Mascluine Cards...

Hi Again!

*Please remember to comment on my blog candy, which is due on
8-10-12.  You can click on the photo of my candy on the side bar.*

I hope you are having a great weekend!  I needed some masculine cards
made up to thank my son and his friend.  My son's friend, Charlie,
brought back some yummy goodies of peaches and strawberry rhubarb
jam while visiting with his parents in North Carolina.  So, the above
card is for Charlie.  The next card is for my son, Jeremy...
He worked very hard on getting our computer back in working order.
New parts were bought, but the parts were defective.  He had to send
them back to the factory.  Anyways, it was a long process!  And, we
are so happy to have our computer back again!  I don't have a computer
stamp, but he does play hockey in a rec league.  So, I  colored the hockey
image with colored pencils for this card.  I recently bought the star
embossing folder.  I thought I could also use it for other occasions
such as 4th of July, Christmas, and birthdays.  I love
the added touch it gave for this card.  Well, thanks so much
for dropping by today!  Time to enjoy some evening weather
by taking a short bike ride.  Take care, hugs!

Blog Candy!!!

***BLOG CANDY!!!***

Hi Friends!

I'm late posting this for my blog candy, but here it is now!  July 24th was
my second year blog anniversary!  I didn't offer any blog candy last year, so
I am hoping this collection of goodies makes up for it!

Anyways, I want to express my deep gratitude to all my blog friends out
there!  It is just amazing the friendships that are made in the craft blog
world!  So many people have given me support, inspiration, and friendship.
I think back on some of my first cards that were made and think I have
come a long way because of you, friends!  It gives me so much pleasure
to relax and create.  And, I love seeing all your creations, too!  So,  I
will have the blog candy up for two weeks until August 10th.  You may
become my blog follower, if you wish.  I will not make that a stipulation.
I will have my husband pick a number out of a hat on August 10th!

Again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your
support and great friendships!!!  Take care, hugs!

Good Luck!

Hi Friends!

I didn't think it would take me this long to get back to posting on my blog!
Life certainly does get in the way of crafting!  Work has been
busy ...busy!  Also, my mother-in-law was sick last week.  But, she is doing
much better.  I've had some back issues and got a test yesterday.  We
shall see what the doctor says next week.  Please keep me in your
prayers regarding that since I have been battling this back pain off
and on for nearly a year now.  So many things are going through my
head such as if it's not good news what would be my work limitations,
etc.  But, I just need to take it one day at a time...sigh.

OK...on to my card!  This card is for our secretary who is changing
jobs.  She is moving to another department.  So, it is good that we
will still see her from time to time.  I have worked with her for nearly
fifteen years.  We will miss her dearly.  She always is there to help
when needed...a real sweetheart!  Peggi, our secretary loves flowers,
so a card with flowers was made with sentiment of  "Good Luck"
inside the card.  I made the card large enough for all of us to sign.
Another nurse, Sue, in our department is making a garden decoration
for Peggi.  So, next week will be bittersweet of having a potluck party to
wish Peggi a fond farewell!  Thanks for dropping by today!  Take care, hugs!

'Elegance & Lace'

The lovely photo inspiration...

Hi Friends!

Elegance and Lace!  Ohhh...yes...I could not resist this challenge over
at the The Shabby Tea Room!  I'm also entering this card over at
Inspired by Stamping.  The above photo inspiration is filled
with elegant lace and flowers.  So, I went with elegance and lace with
my card.  I chose a sweet elegant lady from Crafty Secrets.  If you
look closely, she is holding a little bird in her hand.  I added two
more birds to the left to compliment the one bird.  I painted the base
of the card with white paint.  White and pink cardstock was sewed on
the edges.  Elegant lace was added to the image along with pink velvet
lace trim.  Doily border punch with pearls on the top and bottom
distressed with tea dye ink.  Seam binding with pink satin ribbon tied
in the center with a lovely prima flower to finish off the card.  Thanks
so much for dropping by today!  Hope you are having a wonderful
weekend!  Take care, hugs!

Birthday Greetings...

Hi again!

I didn't think I'd be here this soon posting another card...ha!  But, I neglected
to follow the rules for the challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches!
I forgot to add an item with wings!  So, I added the butterflies.  Oh,
at times I don't know where my mind is...hehehe!  Anyways, you can
scroll down on the previous post to see how this card was made.  That's
it for now...take care!

Birthday Greetings...

The inspiration sketch...

Hi there!

I hope your weekend is going well!  It's a little cloudy outside.  I think
they are calling for about 30% chance of rain.  Rain is needed so badly.
The corn crop is struggling with the lack of rain.  Maybe I should go
out and do a little rain dance.  But, if I did that, I think they neighbors
would report me to the mental health guys in white uniforms...lol!

Anyways, my card posted today is for the challenge over at
Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I filled the jar with sparkly strawberries.
I stamped the strawberries onto paper and applied chipboard for more
stability.  Stickles were added to the strawberries especially along the
right side.  I free handed the tops of the strawberries and outlined
them in white gel pen.  The little flowers were fussy cut with tiny
red buttons sewed to the centers with twine.  Gems, border punch, and
sewing to finish off the card.  Whatever you do this weekend...have fun!
Thanks so much for dropping by today, take care!

Happy Birthday!

Hi there!

How are things with you?  It was quite a change going back to work after
having had two weeks off for vacation.  But, I work with a great group of
gals, and we work as a great team.  One co-worker said to me, "I'm happy
to see that you are back again."  And she added, " I mean, I am really
really happy to see you again!"  Hehehe, we are teammies!  Barb and I
are alike in personality and just go to each other all the time to help
each other out.  So, it was nice hearing her say that sweet comment!

I seem to be gravitating towards green lately.  These colors are great
for a summer birthday card.  So, I thought how fun to enter the challenge
over at The Paper Players and have another birthday card on hand.  The
card is pretty self-explanatory.  And, no sewing or seam binding on
this card!  Huh?  Yep, that's right!  Well, I thank you for dropping by today!
Take care, hugs!

Wishing You...

Hi Friends!

Are ya staying COOL?!  Whew, a hot day again for another
day or two!  I so hope it cools down for Sunday because we plan
to take my Mom to a concert in the park!

The exciting news around here is that Obama made an unplanned
stop here in our town yesterday at our little restaurant!!!  And, darn
it, we didn't even get to see him!  We were out shopping and
went to a movie.  Obama also made a stop at one of our
orchards nearby.  I won't go into what my political views
are, but I think having the president stop in our town is exciting!

Ok, now on to my card.  This card is for my sis to celebrate
their anniversary.  I used paper from DCWV.  I just love
this paper for summer cards, so pretty!   I used three different punches,
gems, and pearls to brighten up the card.  Ribbon, pearl cotton, and
sewing to finish off this creation.  Thanks so much for dropping by
today, take care!

Paper:  DCWV, Kraft Outlet
Stamp:  Verve
Ink:  SU(Lucky Limeade)

Tea Party!

Hi there!

It was time to take a break and go to my craft room last night!
Oh, how I missed my crafting time!  The Shabby Tea Room is having
a fun challenge this week!  It calls for incorporating the colors from
the inspiration photo and to have an invitation theme.  I am happy
how this pocket card turned out.  It is my first attempt at one.  My
friend, Nancy, made one and gave me the dimensions.  Just email
me if you are interested on how to make this card.  I'm also entering
this card over at Papercraft Star and The Ribbon Reel.

Anyways, I ran out of the background paper, so I wasn't happy
about that, but certainly wasn't going to start over.  A lesson
learned there, of course.:-)  But, I did get out my embossing powder
and put gold emblossing around the tea cup edges and small
flourishes in the corners. The doily and sentiment were distressed
with tea dye ink.  Some yummy seam binding was addded along
with a fab button, twine, and pearls!  This pocket card was fun and
easy to make.  I know I'll be making more of them!

Here is the inspiration photo...

Vacation Pics...

Hi there!

How's everything in your world?  It's hot hot hot here in NW Ohio.  It was hot in
Key West last week while we were vacationing, but even more hot here...whew!
I have a feeling we are in for a HOT summer!  Thank goodness for air
conditioning!  I'm slowly getting back to the usual here.  I'm still off for the rest
of this week from work, but the house cleaning need my attention.  I cleaned a
neglected closet and garage windows today, dresser drawers, and laundry.
We took time out to watch the fireworks...always fun!  And, I thank God for
our freedom!  A big THANK YOU for all our servicemen who make
that possible!!!  I hope you all have a great 4th of July holiday!

OK,  on to my vacation pics.  We got some very lovely sunset pics that I'd like to share...
One more sunset pic...
Here is the iguana we saw crawling up the palm tree
right outside our hotel room...
Isn't he cute?? :-))

Pic of hubby and me at southernmost point of USA...

Nope, didn't do the parasailing, but it did look fun!
You still with me?

Gorgeous flower...

Hemingway house...

And, there are about 40-50 cats who live at
Hemingway house that are polydactyl, which
means that some have 6 toes.  They
are darling sweet cats!
One more sunset before saying goodnight...
take care!
