Happy Father's Day!

Hi, there!

It's a beautiful June day today...perfect!  The sun is shining and it's not raining...yeah!  The farmers haven't been able to get into the fields due to so much rain.  I pray and hope that we have some great weather for them very soon!

Anyways, I'm here to share with you a couple masculine cards.  The first one is for my husband for Father's Day.  I'm entering the card over at Cardz 4 Guyz!

For my card, I started with a white card base and paired it with lime green.  The background was made using distress inks of Broken China, Twisted Citron, and Mustard Seed.  The suit jackets were colored with copics and placed in a scalloped frame.  The images(Best Dad) and scalloped frames(Sweet Cuts-Rectangle Scallop Frames) are from Paper Sweeties.  Dots to finish the card.

Next up, is the card for my brother-in-law, Ron.  His birthday was June 1st.  He received the card and my sis said that he was grinning from ear to ear.  I was happy to hear that he loved the card.  After he retired from his job, he was a charter boat captain.  He did it for several years.  He continues to enjoy fishing and relaxing at their cottage on the lake.

For my card, I started with a white card base and paired it with green and yellow.  The background panel was one that I had in my stash.  I'm guessing I used broken china and salty ocean distress inks.  The fish and sign images are from Your Next Stamp.  The captain image is from Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps.  If you look closely, you can see that I wrote Capt. Ron on the hat.  Dots to finish the card.

Ok, well that's all for now.  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by today!  I hope you have a great weekend!  Take care, hugs!

  4. Your card for Captain Ron steals the show today, Maria! I can understand why he was grinning from ear to ear! It's the BEST! Not that your first card isn't an amazing card for hubby (in my favorite colors) for Father's Day! I have heard from my sisters in Iowa that the farmers there haven't been able to get their crops in either. Hopefully that will all change very soon! Hugs, Darnell
