Under the sea...

Hi, there!

Just popping in quick to share with you a card I made a couple weeks ago for my friend's grandson.  Her son and daughter-in-law adopted a sweet little boy named Cohen.  The theme of the party was fish.  I should of snapped a pic of the little sweetie, but didn't think about it until after the fact.  I'm entering my card over at City Crafter Challenge.  And, here is my card...

For my card, I started with a light blue card base.  The sky was inked with distress ink for the sky.  The sun and fish stamps are from Paper Sweeties.  The boat is from Lawn Fawn.  The waves were made using a punch.  The letters to spell out Cohen are from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  Twine and dots to finish the card.

It's a perfect day here in the 70's.  So, I washed a few windows.  There's always work to be done, but I better not push it too much for my right neck and upper shoulder are bothering me once again.  I'm not really sure as to why, but did have this problem a couple years ago.  I think I just strained it again somehow.  Oh, well...housework can wait...slow but sure wins the race.

Anyways, I hope you all are having a great day.  I thank you so much for coming to my blog with your sweet comments of support.  It's very much appreciated!  Take good care!

Hugs,
Maria

Hi, there!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Release Rewind!  Today we combine previously released stamps/dies with newly released stamps/dies.  I have a wedding theme today with my two cards using the new Congrats stamp/die set!

And, here is my first card...

For my card, I started with  a white card base and paired it with a die cut heart from the set Sweet Cuts-With Love.  The wedding dress and suit is from the set Planner Series: Wedding.  The congrats die, Sweet Cuts-Congrats, was die cut three times with white, black, and silver paper.  The banner is from the set Sweet Cuts-Be Happy.  The flowers are from the set Pretty Posies.  Ribbon (Bubblegum)

My second card shows the same die cut heart, congrats die/stamp, ribbon, and banner.  I just love the delicate doily heart!  So, I couldn't resist using it again for this card, too.  The stamped rings are from the set Planner Series: Wedding.  They were colored with copics and a silver gel pen.

And, here is my second card...

Hi, Friends!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties Release Party!  We are celebrating Paper Sweeties 6th Anniversary!  It's hard to believe that it has been six years!  I've been with Paper Sweeties for five years and have enjoyed creating with the darling sweet stamps and dies every month!  I'm always so inspired by my talented teammates, so I hope that you get inspired, too, with our awesome birthday celebration this month...enjoy!

The new stamp/die this set month is Congrats and it is available today for purchase!

The new set has many wonderful sentiments to help congratulate for nearly any occasion.  The sentiment from the set that i used for my card was stamped on the second square as seen below...

For my card, I started with  a navy card base and paired it with strips of paper colored with copics for the borders.  Madison is ready for the birthday celebration!  She is dressed in her party dress and party hat, which is from the set Wishing You.  The balloons are from the same set.  The birthday sentiment stamped on the other two squares is from the set Planner Series: Celebrate.  The frames were made using Sweet Cuts-Square Scallop Frames.  Sequins(Bubblegum) along with twine to finish the card.

Also, I made a little gift box to go along with the birthday card...

The gift box was made using Sweet Cuts-Treat Box.  The cupcakes and sentiment is from the set Sweet Treats(Snow Time Add:on).  The sequins and ribbon (Bubblegum) along with twine to finish the birthday gift box.

Hi, friends!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties August Release Sneak Peeks!  This month Paper Sweeties is celebrating their 6th Anniversary!  So stay tuned for some specials and the awesome birthday celebration goodies!

Debbie is releasing a new stamp/die set called Congrats!  So many sentiments are included in this awesome set.  My niece, Chelsea, recently passed the state boards for her nursing license.  And, she has a new job in the neuroscience department at a hospital.  I'm very proud of her!

Here is the card that I made for her...

I started with a white card base and paired it with Doodlebug paper.  I stamped the stethoscope and hearts.  The stethoscope is from the set Sorry You're Sick.  The hearts are from the set Stand Add on:Fresh Baked.  Madison colored with copics is in her nurse uniform ready to start her work day!  Her uniform top is from the set Feel Better Soon  and her pants are from the set I Pick You.  Nuvo drops(Strawberry) were added for the buttons on the uniform.  (Bubblegum) sequins for added interest.  The new congrats die was die cut three times and colored with copics.  The die and sentiment is from the new set Congrats, which will be available tomorrow to purchase.

And, here is another view of my card...

I'm glad I'm passing the nurse hat or shall I say stethoscope over to my niece for I'm a retired nurse.  I never wore a nurse's cap except for my school photo.  I have lots of fond memories of being a nurse and lifelong nurse friends. Now it's time for a new kid on the block....Chelsea!  She will make an excellent nurse for she is strong, kind, and very caring!

As I mentioned above, I wore a nurse cap for my school photo.  The nursing chair wanted us all to wear a cap with our nurse photo, but some rebelled against wearing one.  Many felt no need to since no one wears caps on the job anymore.  So, about half wore them for their photo.  I wore one because I thought it would make me look more like a nurse for the photo.  Here is a peek of my school nursing photo...

Celebrate!

Hi, there!

I recently received my alcohol lift-ink pad in the mail.  I do love the technique  and results achieved after making two cards!  Two in one cards...so fun! I'm entering my card over at Seize The Birthday

I already had an alcohol ink background made from several months ago and inked up two stamps.  And, here is my first card...

The bird stamp is from Impression Obsession and the circle stamp is from SU.  Rubber stamps seem to work the best.  I watched videos from Tim Holtz and Jennifer McGuire.  This card will be going to my friend, Linda, who loves the color purple.

Next up, is my second card.  The ink lifted from the alcohol inked panel above was then stamped onto a white card base.  I thought...wow...this really works...ha!  Wonderful color was picked up from the first card!  Satin ribbon bows, gems, and die cut sentiments from Sugar Pea to finish the card.  And, here is my second card...

Well, I need to make a baby card next, so back to the craft table.  Hope you all are having a great week!  Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria
