Feel Better Soon...

Hi Again!

How are you doing on this lovely Sunday afternoon?
I just want to share with you a quick card I made for
a friend who recently had surgery.  I remember this
friend who wore a sweater the color of the darker
blue on the card.  It is the Stampin' Up color of  "Island
Indigo".  I just love all the colors that they came
out with last year!  Anyways, I thought it would
be safe to go with that color for her card.  As
you can see, the card is fairly simple with all
Stampin' Up items except for the twine, punch,
and pearls.  Inside the card is a sentiment...feel
better soon.  Well, that's it for now since the laundry
is calling my name.  Thanks so much for dropping
by!  Have a wonderful day!  Take care, hugs!

Wish Big!

Hi there!

How are you doing today?  I had some craft
fun last night and wanted to share this card
I made for my niece, Sophia.  She turns eight
next month.  I couldn't resist buying this stamp
because her name is Sophie, and isn't she sweet?!
I thought she would be perfect for my darling
little niece's birthday card!  You can check
out all the little sweet stamps and yummy ribbon
over at Paper Sweeties!  I'm entering this card
for the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room.

Here is the lovely inspiration photo....

I handmade a crocheted flower, which I still
need practice with, but practice makes perfect!
So, here is a closer view of the crocheted flower...

Ok, so you are saying where are the petals...ummm
....I tried...hehehe!  And, I'll try again!  I do so much
better when someone shows me in person!  My sis
taught me how to crochet many years ago when I was
twelve.  I've since made many afghans, scarves, and
one sweater attempt, which I never wore...lol!

Anyways, I added yummy ribbon from Paper Sweeties
with a pretty brad over the flower.  I got out my copic
markers and colored little Sophie.  Gems and sewing
were added to finish the card.  Hope you are getting
your craft on and having lots of fun!  Thanks so much
for dropping by today!  Take care, hugs!

Happy Fall!

Hi there!

I'm already feeling the crispness of the fall air even though the
calendar still says summer.  I just returned from a bike ride, and I
I wished I would have had a sweater on!  I wanted to give a little
something to a co-worker, so I came up with this little project today.
I already had the library card, so all I had to do was "pretty" it up a little.
I made a tag for the inside.....

My sewing machine was not cooperating, so the sewing is off a bit...grrrrr!
I had fun distressing the leaves with Tim Holtz inks and fussy cut them.  The
large cream leaf is from an EK punch.  I added a button with twine and brads.
I wanted to add some ribbon, but it just didn't look right.  Oh, how I love
seam binding ribbon, so I did add some on the tag!:-)  What fall projects are
you working on?

Well, I must scoot to do my back exercises.  My back is doing better and
I'm doing exercises to strengthen my core.  I used to do back exercises long ago,
but got away from it.  I've had back surgery in the past.  I guess I thought
I was still young that I didn't need to do them.  But, my age is catching
up with me...sigh.  Isn't it tough getting old??  The good thing is that
I am feeling better!  And, I thank so many of you who have given me
support!  Take care and have a wonderful week, hugs!

IBSIC#22-Featured Artist

Hi Friends!

I am truly honored!  I was recently asked by Joanna Munster with
Inspired by Stamping to be the featured artist for a week!
She as the most wonderful sketches/inspiration photos to follow for the
challenges! Please check out her wonderful line of stamps and
embellishments....gorgeous!

So, the challenge this week was to follow this fab sketch...

I couldn't wait to see what goodies I could come up with to do this sketch
justice!  I used a Tattered Angels frame and sprayed it with glimmer
mist.  A few dies were used for the focal point.  I felt something was
missing, so I adhered silver glass in the center near the sentiment.  Lace,
ribbon, pearls and a beautiful Prima flower were added to finish off the
card.

Please go over and check out the super amazing blog and play along.  You
will be inspired by the very talented design team!  Thank you so much
for dropping by today!  Take care, hugs!

Wish Big!

Hi Again!

How are you doing?  Hope your day is going well for you!
This is my second post for the day!  I made this card for my son's birthday.
His birthday is not until next month, but I thought this color scheme
would be great for a masculine card.  I had fun playing with the
fab dies from My Favorite Things!  I'm entering this card over
at The Paper Players.   When my son looks at my shabby
cards with lots of embellies and layers, he tell me, "Over the top too much,
Mom." :-)  So, I made this card very simple for you, Jeremy.:-)  Don't
worry he doesn't read my blog...hehehe!  Ok, I need to scoot to start
dinner.  Thanks for stopping by today...take care, hugs!

food and fun to celebrate her day!  I just made these little invites very
simple.  This Jillibean Soup paper is just too CUTE!  I love those little
owls!  I added tiny gems to their party hats and glossy accents to the
balloons for dimension.  And, a polka dot green ribbon to finish
off the card.  Ok, I must go and tidy up my craft table.  Don't look it's
a mess over there...lol!  Thanks for dropping by...take care, hugs!

The Ribbon Reel Challenge.  We were to go retro and follow the colors in this
awesome inspiration photo...
It was certainly quite a challenge to me!  I probably should have went with
more orange than red.  But, I was trying to get a retro feel for the card also.

Birthday Wishes

Hi there,

I would like to share with you the card I made yesterday for the
challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room .  This card is also for a challenge
at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Here is the lovely photo inspiration we
were to follow for The Shabby Tea Room...

This challenge was right up my alley, because I love working with kraft and
cream colors!  I had a doily that I bought from Amish country a couple years
ago and knew it would be perfect for this card.  I also got out my needle, floss,
and aida cloth and did some stitching to add a layer of interest.  I cut part
of the doily and added tiny flowers in the center beside the beautiful large
Prima flower.  Ribbon with a fab Tim Holtz button, sewing,
and gems to finish off the card.  And. the super sketch we were to follow
from Tuesday Morning Sketches....

Whatever you have planned for today and the weekend I hope ya have
a great one!  Take care and thanks so much for visiting here today!

Shadow...

Hi Friends!
Just wanted to share a few photos of our dog, Shadow.
He loves going for a ride in my husband's truck.
Shadow knows when my husband gathers up the
recyclables it's time for a truck ride!

Here's Shadow saying...awww... come on...
open the door already!:-)

And, here is the big guy all happy in the back
seat waiting for my husband to start
up the truck to have a fun ride...
vrooom vroom!

Happy Birthday!

Hi Friends!

*Just a reminder before this Friday, August 10th, please leave a comment
for my blog candy!  Good luck!*

I just wanted to share a simple birthday card I made for my nephew, Curtis.
Here is a photo of Curtis and me at his first year birthday party last year.

He's a little sweetheart!  And, he is a big boy!  I would not be able to
carry him around for very long.  He lives about two hours away, so
we don't see him very often.  They grow up so fast.  I miss him, the
little darling!

Speaking of children, I'm an aunt again!  My sister just told me today
that she is a Grandma once again.  She has four grandchildren now.
Her son Tim and daughter-in-law, Lydia, welcomed a little girl into the
world today.  What a blessing!  I'm going to have to get my back into
shape to carry and hold these little ones...hehehe!

Well, I think I'll go and watch some olympics before going to bed.
Aren't they exciting?!  I love watching all the sports for the olympics.
I can't really say I have a favorite one to watch.  Do you have a
favorite one?  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I appreciate
all your support and sweet comments!  Take care, hugs!!!

Thank you...

Hi Friends,

Just an update on my back condition.  I got an MRI last week and saw the doctor
yesterday.  I have two bulging discs in my back.  It was not what I wanted to
hear to say the least.  I work as a nurse.  My boss is great in accomodating my
condition.  My co-workers are wonderful also.  I'm sure they will help me when
needed regarding lifting.  I feel as if my world is turned upside down.  Also, the
doctor told me not to bowl this season.  I am an avid bowler.  I have bowled for
years.  My teammates and I go to at least two bowling tournaments every year.

Anyways, I know I must care for my back and heal.   I need to concentrate on
healing and getting better.   And, I certainly know it could be worse.  So, please
continue to  keep me in thought and prayer!  I thank you for your support...
blogging friends....take care, hugs!!!
