Hi, Friends!
It certainly feels like summer around here...hot and humid! Whew! I'll be glad when it cools down. My husband planted a few tomato plants and they could use some rain. We may get some rain today or tomorrow. He is proud that we already see several tomatoes on the plants. I told him he's becoming a master gardener!:-) My other little member of the family, Sheila, has been busy hunting rabbits. We had one that fools her every time. It is so fun to watch! Not much else is happening around here except for getting our deck repainted. We decided to hire someone to do it. My husband's knees just aren't what they used to be after having had knee surgery. But, isn't it difficult to depend on someone else? Maybe I'm turning into an old crochety woman. People just don't have the manners now days to call when they don't plan to show up. I hope and pray that it gets done soon because I might have a get-together with my sisters and having the deck done would be great!
Ok, off my soapbox now for I am here to show you a card that I made for my BIL. We plan to take a meal and visit him today since he had triple bypass surgery. He is progressing well. It will be wonderful to see him and my sis for a visit!
I used this wonderful stamp image before from Sweet n' Sassy. It seems to be a great stamp for guys who like to fish and enjoy time on the lake. For my card, I embossed the image with black embossing powder and used my zig markers to water color. The sentiment is from PI. Stickles were added to the water for a little shine.
Ok, that's all for today. I hope you are doing well in your part of the world! Take care, hugs!!
What a great card! I too love this image, it's great for so many occasions, including sympathy cards! Beautiful water coloring and I hope your BIL is doing much better after his bypass! Enjoy your visit :)
ReplyDeleteWow--what an incredible card, Maria! So glad your BIL is doing well after his surgery. I know what you mean about relying on workers. We've had the same problem in the past. Hope your deck gets done in time!
ReplyDeleteA Wonderful cheery card, with gorgeous colours Maria, Love it as I'm sure your BiL will too, I hope he's on his feet and on the road to recovery soon.
ReplyDeleteAs for depending on workmen, same here. We are due to have a fence erected in the next couple of weeks and I just hope they are as good as 25 years ago when they erected another fence in the garden?
Keep sane!
Faith x
My knees aren't what they used to be either... I did my first exercise class yesterday after almost a year and it was hard and painful Lol! And I get you with manners these days... they just don't exist.
ReplyDeleteYour card however is a joy and so beautifully done. How I would love to be sailing away in the sunset... Well I can dream. Have a super weekend
Such a peaceful and beautiful card with a fabulous image x. Yes I agree with you too about relying on workmen etc x. 'YAY' to your husband becoming a master Gardener!!.... lol x.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent masculine card. The sky looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteSending speedy recovery wishes to your BIL.
