Christmas in July!

Hi, Friends!

It has been a busy week with posting projects, but I couldn't let this challenge go by without entering it before I leave on vacation.  Lori  is hosting a Visions of Sugarplums Challenge in July....how fun!!!  And, so I decided to join the challenge on her blog here...Lori Hairston (Chouxchoux Paper Art).

I already had the background panel done yesterday while I was playing with Glitz glitter gel from Gina K.  It's a very messy process, but well worth the results.

I first started with the panel  onto water color paper by using a Gina K stencil.  I applied the gold glitter gel and let it dry overnight.  I added drops of the gel here and there for interest.   It was my first attempt with the glitter gel and more practice is needed, but I love it!  It gives great dimension  and a lovely shine!  The angels and banner are from Pretty Pink Posh.  They were water colored using zig markers.  Wink of Stella was added to the angels and banner.  Gold elastic string was added for the final touch.

My first Christmas card done...yeah!  And, many more to go, lol!  Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Take care!

Hugs!

Paper Sweeties July 16, 2019-Release Rewind!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Release Rewind!  Today is the day that we highlight the newly released stamp sets along with previously released stamp sets for our projects.  The new stamp sets this month are Ahoy Matey and Beach Therapy  And, coordinating die set Sweet Cuts-Beach Therapy.  Today, I am sharing two cards highlighting both sets along with a few previously released sets.  Jake is having a great day in his pirate outfit and Madison is in her mermaid outfit!  The two of them have a treasured friendship!

For my card, I started with a brown card base and paired it with black.  The sky was made using distress ink broken china.  The ship and waves(embossed in white) are from the new set Beach Therapy.  The pirate outfit and sentiment are from the new set Ahoy Matey.  Madison's mermaid outfit and starfish are from the set that was released last month Mermaid Wishes.  The sun is from the set Island Time.  The die cut waves were made using the set Sweet Cuts-Let's go to the Beach.  Nuvo Drops(gold) were applied to the starfish, sword, and treasure chest.  Nuvo Drops(morning dew) was applied to the waves, sun, and mermaid outfit.  Black twine to finish the card.

How fun is that pirate starfish, so cute?!!

Next up, is my card with an underwater scene...

For my card, I started with a white card base and paired it with blue and lime green paper.  The background for the water was made using the "smoosh" technique on glossy paper with distress oxide inks of salty ocean, broken china, cracked pistachio, and twisted citron.  The jelly fish are from the new set Beach Therapy.  The colors used for the jellyfish and mermaid tail are wilted violet, picked raspberry, and seedless perserves.  The sand  and starfish were made using vintage photo distress oxide ink.  Nuvo Drops(gold) were applied to the treasure chest and centers of the starfish.  The mermaid tail and starfish are from Mermaid Wishes, which was released last month.

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Release Party!  Today is the day to purchase the two new stamp/die sets, Ahoy Matey and Beach Therapy!

Today, I am highlighting Beach Therapy.  I just love the lighthouse image!  I created a set of note cards for my sis for her birthday.

For my card, I started with a white card base and used broken china distress ink for the sky.  The lighthouse was water colored with zig markers.  Nuvo Drops(Morning Dew) was applied to the windows, starfish, and sand.  The star fish is from the set Mermaid Wishes, which was released last month.  The scalloped frame is from the set Sweet Cuts Oval Scallop Frames.

A view of the inside of the card...

The sun is from the set Island Time and the sentiment is from the set Let's go to the Beach.  The waves are from the new set Beach Therapy.

I water colored a second version of the same lighthouse image.  The sky was made using Spiced Marmarlade, Spun Sugar, and Seedless Preserves distress inks.

Hi, friends!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties July Release Sneak Peeks!

Debbie is releasing two new stamp/die sets this month called Ahoy Matey and Beach Therapy!  Today, I am highlighting both sets.  Who is ready for some summer fun?!  I know I am!  These sets coordinate very well with the previously released sets that were released last month...Mermaid Wishes and Sea you soon!

For my card, I started with a white card base and paired it with Doodlebug paper.  The anchor, ship, and waves are from the new set Beach Therapy.  The sentiment is from the new set Ahoy Matey.  The anchor was die cut using Sweet Cuts-Beach Therapy and embossed.  A brad and twine for interest.  I haven't used brads in such a long time.  I couldn't even remember if I still had white brads, lol!

A view of the inside of the card...

I love the little smiling fish with bubbles for the inside of the card, which are from the set Ahoy Matey.  The sentiment is from the set Mermaid Wishes.

Happy Birthday!

Hi, there!

Happy 4th to you!  You plan on watching any fireworks?  We plan to watch them tonight.  Whatever you have planned stay safe and have fun!!

Just look at those yummy cupcakes...yummm!  It's near dinner here and I would just love to grab one of those from the inspiration photo.  They are so pretty, too!

I wanted to try out a stencil that I recently purchased from Gina K Designs, which made for a lovely background on this card...

I'm entering this card over at Cupcake Inspirations.  I made this card for my friend, Barb, who has a birthday in a couple weeks.

For my card, I started with white card stock and used the Gina K stencil with distress inks of mustard seed, twisted citron, and cracked pistachio.  The flower image and sentiment is from Clearly Besotted. The image was water colored using zig markers. The frame is from MFT.  I know it's difficult to see, but for the finishing touch I applied Wink of Stella to the flower image and sentiment.  Dots to finish the card.
