Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends!

I'd like to share with you a card that I made for my niece's birthday!  I didn't put a birthday sentiment on the front for I didn't want to cover up the image.  I started with coloring the new lilac image from Hero Arts with copics.  I used Nuvo drops in yellow for the center of the flowers.  I haven't used Nuvo drops in ages!  The background panels were die cut using dies from Emily Moore.  A bow and gems to finish the card.  I'm entering this card over at NBUS Challenge  and Four Seasons Challenge.

It turned cold again today.  Yesterday it was in the 80's.  It's now only 58 degrees.  Hubby took me to a favorite place after my PT session today.  It was great to get out and enjoy delicious food!

My yellow iris flowers are in full bloom and look very pretty!  Hubby planted geraniums for me in our big pots around the house.  The dark red color looks beautiful!  It's great to see all the lovely color around the yard again!  We've been seeing a hummingbird come to the feeder and it's been so fun watching it!

EDIT:

Ok, that's all for now.  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  Have a great rest of the week, take care!

Hugs!

  2. I love lilacs, they smell amazing, but sadly their flowers are very short lived and they are over now in my part of the world. I am looking forward to next years show. Your card is great and you were quite right not to cover any of it up with a sentiment. I hope your PT sessions are helping xx

  3. A beautiful floral card Maria, your weather sounds like ours, warm, then cold, such a strange Spring! My Iris are blooming as well, seems so early for them, my poppies used to bloom father's Day weekend but are now in full bloom, it makes the nice weather seem to fly by!
Thank you for joining our challenge at The Four Seasons!

  4. I can just smell the unmistakable smell of your lilacs, Maria! It's my favorite scent and I miss it. Where I grew up in central Iowa, you would see them bursting with blooms in nearly every yard! And they were SO delicious cut and brought inside to put in jars and vases just like this gorgeous design! Thank you for the memories and for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

p.s. I hope you are back to normal now! It's been a few years for me and I'm still amazed at how I can do everything I used to do - like sitting cross-legged! Sadly, my left hip is starting to squawk, but I can't complain. It's held out longer than I thought it would! xo

  5. A really beautiful card, love the design the colours and flowers. I haven't used Nuvo drops in an age too, must try to remember to use them again, if they haven't dried up hahaha. Your weather sounds like ours, you think it's warming up for Summer, then the heating has to go on again. We have a week of hot temperatures to come, it'll be nice for a while. Good to hear you're out and about. x

  8. This year, the lilacs here bloomed for an exceptionally long time, as it wasn't as hot as in previous years. I truly enjoyed their scent. Your card turned out beautifully and serves as a lovely reminder of the lilac season.

  9. Beautiful coloring and I love those offset background panels. So delicate looking with those flowers. Your flowers are stunning and how fun you get to watch the hummingbird. I hope your PT is going well and I'm glad you got out to do lunch. That makes me happy for you. You have the same weather we have. Such flux from one day to the next.
