Winter Wishes

I couldn't resist this challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room!

So many gorgeous displays of inspiration from the design team.  I love every one of them!  I don't often use just white/cream/neutrals on a card, but I'm happy how this one turned out.  We were also to use silver and fun!  I started with a different focal point in mind, but went with these lovely snowflakes. The snowflakes were placed on circle chipboard and dimensionals.  Silver liquid pearls were added around the edge and in the center.  Burlap and doily behind the center snowflake and silver frame encasing it.   And, speaking of snowflakes, we got some of the white stuff yesterday.  Uh huh, winter has arrived!

Here is the beautiful inspiration photo!
Looking at those ice skates bring back fun memories for me!

As children, we used to go to the park and ice skate.  Mom would have warm hot chocolate waiting for us when we returned home.  Whenever my husband or son snowblows the driveway, I have warm hot chocolate waiting for them.  The snow may be cold and blustery at times...brrrr....but isn't it fun to come back inside to a delicious warm hot chocolate...yummm!  I hope your winter is off to a good start.  May it be a safe and happy one!  Take care and thanks so much for stopping by, hugs!

  1. I can't say I am looking forward to the white stuff...the weather has been really weird here in NY. Yesterday was about 70 and today 45. Can't help but think snow is just around the corner :(.
Such a beautiful and shabby card you made for the tea room! Those snowflakes are just perfect! Love the glttery frame and buttons!

  2. Hi Maria! How are you? THanks for dropping by my blog today. It's so nice to see you!

Burlap and a doily: a combo I would never have thought of, but love the contrast!

  3. Maria,
This is a super gorgeous card! I love the cream colors with the silver tones. I love the sparkle too!

  4. Gorgeous card Maria! I love your use of lace and buttons. I don't seem to use enough buttons. Those snowflakes are so pretty. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your sweet comments!!!

  5. This is so pretty, Maria. Usually a white card is very stark looking, but this one is so soft--like snow. And, those snowflakes are fabulous. I think my favorite things about this card, though, are the textiles. Love the burlap, doily, ribbon, and cotton lace. They give the card a sweet, homespun look. ~Hugs, Cheryl

  6. This is gorgeous Maria! Love the neutral tones, and the snowflakes. None here yet, but it has turned very cold!

  7. You always blow me away, Maria! I love your take on the photo...just beautiful! Makes winter seem magical! Hugs!

  8. Love, love, LOVE this Maria! The seam binding, doily and burlap...while all so different in texture...come together marvelously to make this card a true beauty! Fabulous take on the winter picnic inspiration photo!

  9. This is just so precious! Love those soft neautrels together! Thanks for sharing with us at The Shabby Tearoom

  10. Jaw-dropping gorgeous, Maria! I ADORE your take on the Tea Room challenge this week!
