Happy Anniversary!

Hi, Friends!

How are you all doing?  I hope you are staying cool.  It will be another hot day here in NW Ohio in the 90's.  I'm looking forward to a pool party at my sister's to celebrate her 60th birthday this Friday.  I do have a birthday card made for her, but it will be posted for next month for a DT assignment.  Anyways, today I'd like to share with you a card I made for a friend who is celebrating their 60th anniversary on 6-30.

I jumped on the hot foil band wagon.  I told myself I wasn't gonna do it, but I saw a good sale on the hot foil system.  I had to experiment a couple of times to get it just right, but I just love the results!  The frame and sentiment is new from Spellbinder's.  The flowers and numbers are from TE.  I added a couple strips of glitter paper to finish the card.  I'm entering this card over at  NBUS.

I just want to share with you a photo of my great nephew, Ethan.  We are so proud of him and all his hard work with his ballet training.  He has been accepted into the Royal Ballet Summer Program in London to perform and to train.  How exciting for this young man!

Thank you so much for dropping by today!  Take care and stay cool!

Hugs!

  3. Happy Birthday to your sister, Maria, and happy 60th anniversary to your friend! She will love this elegant and fitting golden design! So you went for the gold-foiling system, eh? I saw it in action in Oregon ... very beautiful results and very tempting!

How exciting to see your talented great-nephew excel at ballet and have this marvelous opportunity in London. Stunning photo! Thank you for sharing with us and for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell (I'm so behind, but I'm glad to see this post because I remembered you were going off to visit the National Parks in your new camper. I'm so glad you weren't caught in the heart-breaking flooding that's going on around Yellowstone.❤ Hope you get cooler temps soon; same here, ugh.)

  4. Happy anniversary to the couple who's been married 60 years! Wow, what an amazing milestone! I'm glad you jumped on board with the foiling technique because your card looks elegant and festive too. And a very happy birthday to your sister as well. What an outstanding photo of your great nephew! Congrats to him on pursuing a wonderful career in ballet, and judging by this photo, he has the talent to make it! Impressive!

  5. Happy 60th to your Sister and to the couple who are celebrating their 60th Anniversary. (Just 4 years to ours!) They will love it and treasure it Maria. As for the heat, we had 3 very hot days, getting to 80F in the UK, just wonderful, but back to rain now! and temps of 58F. OH! Well that's the British weather for you hahaha

  6. Forgot to say, Congratulations to your Nephew what a fabulous achievement for him. That is an amazing jump, he looks like Rudolph Nureyev. I wish him the very Best of Luck in his career. I hoped one of my nephews would have gone on with his ballet, but gave it up at 14 years old. He was good too, such a shame.

  7. Hot here, too, but should cool down next week. Beautifully elegant anniversary card, Maria! All the foiling projects do tempt me, but I pulled out my old laminator & Deco foil which satisfied me again for now--haha! Your great nephew must be incredibly talented! Can't imagine a career in ballet! I took one class because a friend enjoyed it & barely survived--haha! Hope Ethan continues to do well!
