Christmas...

Hi, there!

Just popping in quick to share with you what I have been working on lately.  I've been doing a lot of coloring in the evening while watching TV.  The poinsettia images are from Sweet 'n Sassy and the nutcracker images are from Newton's Nook.  I about went cross eyed coloring those nutcrackers.  But, love the images and the fun sentiments!

Not much new going on around here.  We are getting a lot of rain.  I hope it's not too much for the farmers for we have had a wonderful growing season this year.  They haven't gotten to the soybean fields in front and behind us yet.  I have seen a lot of corn taken down already.  And, the leaves haven't turned yet.  We are near Lake Erie and it will even be later, which will be possibly next week.  We are planning a trip to Berlin, Ohio to visit the Amish area on Wednesday.  I'm looking forward to some shopping and delicious food!

Nicky, our cat and Sheila, our dog seem to be getting along.  It is a lot of fun watching them play together!

What are you working on?  I need to work on some Thanksgiving cards yet and more birthday cards.  Thanks so much for dropping by today.  It's appreciated, take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Happy Bee-day!

Hello, there!

Popping in to share with you a card made for my hair stylist.  She just had a birthday and we went for our hair appointments on Monday.  I gave her a small flower bouquet and the above card.  She and her husband have lots of bee hives.  They are sending some to California to help pollinate the pecan trees.  The honey that they have is the best.  I just made a chicken pineapple dish with a honey/dijon mustard sauce, so delicious!  It is one of my hubby's favorites!  If you would like the recipe, just let me know.  So, as you can see above I had to add some bees, which are stickers to the card.  The pumpkin/flower image is from Altenew.  The sentiments are from Studio Katia.

Also, I recently took a photo of my dog, Sheila and our newest fur baby, Nicky.  It seemed like forever to choose a name for the little guy.  We thought of Boots, Socks, or Domino.  Hubby thought Dominic.  We decided to shorten it to Nicky.  Finally on the day we took it to the vet we said his name is Nicky.  And, little Nicky had a good check up. No problems at all, good news!  Anyways, here is a photo of them in my craft room.  Sheila is not sure if she wants to share her bed with him, lol.  I do have a cat bed for Nicky, but she wants to be friends with Sheila.  I think they'll get along just fine.

Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Take care and have an awesome day!

Hugs!

This kit is full of goodies to make fall and Christmas projects!  I LOVE Doodlebug...look at all those Doodlebug items!!!  Paper Sweeties seam binding ribbon and a pumpkin template, too!

Sweet Kits Club Subscription - SAVE $5 on each quarterly kit!

I have a sweet gingerbread house and tags to share with you today!

For my gingerbread house, which is actually a candy house, I started with paper from Lawn Fawn and used the Sweet Cuts-Treat Box die from Paper Sweeties.  Sweet Cuts-Treat Box Add-on: Home&Garden die was used for the roof and door.  Gingerbread House stamps were used for the candy canes and peppermints.  Frosting and Green Apple ribbon and twine place to close the treat box.  The lights and star are from the Shape Sprinkles and Christmas Wishes that are included in the kit.

Next up, is a shaker tag with a super cute gingerbread man!  The tag was made using Sweet Cuts-Rectangle Scallop Frames.  The fun shaker mix is included in the kit.  The hello sentiment is from the new stamp set Sweet Mini:  Seasons Add-on.

And, for the inside of the tag...

The inside sentiments are from the new sets Sweet Mini:  Seasons and Sweet Mini:  Seasons Add-on.  The peppermints are from the set Gingerbread House.

More Christmas tags...

These tags were so easy to make using the wonderful Doodle-pops!  For these tags, I die cut the Sweet Cuts-For You and used a stencil from Pinkfresh Studio for the background.  On the first tag, the rectangle die cut behind the gift was made using Sweet Cuts-Scallop Square Frames.  The sentiment was embossed using the set Snow Time Add-on: Sweet Treats.  For the second tag sentiments, I used Sweet Mini:  Seasons Add-on.  Green Apple ribbon and gold thread to finish the tags.

Dies R Us Challenge October 15, 2021 (Anything Goes!)

Hello, Friends!  It's the 15th and time for another Dies R Us Challenge!  The theme is Anything Goes!  We ask that you use at least one die on your project for the challenge that Dies R Us sells!  Please come and join the fun and have a chance to win!

I've made a few Halloween cards and posted them earlier with Halloween just around the corner, but today I have a fall card to share with you!  I've been patiently waiting for the dies to go along with this Lawn Fawn set.  And, it came in while away on vacation.  It was like Christmas coming back home and opening a few stamp sets and dies that I ordered.  Now to find the time to create!  I know that I'm retired, but with hubby being retired too, I feel I'm not able to create all afternoon like I used to.  Hubby gets antsy and wants to be out and about, which I can't blame him at all.  Also, our sweet dog, Sheila, went through another unfortunate surgery with cancer again on a mammary gland. So, she needed extra extra attention and care.  They think they got it all again and it was a different type of cancer.  I just hope and pray she's done with the cancer.

Anyways,  you are here to see my card...

I just love the darling scarecrow from Lawn Fawn.  I think he made friends with the crows, because they don't appear to be scared at all!  For the background I water colored the corn field and sky.  All images were colored with copics.  I did my best to create a flannel shirt with copics.  The buttons on his overalls were made with gold Nuvo drops.  I placed die cut corn stalks over the background to create depth.  The sentiments and die cut stitched labels are from Lawn Fawn, also.  Dots and twine to finish my fall card.
Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

My teammates have some fabulous inspiration for you today.  Sit back, relax, and take a look.... (you can click on their name to go to their personal blogs and get more detailed information about each project)

Happy Halloween!

Hi, Friends!

Long time no see here on my blog for posting anything.  It's been busy around here.  I volunteered to make 70 kits for mission Sunday for next week.  Christmas cards will be sent to nursing home residents.   I put my time to great use when I went to the craft crop this past weekend by doing a lot of stamping and trimming out images and sentiments for the cards.  I'm nearly done, yeah!  I'll show you a sneak peek of them later.  We had the apple festival here this weekend, too...perfect weather!

I'm here today to show you Halloween cards made for my sisters.   I had my dog Sheila in mind and found a darling chihuahua image from LaLa Land.  I also used Lawn Fawn images and a cloud stencil from Simon Says to create my cards.  The first card did not photograph very well because I added Wink of Stella to the images and dies, but it shows Sheila, my little princess, lol!  I'm entering a card over at Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge.

For the above card, Sheila is in her mummy costume.  She certainly was ready a few weeks ago when she had her bandages on after having had surgery.  But, she is back to "normal"!  And, she is excited about a new fur addition to the family!

After my last post with my Halloween card with a black cat, I mentioned that we had a black cat at one time.  I said I miss Blackie.  I guess you have to be careful what you say.  My husband said he found a black cat in our yard recently.  We believe someone dropped it off.  We get strays at times and that is how we got our first cat, Misty.  She was black and white like this cat.  We think this cat is a male and have an appointment this week to take it to the vet.  I asked on FB if it is anyone's cat.  We were 50/50 about keeping it.  I don't know how old it is, but it is a tiny thing and so very cute and friendly.  We still don't have a name for it yet...maybe Boots...but still thinking on it.

Here is the little cutie...

Ok, like I've said before it seems feast or famine for my blog lately.  I have a few more posts towards the end of the week with DT assignments.  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by!  Have a wonderful week!  Hugs!!

Dies R Us Challenge October 1, 2021(Anything Goes!)

Hi, there!

Happy October 1st-

It's breast cancer awareness month!  Just a reminder to get those mammograms!  I not only have to get mine checked I check my dog, too!  And, prayers for all those experiencing breast cancer!  I have a good friend who is a 7-year breast cancer survivor.  Get the message out and get those mammograms!

And, it's nearly time for Halloween.  And, we have another Dies R Us Challenge!  My card today is not too spooky.  The black cat on my card reminds me of the cat we had several years ago.  His name was Blackie.   What a wonderful hunter and black beautiful cat he was!  He is dearly missed!

Please come and join the fun and have a chance to win a gift Certificate...enjoy creating!

For today's card, I started with a purple card base and paired it with a black panel.  I found a scrap of star background paper and added it for the next panel.  The checkered frame was cut down to place the cat on top of it.  The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties, which was gold embossed.  A gold eye was applied for the cat using gold Nuvo drops.  The bats are from IO, also.  Polka dot ribbon to finish the card.   It's not easy to see, but Happy Halloween is spelled out on the cat.

All dies that were used for my card with links are listed below.  I hope you create a project using dies and join us for the challenge!

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!
