Dear Friends, Merry Christmas!

Dear Friends, Merry Christmas!

Are you putting the finishing touches on your
Christmas preparations?  I thought I'd take a
little break this morning and look over at my
my favorite challenge site, The Shabby Tea Room!
What a fun challenge that is going on this week!
You are to choose your favorite project for this past
year that was entered on that challenge site!

This card has a lot of my favorite items!  I used to have
fun doing cross stitching(before card making:-), so
it has aida cloth with some stitching.  There is text
background, doilies from Amish country, seam
binding.  Some more favs of mine are buttons, gems,
and gorgeous Prima flowers!  What is your favorite
card of the year?  I just love looking in blog land
and revisiting favorite cards of the year!

OK, I better scoot and make the pies and cranberry
salad.  My baking is done except for the pies.
Yesterday, after my husband and son returned
home from seeing a movie, they saw some
scruptious candies of buckeyes, chocolate
covered pretzels, chocolate haystacks, and Russian
tea cakes..mmmmm!  I thank you so much for
dropping by today!  May you have a wonderful
blessed Christmas and joyous New Year, hugs!

Thanks

Hi Friends!

Just a quick card I wanted to share with you that I
made for a Christmas thank you card.  I decided
to create a wintery scene.  I'm beginning to wonder
if we will have a wintery scene here in NW Ohio
this year.  We have gone beyond 280 days without
snow.  And, I believe it is a new record.  I can
remember last year having had snow by now.
Oh well,  maybe we'll have some in time for
Christmas.:-)

The pretty snowflakes were made using
a McGill punch.  And, the tiny red birds were
made using a Martha Stewart punch.  I added SU
dazzling details for the sparkle effect.   It's a quick
and easy card, but I like the end result.  Thanks
so much for visiting here today.  Take care, hugs!

Stamp:  Inspired by Stamping

Thoughts and Prayers...

Hi Friends,

My thoughts are on all the families and friends who
have suffered a loss on Friday relating to the events
that happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
We are deeply saddened by this horrific act on
such innocent people.  It is so difficult to understand.
I am hoping and praying for friends, family, and God
to be at the side of those in sorrow at this diffuclt time.
Take care, hugggggssss.

Merry Christmas!

Hi Friends!

Happy Holidays to you and yours!  How are you
coming along on all the Christmas festivities?  I
still have some baking and shopping to do, but
I think I have most of the preparations under
control.  I just received some notices in my email
this morning, so I informed my husband I ordered
some Christmas goodies for myself...hehehe!  Do
you do that, too?!

I am entering the above card over at the
Paper SweetiesThey have an awesome design
team with the sweetest stamps!  Go over
and take a look for you won't be disappointed!
I did some gold embossing on this card around
the Christmas tree and the snowflake buttons.  The
gold snowflake behind the tree is actually a tag
I bought at Bath and Body Works!  Hey, I'm thinking
whatever works, I'll use it...hehehe!  I think it
went well with the other little snowflakes.

Here is the sketch challenge that we were to follow:

Well, I have some more cleaning to do and a little
treat bag I want to make up for my friend's dog.
Oh, we do spoil our dogs, lol!  She has the sweetest
bichon frise that I've ever seen.  I just want to scoop
her up and take her home with me!

Ok, I have a couple more cards I want to post, but
will do later.  Take care and thanks so much for
dropping by today, hugs!

Happy Bday!

Hi Friends!

How are you doing today?  Getting those Christmas
preparations done?  I had to take a break from the
hustle and bustle and sit down to make a birthday
card for a girl I used to work with.  Three of us
girls still work together, but three have since gone
on to other jobs.  The one girl's birthday is on
Monday, and we are all meeting tonight for dinner.
We will have fun seeing each other again and get
caught up on what's going on in our lives.

I was going to make this card fairly simple, but I
kept adding here and there.  I started off with a
Bo Bunny sticker and adhered it to card board
for dimension.  I added the happy bday letter
stickers and gems.  I embossed the poinsettia
and oval circles.  Ribbon, buttons, and pearl
cotton to finish off the card.

Well, I better scoot here.  Thank you for
dropping by today!  Take care, hugs!

Joy, Joy, Joy...

Hi there!

I'm getting this card in just under the wire for
a challenge over at Paper Sweeties.  They have
darling sweet stamps and a marvelous design team.
Go on over and check them out.  You won't be
disappointed!

I had the idea for this card mulling around in my
head for a couple days, so this is the end result.
It was quite easy just a matter of a little stamping
and arranging the embellishments.  I colored a
few of the gems with my copic marker since I
didn't have the exact color I wanted.  I recently
received those Prima holly flowers and quickly
fell in love with them!  The felt flower and
snowflake are from K&Company.  I stamped
the word, Joy(Paper Sweeties), and applied
gems.  A bow made with pearl cotton to
finish off the card.

Here is the sketch we were to follow...

And, here is another view of my card...

Well, time to gather and put all my fall decorations away.
Wow, can you believe tomorrow is December already?!
This weekend we plan to put up the tree.  We will be
playing Christmas music and getting in the Christmas
spirit.  I recently bought a new Christmas CD by
Blake Shelton.  I'm quite please with it!  And, another
new fav singer of mine is Chris Mann.  You have
any new favorite Christmas music?

Anyways,  thanks for dropping by today!  Take care
and have a fantastic weekend, hugs!

'Just Neutrals'...

'Just Neutrals'

Hi Friends!

I'm hoping that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled
with great food, family, and friends!  We had a perfect
Thanksgiving and had a sweet surprise with my one sister,
husband, and three grandchildren who came later in the
evening.  We enjoyed dessert and visting with them!

Anyways, it's time again for the The Shabby Tea Room
challenge!  I'm guest desginer this month, which is my
final week.  It has been such an honor and pleasure to
be guest designer this month for my favorite challgenge
site!  It has been so much fun!  I have tried my best to
stretch my creativity to the fullest!

Here is the inspiration photo we were to follow for this
week...

We were to use neutral colors and include ribbon and
a sentiment.  I used sweet little pumpkins and sentiment
from Paper Sweeties!  I placed them on wooden shapes
from Close to My Heart.  I embossed the background
and the center circle.  The large wooden pumpkin
was placed over a foil embossed sticker and lined
with gems.  Burlap, doily gems, pins, and ribbon
for interest.  I also stamped the sweet little pumpkins on
the canvas fringe along the bottom to finish off the card.

I hope you play along this week for the 'Just Neutrals'
challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room.  Please note
all the fabulous inspiration from the design team!
We can't wait to see what you create for this challenge...
have fun and take care!

Cherish Love

Hi there!

Are you winding down from all the Thanksgiving
festivities?  I had a chance to get into my craft
room last night for some down time.  I came up
with the above card.  This is for the Paper Sweeties
challenge!  Their first card challenge!  All you
need to do is follow this sweet sketch as seen
below...

I love this new Christmas(My Mind's Eye) paper I
recently purchased.  I quickly went to work and got
out my glitter for all the snow and snowflakes.  The
wooden star was painted white and shined up with
lots of sparkly glitter!  Gems were place on the
snowflakes and ribbon to finish off the card.

Paper Sweeties have some darling sweet stamps!
Do go on over and check them out!  And, if
you have time, join in on the fun and create a
sweet project with this fun/easy sketch!

Well, it's time to take down all the fall decorations and
get out the Christmas ones.  It will take a few
days for me to decorate the whole house, but
it certainly gets me in the spirit!  Whatever you

Congrats Buckeyes!!!

Go Buckeyes!!!

Hi there Friends!

I didn't get around to posting this photos before, so
I thought what a perfect time to do so today.
We just got done watching our favorite football team
today go 12-0 for a perfect season!!!  They cannot go
to a bowl game this year.  But, having such a season
says it all!  In the above photo I'm with my
sister-in-law at the Purdue v. Ohio State game on
October 20th a few weeks ago.  That game was a
real nail biter, which went into over time!  Ohio
State won with score of 29-22!

Here's a photo of my husband and his brother-
in-law, and me...

A photo of the drum major.  That hurts my back
just looking at this...LOL!:-)

Pink pom poms and shirts for Susan
B. Komen day!  Pink towels were given
out to everyone at the game.

Today with team and coach, Urban
Meyer, after the win against Michigan!

Thanks for taking the time to stop
by today and take a look at my OSU

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Friends!

I just want to wish you and yours a very Happy
Thanksgiving!  It's a time to reflect and count our
many blessings!

Are you getting together with family and friends on
this wonderful day?  I hope you have great food and
fun times on this special day!

I have a special thank you at this time since my
Mom had great news at her doctor appt. yesterday.
We were very worried for our Mom.  Of course,
she was worried also.  I won't go into detail, but our
prayers were certainly answered...thank the Lord!
I'm so looking forward to our Thanksgiving meal
this afternoon to be with family and great food.  A
blessing indeed!  The cranberry salad and pumpkin
pies are made.  My husband is in charge of the turkey.
We just have the finishing touches to be done.

Let me also take this time to say thank you so much

It is so appreciated!  I love creating and learning.
In the past few years I have gotten so much joy

and fun for me!  So, I thank you from the bottom
of my heart for the true blessing of you all!  May
you have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with

Wish Joy!

Hi there!

It's time for another Shabby Tea Room Challenge!
I am the guest designer for this month And, I am
having so much fun!:-)

Just look at this beautiful sweet wintery scene with
the ice skate for the inspiration photo!

It brings back wonderful memories of skating when
I was young.  We used to walk down to the park and
go skating.  We also had a neighbor who had an ice
skating rink.  I was sweet on one of the neighbor boys
and he taught me how to skate backwards.  We had fun
sitting by the fire drinking hot chocolate!:-)

Anyways, one is to follow the colors in the photo and
choose three items on this TIC TAC TOE board!  How
fun is that??!!  Three in a row...up, down, or
diagonally.  Here is the board...

It was time consuming making this card, but well
worth it!  I fussy cut the greenery.  It's difficult to
tell, but I also snipped the edges and added distress
ink.  I embossed the skate blades, pine cones,
greenery, and holly leaves.  A piece of vellum and
doily was added behind the skates.  I wanted to give
the skates some dimension, so I added the tiny vintage
brads.  I do love those brads!  I must order more...lol!
A sweet tag and seam binding from Paper Sweeties!
Trim, pearls, and gems to finish off the card.

I thank you so much for dropping by today!  Go on
over to the Shabby Tea Room to join in on the fun!
Take a look at what the fab design team has created
for inspiration!  We will be anxiously awaiting to
see what you create for this challenge!  Take care, hugs!

Sweet Shabby Christmas!

Sweet Shabby Christmas!

Hi Friends!

How are you?  I'm doing well here after having had
a wonderful birthday weekend!  I got together with
one of my crafty friends and made Christmas cards
yesterday.  She took me to lunch to a quaint sweet
little coffee shop here in town.  I had the best
chicken salad sandwich, soup, and mocha coffee...
yummm!  We then met up with some family for
dinner since my nephew has his birthday on the
same day and had more fun!  I'm happy dancing
here because next week I'm on vacation...yeah!
We may go to Amish Country for a day or two.
I always look forward to seeing the crafts and
super delicious food!

OK, anyways about my sweet shabby Christmas
project.  This little gem was sooo fun to make.
And, I'm very happy how it turned out.  I am
guest designer this month for The Shabby Tea Room.
The challenge calls for one to make a project that
includes shimmer or glitter and to make it shabby.

Here is the gorgeous photo inspiration to follow...

I placed lots of yummy layers with felt and doilies
for the focal point.  A silver doily cut and placed
behind the lovely resin tree.  Yummy seam binding
ribbon, a sparkly gem brad to finish off the focal
point.  Snowflakes were embossed with sparkly
white fine powder.  The highlight was placing
the pom pom trim and glitter trim around the lid.
To finish off the  star lid, I placed pieces of a doily
with buttons in the corners.  I so loved making this
project that I just might make another one!

So, please stop over at The Shabby Tea Room to
see what the amazing design team created for
this Sweet Shabby Christmas challenge!  Join
in on the fun, because we would love to see
your amazing project!  Thanks so much for
dropping by today!  Take care, hugs!

Hi there!

It's the month of November already...whew!  Before ya
know it Christmas will be here!  The days just fly by
too fast for me!  And, as you all know it's voting day.
Did you get out there and vote yet?  I'm so glad that
we did early voting on Sunday.  I didn't want to wait
in a long line this evening.  So, we are glad that we
got it done.  I hope you all get out there and exercise
your right to vote!  God Bless the USA!

I just wanted to share with you a card I made for one
of my friends.  I'm entering this card over at
The Paper Players Challenge.  I've never cased a card
from a card magazine before, but I just couldn't pass
this one up.  I cased the above card from Clare Buswell.
I saw her card in Card Maker magazine in the September
issue on page 34.  I made just a few changes with the
paper and placed an owl in the tree instead of a bird.
The owl was given to me by friend.  She gave me some
birthday goodies.  It's so fun to have a crafting friend
who knows what I like!  Isn't that owl cute sitting
in the tree?!  Ok, I have one more card to post yet, so
thank you so much for dropping by today!  I'm very
thankful for all my blogging friends!  Take care, hugs!!

Hi Friends!

I am just so excited and honored to be the guest de-
signer this month over at The Shabby Tea Room!  It
is definitely my favorite place to visit!  Such shabby
goodness to be found there with awesome inspiration
each week!

For the challenge this week we were to follow the
colors of the inspiration photo as seen below, include
a pumpkin, and make it shabby...how fun!

I knew I wanted to use a fall scene and got to work

Happy Fall!

Hi there!

Happy fall to you!  We are enjoying some super
lovely fall weather here in NW Ohio!  It is definitely
Indian summer.  It was in the 70's here today with
bright shiny sunshine...love it!  We won't have many
more of these perfect days.  So, we enjoyed a walk
in our favorite walking area.  It is the place where
Rutherford B. Hayes resided many years go.  He
was the 19th president.  It is a quiet peaceful area
to walk and enjoy nature.  Little squirrels run about
in search of nuts.  They are busy gathering many
acorns that have dropped from the trees. You will
see in a photo below where a friendly squirrel took
time out to be playful and pose for us...too cute!
Anyways, I hope you are enjoying your week
wherever you are!  Thanks for dropping by today!

Happy trails to you!  Take care, hugs!
