Thank You!

Hi, Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  We sure did!  Just a quiet small family gathering here with turkey and all the fixings.  I love all the leftovers.  And, today I'm making turkey cream vegetable soup...yum!

I'd like to share with you a card I made to thank Darlene, our team coordinator, from Dies R Us!  She sent all the designers this gorgeous die from Tutti Designs...so pretty!  So, I made this card and sent this to her.

For my card I started with a white card base and water colored the panel background with Tim Holtz distress inks.  The snowflakes were stamped, which are from Cat's Meow(no longer in business).  Sequins from Paper Sweeties and the die frame is from MFT.  The poinsettia flower is from Hero arts.

A couple of Christmas photos of 2016...

And, one of our sweet dog, Shadow...

Ok, well that's all for now.  Our New Year's Eve will be a quiet one here at home watching the OSU v. Clemson game!  Go Bucks!  Whatever you have planned please have fun and stay safe!  Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Merry Christmas! Paper Sweeties Favorite for 2016!

Hi, Friends!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Favorite for 2016!  Today, the team is sharing their favorite project from this past year!

Since it's Christmas and I'm certainly in the Christmas mood, I'm sharing my gingerbread house project I made last month!

I am highlighting the new Stand Add-on: Sweet Treats, which are the large candy canes, gum drops, peppermints, snow on windows, heart and siding on the house.  They were die cut using the coordinating die Sweet Cuts-Stand Add-on: Sweet Treats.  The gingers, small candy canes, and the sentiment is from a previously released set Ho-Ho-Ho.  The small holly is from the set Deck the Halls.  The wreath is from the set Home Sweet Home and the bow on the wreath is from Thanks Berry Much.  The window was made using Sweet Cuts-Window Add-on: Elements.  The banner was die cut using the Sweet Cuts-Be Happy.

I started with a paper mache house and painted it with white acrylic paint.  An old stamp pad was cut for the base and covered with texure paste and Martha Stewart glitter for the snow.  I wanted to be able to have the candies easily stand since they have a toothpick center.  So, the stamp pad provided a soft base.  The house was covered with kraft paper.  Many pieces were die cut for the siding and I made six small windows.  The front window was made into a shaker window with the background water colored.  The sequins are (Snowflake) and (Mistletoe).  The door was made using die cuts from the Sweet Cuts-Window Add-on: Elements.   And, here are couple more views of the gingerbread house...

I had so much fun creating this gingerbread house!  You can take the lid off and place treats inside, which would make a wonderful gift!  I wish you could see it in real life.  The photos just don't capture all the glitter and beautiful color!

Please hop along to see what my teammates have created!

Celebrate!

Hi, Friends!

I'm just popping in quick to share with you some cards I made for birthdays this month.  The above card uses Sugar Pea dies and paper.  I gave this card to my good friend, Dorothy.

Next up is a bday card for my sis...

We got together last weekend to celebrate her bday and Christmas.  I used Paper Sweeties(bow) and SSS stamp/die to make this fun shaker card.  We had a great time celebrating.  Unfortunately, we were missing one sis who had a very busy schedule.  But, hopefully next time we will be all together again.  Here is a photo of us...

Cecilia, Lucretia, Donna, and me

And, for my last card to my friend, Kathy...

Kathy loves cats!  So, I came up with another shaker card.  At one time I thought shaker cards were too difficult to make.  But, now I love making them!  The cats are from SSS.  Sequins are from Paper Sweeties.

Ok, I need to get back to things around here.  I did lots of baking yesterday and made a couple of deliveries of the goodies this morning.  Now it's clean up time!:-)  Oh, before I go....one more photo...

Our dog, Shadow, who loves the snow!
More snow on the way for tonight.  Shadow
is happy, but I'm not...lol!

Ok, that's all for now.  Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Maria

Also, I used Paper Sweeties Merry and Bright paper pack...

The other planner series sets that I used for my planner are Planner Series-Get Your Craft OnPlanner Series: Fall Sentiments, and Planner Series: Celebrate.

A closer peek at the pages...

Today I am sharing with you my projects.  I started with white card stock and paired up my cards with white card stock and paired it them with Echo Park paper.  I used the holly stamp from the set Holly Days and coordinating die Sweet Cuts-Holly Days.  I die cut the sentiment three times for dimension using Sweet Cuts-Joy.  Here are my first two cards using the same dies and stamps, but different patterned papers...

For the last card, it is basically the same except for the scalloped border and pretty seam binding ribbon from Paper Sweeties(Green Apple).

Here is a peek at the inside of the card...

I just love the sweet pretty font with hearts on this sentiment.  It is from the stamp set Stand Add-on: Manger!

And, one more project using Merry &Bright patterned paper from Paper Sweeties!

Merry and Bright paper made into a 3 D Christmas tree!  I was shopping at Pat Catan's and saw this idea and just had to make one! Their version of the paper tree was on a burlap canvas, but I wanted to use texture paste and make glittery snow for the background.  I love all the aqua and red against the white!  I die cut snowflakes from the set Sweet Cuts-Merry Little Christmas.  And, I used pom pom stickers to embellish instead of dots.  Here are the instructions...

Instructions:

1.  Cut 2" wide strips of paper, making a total of 14 strips.
2.  Arrange papers and then trim lengths from 3/4" -51/2".
3.  Wrap each strip around a pencil, then glue the paper along the edge and press it firmly to hold the shape.  Slide the paper off of the pencil and arrange it on the canvas.
4.  Hot glue the rolled paper to the canvas to form the tree.
5.  Punch out a square and glue it slightly under the bottom roll of the trunk.
6.  Punch out a small circle, center it and glue it slightly under the
top roll. ( I die cut snow flakes from Paper Sweeties-Sweet Cuts-Merry Little Chrismas).
7.  Punch out a large and circle.  Stack them with a foam dot in between and glue them onto the bottom right section of the tree.  (I cut a present from the patterend paper and glued it to the scalloped circle).
8.  Embellish the circles with a white dot.  (I used red pom pom stickers.)
9.  Wrap the right side of the canvas 3 or 4 times around with bakers twine and tie it in place.

I hope you are inspired to make one!  It is a great way to use up those paper strips of wonderful patterned paper from Paper Sweeties!  Take care and enjoy the hop!

Hugs,
Maria

For my second project, I'd like to share with you four sweet angels I made for for my sisters for Christmas...

I purchased the burlap votive candle holders at the craft store and turned them upside down.  The angels were adhered with hot glue and snow made with texture paste and glitter to surround them.  I embossed a small tag with silver embossing powder and distressed it for a vintage look.  The tag was tied with PTI twine and attached to Robin Egg seam binding ribbon from Paper Sweeties.  Polka dot paper and glittered stars were added to finish the project.

And, here are two more angels for my other two sisters...
