Am back again for a challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.
Here is the sketch we were to follow....
First attempt...
Hi Friends!
Happy New Year to all! Are you getting used to writing 2012 instead of 2011? I forgot a couple of times while at work Tuesday and Wednesday. Hopefully by next week I won't write 2011!:-)
Anyways, this card gave me a little trouble. I just wasn't happy with my first attempt. So, what do you think? Do you like the final card better? I love the colors red and black and had fun making this card. The stamps are so lovely with a Parisian theme. And, one cannot go wrong with that theme for a valentine card! Well, I need to scoot and work on laundry. Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care and enjoy your weekend, hugs!!:-))

Wow... love that sketch and the colors... perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteOh la la! Super card, Maria, Love the red/black color combination, so striking! I think both cards are great. Thanks for joining us at Tuesday Morning Sketches.
ReplyDeleteI think this card looks perfect! I am so excited for Valentine's Day! I also kept writing 2011:)

Super creations both ways. I do love that patterned paper in the first one but the clean look in the second in super, too.
ReplyDeleteIt does take a bit to get used to writing 2012. Gosh, where has the time gone? I remember when it was about to turn to the year 2000 and I thought that would sound so strange. Now, it's 12 years later...scary how time flies.
Damask patterns and a touch of France; this is gorgeous. The rhinestones are the perfect finishing touch!
ReplyDeleteOops almost forgotten; wishing you and your family a healthy and happy 2012!

ReplyDeleteHi Maria! These are lovely. I love the patterned paper in the first one so that's my favorite, but they are both beautiful! Artistic Etchings is one of my all time favorite stamp sets and I love how you used it. Have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteOooh, la la! What a fabulous card, Maria! Such an elegant color combo and fun theme. I love all the bling bling. Love the thicker black ribbon on your second card, too. Really makes the whole look pop!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I just love a Parisian theme, and anything damask, so the top card wins my vote! So rich, classy and romantic!
ReplyDeleteLove the sketch you followed, Maria! I am 'in love' with the second attempt! I like the first one too, but the damask is so elegant and romantic!! Love the black bow and all the red bling!
ReplyDeleteHi Maria, I love both cards but your second attempt is my fav. I love the richness of the colors in that one. Happy 2012!!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Ellen
Something was going on with Google and I wasn't able to comment on this post before, but WOWZERS, it's fabulous! Your first attempt is pretty, but the final card really does shine with that red and black dp and pretty black bow. Love it!
