Hummingbirds and flowers...

Hi, Friends!

It's been awhile since I've been here.  We are still busy with home remodeling.  I did get away and went to a craft retreat last weekend with some friends.  It's always a great time to create and enjoy!  I have a few of my favorite cards to share today.  I got a lot done and made several simple ones with no sentiments.  I'm trying to get smarter that way to have some on hand for any occasion.  I mostly made birthday and thinking of you cards.

As you can see above,  I made a hummingbird card for my sis.  Her birthday isn't until July, but I recently received the new set from Spellbinder's and wanted to color the pretty hummingbirds and flowers.  Inside is a sentiment that says...Happy Birthday to beautiful you.

Next up...

I made my second card using Sweet 'n Sassy stamps and arch die.  A very simple card, but I wanted to use up the background paper that I had.  I thought it would go well with the vase.

And, for my last card...

At the craft retreat, they have a craft store.  How convenient, right?!  So, I saw the lovely hummingbird paper and the Spellbinder stamp/die set went perfectly with it.  The paper is from Mintay(Joy of Life).  I fell in love with their papers!

Well, I'm not sure when I'll be back again for it may be awhile, but I'll continue to view and comment on your blogs.  We have two more rooms to have carpeting done this week.  On Friday, my craft room will get new carpet.  It's going to be a big job to clear out all my craft items.  I'm hoping for a better organized craft room with some new Ikea furniture.  I'm looking forward to when it's all done!

Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  Take care and have a great week!

Hugs!

Happy Birthday, Layout Page...

Hi, there!

I've been wanting to post this birthday card that I made for my husband and am now getting the chance to do it.  His birthday was on the 12th.  We visited our son and had a nice dinner out at a favorite restaurant.  I made him an Ohio State card for he loves watching Ohio State football.  The hexagon die is from Jillian Vance Designs.

Next up, I promised a scrapbook page.  I have tons of Yellowstone photos from when we made the trip a couple years ago.  We saw a lot of buffalo and one was making his way closer and closer to the building and parking lot.  We got a quick pic and several people got even closer than us before the park ranger yelled to back away.

I'm not sure what the white area is in front of my hubby's shorts.  Reflection of light maybe, I don't know.  Some more on the last photo, too.  It shouldn't be there, oh well.

A very windy day here.  We had rain this morning.  At least no rain on Easter.  We plan to go to a favorite family restaurant for lunch after church service.  The food is always so delicious!  I'm wishing you all a wonderful blessed Easter!  Thanks so much for dropping by, take care!

Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends!

Just popping in quick to share with you a card I made for a friend.  The flower image is from SSS and the sentiments are from Honey Bee.  Gold gems to finish the card.

We're just keeping busy around here with more painting.  I painted the trim in the bathroom for the past several days.  It took me longer since I didn't like the first color that I painted.  Paint is expensive these days just like everything else and I didn't want to buy new paint, but I knew I wouldn't be happy if I didn't.  Safe to say I'm very happy with the second choice.  Sweet hubby will finish painting with a roller tomorrow.

Other than cardmaking lately I started to scrapbook our Yellowstone trip that we took a couple years ago.  I don't scrapbook every vacation, but thought it would be great to do that trip.  You just might see some photos of some of those pages here on my blog.

That's about all for now.  I hope you all are doing well!  Take care and have a great rest of the week!

Hugs!!

Happy Easter!

Hi, there!

Popping in to share with you a few Easter cards that I made recently.  The above card was made using the window die from Sweet 'n Sassy.  I used my neglected alcohol inks to make a stained glass window.  The pretty daffodils are from Waffle Flower and I did the cross free hand.  Gems to finish the card.

Next up...

A cute bunny image from Scrapbook.com.  The basket was given to me by my friend, Nancy.  I think it may be from Lawn Fawn.  The oval stitched die cut is from Newton's Nook.  The lovely paper is from Close to My Heart, which sadly is going out of business soon.

And, my last card...

I used distress inks to make the sky.  The sentiments are from Honey Bee.  And, the butterflies are from Close to My Heart.

I wanted to post one more card, but I'm having trouble with my computer.  I need to have my son come to my rescue.  Isn't baffling at times when the computer doesn't work how you want it to?!  Oh, well, I'm sure my son will get it to working right.

It's a lovely sunny day here.  I saw a female cardinal this morning and yesterday saw the male cardinal.  It makes my heart happy to see them for it reminds me of my Mom who loved cardinals.

Well, that's all for now.  I hope all is well your way.  Thanks so much for dropping by today!

St. Patrick's Day and Painting...

Hello, Friends!

It's been awhile since I've posted anything on my blog.  We have been busy around here with doing some home remodeling.  We painted the fireplace a light cream color.  I want to paint the walls, but my son and husband don't think it's a good idea.  They want to tear down the paneling and put up dry wall.  In the mean time until things actually do happen I'd like to paint, but we'll see what happens.  New carpet comes some time soon.  It has been ordered for the bedrooms.  Our dryer isn't working quite right and the washer is old, too, so a new washer and dryer are coming tomorrow.  We had to rearrange things in the laundry room for it is a storage room, also.

For my St. Pat's day card that I made for my friend, Nancy, I used Sunny Studio and Lawn Fawn dies.  The images were colored with copics.

Last week I was very busy at a craft retreat with some friends.  I made a lot of Easter cards.  Last Friday I went to an acrylic painting class and Saturday I went to another crop.  My hubby was beginning to think when will I be staying home, lol!  Anyways, I had tons of fun at the crops and at the painting class.

Here is my painting...

I'm not sure I got the windows quite right and I could have done better with the shading on the pots, but overall I think I didn't do too bad for my first painting class.  I already have ideas to paint a few things for Christmas.

Ok, that's all for now.  I'll post some Easter cards later.  And, I'll be making my way over to your blogs to see what you've been creating.  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  Take care!

Hugs!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hi, friends!

How are you on this fine Monday afternoon?  I was just outside with our dog and felt the warm sun and saw the beginning signs of spring!  I saw my first robin today, too!  We really didn't have a rough winter at all, especially with the snow.  We just had a some crazy weather last month with fog, ice, and very cold temps.  Anyways, I am feeling happy that spring is right around the corner!

Today, I'd like to share with you a couple St. Patrick's Day cards that I made for my hubby and son.  The above card is for hubby and I had a lot of fun using Waffle Flower stamps and dies.  Isn't that little smiling leprechaun the cutest?!  I combined the stamp set that was released last month along with the new one for this month to go with the postage die, so fun!  I gold embossed the images and colored with copics.  My hubby is part Irish and loves green, so I'm thinking he'll like this card!

Next up, a card for my son using some of the same Waffle Flower products.

I did change it up and used the shamrock background die.  I love how the shamrocks cut out with dimension.  I showed hubby the card and he thought something was wrong with it.  Maybe it's a good thing I didn't use it for his card, lol!  I colored more rainbows on this card and added the same cute leprechaun.

Ok, that's all for now.  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  Take care and have a wonderful week!

Hugs!

Thinking of you...

Hi, there!

Another flower card to share with you today, but one with tulips!  My mind is thinking spring, how about you?  I can hardly wait until my tulips and daffodils bloom.  The tulips image is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  It was gold embossed and colored with copics.  The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties.  A bow and sequins added to finish the card.

Did you happen to watch the super bowl game yesterday?  What a game!  It certainly was a nail biter!  I was rooting for the underdog, the Chiefs.  Hubby was rooting for the 49ers since they had a couple players who played for Ohio State.

We haven't cleared the craft room out yet.  I think we will leave this room for last.  They will carpet the other two bedrooms first.  We still have to decide on what carpet we want.  The lady comes to measure the rooms on Thursday,  so we need to decide soon.  I changed my mind on the one I wanted for I felt it was too light.

Well, I'll close here for now.  I finished a St. Pat's Day card, but will post that later.  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  Take care!

Hugs!

Happy Birthday!

Hi, there!

I hope you are having a great weekend!  I'm popping in quick to share with you a birthday card I made for a friend.  The rose die cut is from Elizabeth Craft Designs and the sentiment is from SSS.

Not much else is going on around here.  I was busy this week and last week with our son and his dog being here.  I felt bad that he drove 2 1/2 hours for a competition that was cancelled at Bowling Green University both weeks.  A former teacher asked him to help judge.  It will be rescheduled, but not until March.  It was cancelled due to fog.  But, it was great to see him and we had a nice dinner out one night!  We had all kinds of weather last month, but we are to get warmer temps and some sunshine soon, yeah!

We looked for carpet the other day and hope to make a decision soon.  We have a sample that will be mailed to us.  I really don't like the thought of packing everything up in the craft room, but it will be great once it's all done!

Ok, that's all for now.  Thanks so much for dropping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs!

Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends!

Just popping in quick with a birthday card that I made for our minister at church.  We sang happy birthday to her in church today and they rolled a cake down the aisle with lots of candles!  They carried a fire extinguisher down the aisle, too, lol!  She is such a wonderful pastor and certainly deserves to be celebrated!

For my card, I started with a white card base and paired it with an aqua panel.  The cake image is from Sunny Studio and the sentiment is from Honey Bee.  The embossing folder is from SU.  The image was colored with copics.  Gems and a bow to finish the card.

Well, that's all for now.  I may watch a little football with hubby today, but I do want to clean our bathroom closet today.  So, I'll probably go back and forth.  It's a good day to stay inside for we have a rain/snow mix today.  I hope tomorrow is better for we have hair appointments to go to.

Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  Take care and have a wonderful day!

Sending Valentine Hugs!

Hi, Friends!

It's a gloomy day here in NW Ohio, but am happy that we didn't get freezing rain!  Such wintery weather we have been having this month with the snow, wind, and very cold temps.  I say spring can't come soon enough for me.  My sis is heading to Florida February 1st and a friend is going to Disney World this week.  I wish I could hitch a ride with them!  Anyways, I stayed in today and finished the above card for a friend.  She loves gnomes, so I hope she likes it!

I started with a white card base and added Photo Play paper.  The quilt design panel is from MFT.  The sticker gnomes is from Photo Play, also.  The sentiment is from Simon Says.  Twine and heart gem stickers to finish the card.

Ok that's all for today.  I hope you all are doing well!  Take care and thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!

Hugs!

Valentines...

Hi, Friends!

How are you on this cold wintery day?  It has been wayyyy too cold for this gal.  Even our dog who usually lingers outside for awhile to check everything out hurries back inside to our warm home.  The temp here in NW Ohio is 13 degrees.  It was much colder the past couple days.  I've been staying inside and making more Valentine cards.  I've also done some cleaning and purging.

I usually ask hubby what he wants for meals for the week and he made a great suggestion of making beef stew, so that's what I made last night and I can't wait to have more of it tonight.  Hot soup always does the trick to warm you up when it's freezing outside.

Anyways, I'd like to share with you a couple of Valentine cards that I made for my hubby and son.  The above card was made using Simon Says stamps/dies.  The mirror card stock is from Simon Says, also.  The set has so many wonderful sentiments!

Next up...

Lawn Fawn goodies were used for this Valentine card for my son.  A Tim Holtz stencil was used for the background.  The porcupine is just too cute holding the Valentine card.  I made the large heart using a punch.

Ok, that's all for now.  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by!  Stay warm and have a great rest of the week!

Hugs!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi, Friends!

Happy Monday to you!  I hope you have a great start of the week so far!  I got some happy mail today and made a Valentine card as you can see above.  I had plans to clean up, purge, and organize my craft room, but decided to make a card instead.  I'm sure I can start cleaning tomorrow.  But, today I had lots of fun using some new stencils, stamps, and die from Waffle Flower.

All the items on the card are from Waffle Flower except for the bow, which is a die from Spellbinder's.  Also, I punched out a couple hearts matching the shiny red card base.  The bow matches the same paper, too.

Ok, that's all for now.  I made a card for my son and hubby a few days ago and I'll share those soon.
Take care and thanks so much for dropping by today!

Hugs!

Baby Leia...

Hi, Friends!

Sweet baby Leia was born 12-10-23.  What a darling family photo of all of them.  Chase is my hubby's nephew.  The Mom is Schante.  I'm not sure when I'll see the baby maybe some time this year.  They live out west.  Anyways, a new baby in the family...so precious!

I already sent a gift card to them and wanted to get a baby afghan made before the baby shower in October, but my hand and arm wasn't cooperating.  It is much better now and I finished it yesterday evening.    And, here is the afghan...

For the afghan, I used the suzette stitch with a single crochet and a double crochet in the same stitch.  I usually make a baby afghan with the shell stitch, so I thought I'd try a new stitch.  I added a pink satin bow to finish it off.

Also, I made a quick card with the baby's name on it...

I'm entering this card over at  Time Out Challenges.

Ok, that's all for me today.  I hope you are all doing well!  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  Take care!

Hugs!
