Thinking of you!

Hi, friends!

It's been awhile since I posted on my blog.  I've been busy with painting a bedroom, visiting friends, and crafting with friends!  Last weekend I crafted Friday and Saturday and made many cards.  I have two to show you today.

For the above card,  I started with a white card base and paired it with a scallop panel that was made using a die from Mama Elephant.  I used a retired Verve stamp set for the flower images.  Ink blending for the background.  I made the frame with strips of black paper.  Gems were added to finish the card.

Next up, I made a similar card to the one seen above, but added another row of ink blending and a butterfly.  The butterfly is from Close to my Heart.

We finally get our deck done this past week.  So happy that the rain held off until the guy got it done.  The first attempt at painting the deck looked like a salmon color.  Thank goodness he asked us if it was ok before painting the whole deck.   Anyways, the guy did a great job and it's finished.  Now if only the birds would stay off the deck with their droppings, lol!

One more photo...

It has been a wonderful season for vegetables since we have been having tropical like weather...lots of rain and hot/humid days.  Many friends are saying their gardens are full of vegetables.  My husband planted three tomato plants and they are growing very well.  I can hardly wait to have fresh tomatoes right off the vine!

Ok, that's all for now.  Thanks so much for dropping by today!  I hope you are doing well in your corner of the world!  Take care, hugs!!

3rd Quarter 2021 Sweet Kit

Sweet Kits Club Subscription - SAVE $5 on each quarterly kit!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Release Rewind!  This is the day where we make projects using new and previously released products!  I have two cards to share with you today.  First up, is a fun shaker card!  I just love the pretty sentiments in the new set Sweet Mini FRIEND Add- on:  What's new!

The friend sentiment is from the new Sweet Mini FRIEND set.  It truly makes a statement in the large font!  The cell phone images are from the same set.  I made the frame using a previously released die, which is Sweet Cuts Square Scallop Frames.  The ribbon(Raspberry), gems, shaker mix, and paper are included in the kit.

Next up, is a card using the new set Sweet Mini FRIEND Add-on:  What's new.  The first two sentiments are from this set.  The friend sentiment is from a previously released set(Best Ever).  I did change up the letter (d) on the stamp to try and match the font on the other sentiments.  The bicycle is from a previously released stamp set, too.  It's from the stamp set(Hugs and Kisses).  I added flower stickers, a bow sticker, and washi tape from the kit for interest.  Twine and gold dots to finish the card.

For the inside of the card, I used a large Doodlebug die cut and washi tape from the kit.  The new large friend sentiment was embossed to match the embossed sentiments on the front of the card.

Isn't this a fun beach scene?  I wish I was there now, don't you?!  I think the darling bear is having a relaxing summer day!

For my beach themed card, I started with a white card base.  I sponged on distress inks with the colors of kitsch flamingo, broken china, salty ocean, spiced marmalade, and mustard seed.  The frame is from Lawn Fawn(Outside Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables).  All the images are from Lawn Fawn. They are from the set On the Beach.  The waves are from the set Float my Boat.  Brutus Monroe Pearl Shimmer Mist was applied to the images and behind the sun.  Twine and dots to finish my beach card.

The links for the dies are listed below...

Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Get Well Soon!

Hi, Friends!

It certainly feels like summer around here...hot and humid!  Whew!  I'll be glad when it cools down.  My husband planted a few tomato plants and they could use some rain.  We may get some rain today or tomorrow.  He is proud that we already see several tomatoes on the plants.  I told him he's becoming a master gardener!:-)  My other little member of the family, Sheila, has been busy hunting rabbits.  We had one that fools her every time.  It is so fun to watch!  Not much else is happening around here except for getting our deck repainted.  We decided to hire someone to do it.  My husband's knees just aren't what they used to be after having had knee surgery.  But, isn't it difficult to depend on someone else?  Maybe I'm turning into an old crochety woman.  People just don't have the manners now days to call when they don't plan to show up.  I hope and pray that it gets done soon because I might have a get-together with my sisters and having the deck done would be great!

Ok, off my soapbox now for I am here to show you a card that I made for my BIL.  We plan to take a meal and visit him today since he had triple bypass surgery.  He is progressing well.  It will be wonderful to see him and my sis for a visit!

I used this wonderful stamp image before from Sweet n' Sassy.  It seems to be a great stamp for guys who like to fish and enjoy time on the lake.  For my card, I embossed the image with black embossing powder and used my zig markers to water color.  The sentiment is from PI.  Stickles were added to the water  for a little shine.

Ok, that's all for today.  I hope you are doing well in your part of the world!  Take care, hugs!!

Dies R Us Challenge July 1, 2021!(Anything Goes!)

Hi, there!

Happy July 1st and it's time for another Dies R Us Challenge!  All you have to do is use a brand of die that Dies R Us sells...easy peasy!  So, please come and join the fun and have a chance to win a gift certificate...enjoy creating!

For today's card, I made a patriotic birthday card for a friend's husband!  His birthday is on July 4th!  Our town plans to have fireworks this year over the river.  I'm looking forward to all the festivities!  I hope all of you in the USA have a fun safe July 4th!

For my card, I started with a white card base.  The Lawn Fawn stitched stars were die cut onto the card.  The dies do not cut completely through.  But, that's ok, for it did make a card that I'm please with for Ted's birthday.  I colored the outline of the stars with copic markers.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle.  The frame was die cut using IO Checkered Frames.  The paper that I used is from Doodlebug and twine to finish the card.

The inside sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy  and the firecracker sticker is from Doodlebug.

All dies that were used for my card with links are listed below.  I hope you create a project using dies and join us for the challenge!
