Hi, Friends!
We are bracing ourselves here for I am hoping the last winter storm of the season. I didn't think we'd have one this late, but we are due for about 3-4 inches of snow starting tonight. Maybe the weatherman is wrong...ha...I can only hope so! My head is saying otherwise with this headache. I checked my blood pressure, so I know it's not that. But, oh well, I'm happy finishing up some design team assignments today and there is no need to venture out today or even tomorrow.
My poor hubby had some bad luck going out trying to buy a new truck. His 2004 truck has served him well, but it's time for a new one. He wanted to buy a 2021 truck, but a few months ago they stopped making them due to something about shortage of microchips? Ha...just another glitch for us with the crazy pandemic. The salesman told him to check back in a couple of months. A man and his truck is important as a man and his dog...lol! Anyways, I'm off my soapbox now. I hope things are well in your world!
Now for my card, I'd like to share with you the above shaker birthday card I made for my great nephew! I used alcohol inks for the background. I gold embossed the images using the stamp sets Wishing You and Eat Cake from Paper Sweeties. The sentiment is from the set Basket Add-on: Thinking of you/, which is from Paper Sweeties, also. The frame is from MFT. Gold thread and gold spray to finish the card.
Edit: After seeing the evening news and about the approaching winter weather, I decided to cut the remaining tulips that were in bloom and covered my rose bushes. The tulips really opened up after I put them in a vase filled with water, so pretty!

Thanks so much for dropping by today! Take care, hugs!
What a wonderful shaker card, so vibrant and creative and I bet he loved it? The alcohol ink background and the embossed gold look fabulous x.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you with the impending storm and hope your headache passes soon Maria x.
Love the colour mix and the gold, WITH a shaker, just fabulous. Hope your Winter weather isn't too harsh, we have had heavy frosts.
ReplyDeleteKeep safe

Love that alcohol ink background and the gold. Gold always makes things so elegant. We got several inches of heavy snow last night too. The tree limbs are sagging but the streets are clear.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful AI background stepped up with the gold. Great card for your grand-nephew.
ReplyDeleteHope the snow storm wasn’t too bad. Your tulips are so pretty.
Your card is just gorgeous with that fabulously created background! We had temps in PA of 71 yesterday and thunderstorms earlier today, but no snow thank goodness! Your tulips are gorgeous! Good luck with your hubby's truck! My hubby sold his 2000 model 3 years ago with nearly 250.000 miles on it, so I know what you mean about men and their trucks :) Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteHard to believe you're getting snow, but hopefully it doesn't last long! We've had too much sun, as far as I'm concerned, but some rain is in our forecast. Your tulips are beautiful! The deer are already after my roses, so may not get many blooms this year!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely shaker! And those tulips are gorgeous! I'm wondering if you did get snow? Poor you... hopefully that will be the last storm for you and you can enjoy the week.
