Celebrating You...

Hi there!

Hope you're having a wonderful day!  I'm just popping in quick to share with you a card I made for Seize The Birthday challenge.  We are to make a birthday card and for the extra topping to add a background.  And, here is my card...

For my card, I started with a white card base and stamped the circles from Sweet 'n Sassy in distress inks of Mermaid Lagoon and Abandoned Coral.  The next background was made using a stencil from Wendy Vecchi.  The die cut behind the bird is from Reverse Confetti.  The bird from SU was colored with copics and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  A tiny bow made with pearl cotton to finish off the card.

I'm trying to break a bad habit that I have of not finishing the inside of the card until I need to mail it.  Do you do that, too?  Or, is it just me?:-)  Anyways, time to finish the inside of the card and take a peek to see if my tulips are up yet.  They seem to be taking forever!  Well, that's all for now.  Take care and have an awesome day!

Hugs,
Maria

Fabulous is what you are...

Hi there!

It's the weekend...yeah!  We have a busy weekend filled with fun things to do.  Today we will be attending a wedding.  My best friend's daughter is getting married!  It's hard to believe that she is all grown up and now having her special day.  And, she is marrying her dream boat fireman.  I can hardly wait to see her in her gorgeous wedding gown!

Anyways, I want to share with you a card I made for the Mod Squad Challenge

A closer view of the butterfly...

The theme is encouragement.  A friend had a loss in her family several months ago and I've been sending her cards.  She loves the color purple and butterflies.  So, I hope this card cheers her up.  For my card, I used die cuts from Reverse Confetti.  And, the butterfly is from MFT.  I used the smoosh technique with distress inks for the butterfly.  Sequins, thread, ribbon, and dots added for the final touch.

Ok, friends, that's all for now!  Whatever you have planned for the weekend I hope it's a great one!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

MIM #209: White on White Die Cuts with a Pop of Color...

Hi there!

Happy Thursday to you!  I'd like to share a card with you using a technique that Lexi demonstrated over at Papertrey Ink!  What a great way to dress up a CAS card, don't you think?  So many possibilities...how fun!

For my card, I started with a white card base and die cut several pieces of the Bigger Blooms dies from Papertrey Ink.  The pop of color was made using Authentique paper and a pink candy dot added from SU to the center.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, also.  So, there you have it another quick birthday card for my stash.

Thank you for dropping by!  Take care and have a great day!

Happy Birthday!

Hi there!

TGIF!  It's a lovely day here in NW Ohio with blue skies and sun shining...yeah!  Signs of spring are here with buds on the trees and lush green grass.  I'm waiting for my yellow tulips to bloom.  When they bloom, I'll post some photos!

Anyways, I thought I'd pop in and share with you a card I made for the challenge over at Sparkle and Shine Challenge!  I do like things that sparkle and shine, so I got out my glitter and sequins!:-)  The stamped image of the beautiful flowers is from Penny Black and I colored it with copics.  The sentiment is from PTI.  And sequins, which are from Pretty Pink Posh to finish off the card.  As you can see, I followed the above sketch for the challenge and came up with this card...

Well, that's all for now.  Thanks so much for viewing my card today!  Hope you have a great weekend!  Take care!

Paper Sweeties April Release Rewind!

Hi Friends!

I'm back today for the Release Rewind, which means we combine the new stamps with previous released stamps.  And, I used lots of Paper Sweeties goodies on this card today!

I started with a white card base and used Tumbled Glass Tim Holtz distress ink for the sky.  It's difficult to see it with the light shining on it, but it makes for a pretty sky background.  The tree and tire swing were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Tree of Life.  The leaves and bird were die cut using the Sweet Cuts-Tree of Life add-on:spring.  The bird is from the stamp set Tree of Life add-on:spring and colored with copics.  The clouds are from the stamp set Happy Fall Ya'll.  The sentiments on the clouds are from the stamp set Sending Springtime.  Jake was stamped and colored with copics and die cut using Sweet Cuts-Jake.  His outfit is from the stamp set You're A Superstar.  The cat and dog are from the stamp set Sweeties Pets.  And, the bunny is from Hippity Hoppity.  And, here is a closer view of the cute little critters...

Well, I hope you enjoyed this month's release!  I sure did!  And, have fun hopping along with the blog list below for more inspiration!

For my card, I started with a kraft card base and added strips of red paper for the sides and top.  The tree, swing, and grass were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Tree of Life.  The birds, owl, butterfly, and flowers were stamped using the Tree of Life add-on:spring stamp set.  They were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Tree of Life add-on:spring.  The leaves were die cut using the same dies.  The clouds were stamped using the Sending Sweet Thoughts.  They are actually the topping for a cupcake, but they are clouds today...lol!  And, they were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Sending Sweet Thoughts.  The sentiment that the owl is holding is from the stamp set Beautiful.  To finish off the card I used Paper Sweeties bakers twine(Strawberry).

Another view of the little bird and owl...

You will want to visit my teammates to see what lovely creations they came up with...

Hi there!

Happy Wednesday to you!  I'd like to share with you a card I made for Cardabilities Challenge!  Dies R Us is sponsoring the challenge, and the winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to the store!  What a fun and interesting sketch to follow, don't you agree?  Without further delay, here is the card I created...

For my card, I started with a purple card base and paired it with white.  The scalloped border was placed on both sides, which is from La La Land Crafts.  The floral paper is from K&Company.  The white decorate doilies were die cut, and they are from MFT.  Small flowers were stamped and colored with copics on the large doily die.  Pearls were added.  The layered flower was die cut using the Spellbinder Rose Creations dies.  And, the die cuts behind the flower, which looks like a vine is from Dee's Distinctively.  All the dies can be purchased at the DRU store...

Hi there!

Just one more day before the release day for the *new* Paper Sweeties products!   Today I am highlighting the Tree of Life add-on:spring stamp set!  Isn't that little owl just too cute up on the tree limb?  He's looking down on the wheel barrel full of pretty flowers.  They were die cut with Sweet Cuts-Tree of Life add-on:spring.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Occasions.  The top panel was embossed with a Darice embossing frame. Paper Sweeties April Release Sneak Peaks!

Hi, Sweet Friends!

Welcome to April Release Sneak Peaks!  Today I am highlighting both *new* sets to be released on 4-15-15!  Are you ready to enjoy some warm spring weather?  I sure am and these new stamp sets with dies will get you in that spring mood!:-)

For my card, I started with a blue card base and water colored the background.  Everything was water colored except for the clouds.  The tree and sentiment are from the set Tree of Life.  The birds are from the stamp set Tree of Life add-on:spring.  The tree and grass were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Tree of Life.  And, the birds, hearts, and leaves were die cut using Sweet Cuts-Tree of Life add-on: spring.  The fence was die cut using Sweet Cuts-Home Tweet Home.  And, the clouds were die cut using the cupcake top from Sweet Cuts-Sending Sweet Thoughts.  The final Paper Sweeties items used were the sequins(frosting) and twine(blueberry).  I water colored the fence with brown paint.  But, I went over it too much to where all I could see was the fence.  So, I painted it with acrylic white paint and just touched it up lightly with water color.  I have found that it's best not to go over something too much with water color.  Oh well, I'm still learning with it and it's fun!:-)

Thinking of you...

Hi Friends!

Hope your week has been going well!  I needed a couple of sympathy cards, which isn't always easy to do, but I thought the tulip image I colored will hopefully brighten their day.  I'm entering these cards over at Curtain Call.  And, here are my cards...

The paper is from MFT, PTI, and Paper Studio.  The tulip image is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  The images were colored with copics.  The stitched banner is from Lawn Fawn and the sentiment is from Paper Sweeties.  And, here are a couple close ups of each card...

Well, that's all for now.  I probably shouldn't be on the computer since we are having some bad weather here with rain and tornado warning in the next county.  I know that bad weather was due for quite a few states today.  So, take care and stay safe!  Thanks so much for viewing my cards today!  Have a great day!

Maria

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

I'm just popping in quick to wish everyone a Happy Easter!  I made the above card for my sisters.  I was going to color it in different colors for each sis, but decided I liked the yellow.  So, they all got the same type of Easter card.  And, I think...yeah...that's ok!:-)  The stamp is from Stapendous and the emboss folder is from Cuttlebug.  Paper is from SU and PTI.

We enjoyed a delicious family style dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.  We all had plenty to eat.  We wanted to take some photos outside, but it's very windy.  The temps should be in the 60's today and the sun is shining.  I will take this weather any time over the cold and snow!:-)  Well, that's about it for now except for the family photo...

Sorry for the bright light to the left.  It's so difficult to get a good photo inside our house.  Our son actually took a photo with my wind blown hair while trying to get a photo outside, but I quickly deleted it.  So, sorry, but you won't be seeing that one...lol!  Anyways,  thanks for dropping by today.  Take good care and have a wonderful blessed Easter!

Hugs,
Maria

Paper Sweeties April Inspiration Challenge #30-'Hoppy Easter'

Hi there!

Happy Easter to you!  Are you all ready for the Easter bunny to arrive on Sunday?  I'm ready as I'll ever be and I'm lucky that I don't have to cook for Easter.  We usually go out with family and eat at one of our favorite spots.  Home style delicious food with good company!  Whatever you have planned I hope you have a wonderful blessed Easter!

Since it's April 1st, it's time once again for Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge.  Beautiful bright colors with sweet Easter peeps for inspiration.  The winner of the challenge will be given a $20 gift certificate and an invite to be guest designer for the following month!  And, here is my card...

For my card, I started with a white card base and flicked on some water color with distress inks.  I then punched circles to place behind the chicks.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Baskets & Bunnies.  The chicks from the stamp set Hippity Hoppity Easter Wishes were colored with copics.  I stamped and colored another flower and wing for added dimension.  The chicks were die cut with Sweet Cuts-Hippity Hoppity Easter Wishes.  Gems were added for the eyes and twine(Blueberry) to finish off the card.  You will want to follow along with the list below to see what my fellow teammates created...have fun!

Hope to see your card over at the challenge!

Dies R Us April 1, 2015 Challenge (Team A)-"One for the Boys"!

Hi Friends!

Happy April Fool's Day to you!  You have a trickster in your house?  I used to work with a gal that loved to play tricks on us.  She would tape the toilet paper, put paper in our shoes, and she even sewed the doctor's pants along the hem together...lol!  She was too fun!:-)

Today, I'd like to share with you a card I made for Dies R Us Challenge!  The theme this month for Team A is "One for the Boys".  I knew that I would go with a hockey theme for my son plays hockey on a rec league.  So, for my card, I started with a black card base and paired it with silver.  On the white panel, I used Faber Castell ink in silver and just swiped it over and added a touch of water.  I did the same to the shirt.  The edges of the white panel were distressed with black soot distress ink.  The next layer is a stitched party banner from Lawn Fawn.  The shirt die is from MFT as is the Harlequin die at the side.  Stars were punched with an EK punch.  Hemp cord from Darice and a hockey stickers from Me & My Big Ideas to finish the card.

Ok, friends, get out those wonderlful dies!  You have until April 13th to enter.  The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to the Dies R Us store!  I'd love to see your project in the challenge!

The dies I used for my projects today are available in the store, which are listed below...
