My Girly/Frilly Card

A closer view.

Photo inspiration

Thanks so much for taking time to view my card today!  Hope you are having a good week! TGIF!  It's time for another challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room.  I knew the perfect background paper to use for this card.  It is from Crate Paper.  Such pretty little roses!  So, this is my girly frilly card.  When I finished the card, I thought uh oh is this too over the top girly/frilly? :-)  But, that's what I love about shabby cards.  It gives me a chance to add all the fun girly things such as trim, doilies, buttons, ribbon, and gems!  And, it's fun experimenting and learning at the same time.  I hand sewed the trim around the card.  The doily was distressed with antique linen and added pearl cotton.  I added tulle behind the doily.  Gems, buttons, and ribbon placed to finish off the card.  Well, I better scoot here.  I need to clean the house and prepare some food for dinner tonight before the concert.  We are going to see Keith Urban with my sister and brother-in-law.  I am so looking forward to it!  Thanks for visiting here today, take care, hugs!:-))

  4. Well it's not to girly or frilly for me :) I just love this. You sewed the trim by hand? Wow!
I think it's spot on the challenge and the result is a handmade jaw dropper. You really have outdone yourself!
I hope you had a wonderful time at the concert. Have a lovely weekend!
    Hugs!

  6. what a chic and adorable girly, girl card, Maria! How fun! Love the round shape and all the pretty feminine touches. Your hand-stitched trim around the edges is beautiful. Really love the pop of color from the one green button, too.

  9. If you feel like doing a girly frilly card, do it up! LOL I like the way you pleated the ribbon all the way around, and my fave piece is that gorgeous frame in the middle. So pretty! Hope things are going well for you and the family, Maria. I think of you often!
