Get Well Soon!

Hi, Friends!

It certainly feels like summer around here...hot and humid!  Whew!  I'll be glad when it cools down.  My husband planted a few tomato plants and they could use some rain.  We may get some rain today or tomorrow.  He is proud that we already see several tomatoes on the plants.  I told him he's becoming a master gardener!:-)  My other little member of the family, Sheila, has been busy hunting rabbits.  We had one that fools her every time.  It is so fun to watch!  Not much else is happening around here except for getting our deck repainted.  We decided to hire someone to do it.  My husband's knees just aren't what they used to be after having had knee surgery.  But, isn't it difficult to depend on someone else?  Maybe I'm turning into an old crochety woman.  People just don't have the manners now days to call when they don't plan to show up.  I hope and pray that it gets done soon because I might have a get-together with my sisters and having the deck done would be great!

Ok, off my soapbox now for I am here to show you a card that I made for my BIL.  We plan to take a meal and visit him today since he had triple bypass surgery.  He is progressing well.  It will be wonderful to see him and my sis for a visit!

I used this wonderful stamp image before from Sweet n' Sassy.  It seems to be a great stamp for guys who like to fish and enjoy time on the lake.  For my card, I embossed the image with black embossing powder and used my zig markers to water color.  The sentiment is from PI.  Stickles were added to the water  for a little shine.

Ok, that's all for today.  I hope you are doing well in your part of the world!  Take care, hugs!!

Dies R Us Challenge July 1, 2021!(Anything Goes!)

Hi, there!

Happy July 1st and it's time for another Dies R Us Challenge!  All you have to do is use a brand of die that Dies R Us sells...easy peasy!  So, please come and join the fun and have a chance to win a gift certificate...enjoy creating!

For today's card, I made a patriotic birthday card for a friend's husband!  His birthday is on July 4th!  Our town plans to have fireworks this year over the river.  I'm looking forward to all the festivities!  I hope all of you in the USA have a fun safe July 4th!

For my card, I started with a white card base.  The Lawn Fawn stitched stars were die cut onto the card.  The dies do not cut completely through.  But, that's ok, for it did make a card that I'm please with for Ted's birthday.  I colored the outline of the stars with copic markers.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle.  The frame was die cut using IO Checkered Frames.  The paper that I used is from Doodlebug and twine to finish the card.

The inside sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy  and the firecracker sticker is from Doodlebug.

All dies that were used for my card with links are listed below.  I hope you create a project using dies and join us for the challenge!

Dies R Us has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

My teammates have some fabulous inspiration for you today.  Sit back, relax, and take a look.... (you can click on their name to go to their personal blogs and get more detailed information about each project)

Happy Anniversary!

Hi, Friends!

I hope you are doing well on this fine Wednesday afternoon!  It's been quiet on the blog here because we were away on vacation.  We did come back early due to not enjoying ourselves at the B&B.  I won't go into details, but the owner did not meet our expectations.  But, I will say that we enjoyed shopping, a beach day, and beautiful scenery!  We were going to go kayaking, but the weather was just so hot and humid.  It is quite humid here in NW Ohio today even after a rain.  I hear my friends have it very warm in the pacific NW.  I hope it cools down there very soon for you!

Anyways, I'd like to share with you a card I made for my sis and her husband.  I know that they will be looking forward to celebrating their anniversary soon.  He just had triple bypass surgery last week.  I kept in contact with my sis every day and Ron is progressing very well.

The MFT images on the card were colored with copics.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle.  Heart dots and ribbon to finish the card.

We called about picking up our dog, Sheila, today since we came home early.  They are so sweet for they will work her in with her grooming and call us when we can pick her up.  I'll be happy to see the little sweetie!

Ok, that's all for now in my world.  Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Take care and have a wonderful day!

Hugs!!

New Home!

Hi, Friends!

I hope you are doing well on this summer day!  Storms blew threw here a couple days ago.  We didn't have any damage.  But, in Michigan that's not too far from us, there was a tornado that damaged an elderly couple's home.  I'm glad that they were not hurt.  It's a cooler day here and it may only reach about 70.  It's a welcome relief from the humidity.

Anyways, I'm here to share with you a couple cards.  The above card is for a friend who recently moved.  All images and sentiment are from Paper Sweeties.  I colored the images with copics.  The background was made using distress inks.  Twine to finish the card.

Also, I'm happy to report that our dog, Sheila, is back to her normal peppy self.  She loves to hunt for rabbits.  I believe we have a few that live under our deck.  The first thing she does is try to look for them when I take her out.  She's a silly rabbit hunter, lol!

Next up, is a card I made for my friend's husband who just had knee surgery.

The tree images are from SU.  I inked the stamp and then sprayed it with water.  The mountains and water were hand drawn and water colored.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Well, that's all for now until next time.  Enjoy your day and take care!

Hugs!
