says, "Trouble Maker, you were right! Everything went completely wrong yesterday but today is another day... it was magical and today everything seems to be going right. Whether or not you decide to play along with my twist we hope everything goes right for you."

"My optional twist is to use at least one metal die (a frame, an image, a sentiment, etc.) in your project and any brand is acceptable. If you have included a die(s) on your project you will receive another chance at the DTC random draw and you will have met Double Dare's requirement below."

Thing 2: Double Dare
says, "If you have created Thing 1's "magical" theme and have included at least one metal die on your project you are eligible to enter it at Dies R Us HERE
OR
If you have used any brand of die that Dies R Us sells you will be eligible for their random draw and earn a $10 gift certificate at their store. Your die may already qualify... click HERE to view the list of brands sold at DRU on the left-hand sidebar. Don't keep us guessing... include the brand of die used in your post."

So if you used a metal die to join our DRU Challenge and you've included the Magical theme, you have already completed all the requirements for both challenges.  If you've only used a die (but not the Magical theme), you are still eligible for our DRU Challenge, but it won't qualify for the Double Trouble Challenge.

(remember, you MUST use at least 1 metal die to qualify for the DRU prize... and please tell us the die company you have used in your project.)

All dies that were used for my card with links are listed below.  I hope you create a project using dies and join us for the challenge!

Dies R Us has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

My teammates have some fabulous inspiration for you today.  Sit back, relax, and take a look.... (you can click on their name to go to their personal blogs and get more detailed information about each project)
