Happy Halloween!

Hi, Friends!

Long time no see here on my blog for posting anything.  It's been busy around here.  I volunteered to make 70 kits for mission Sunday for next week.  Christmas cards will be sent to nursing home residents.   I put my time to great use when I went to the craft crop this past weekend by doing a lot of stamping and trimming out images and sentiments for the cards.  I'm nearly done, yeah!  I'll show you a sneak peek of them later.  We had the apple festival here this weekend, too...perfect weather!

I'm here today to show you Halloween cards made for my sisters.   I had my dog Sheila in mind and found a darling chihuahua image from LaLa Land.  I also used Lawn Fawn images and a cloud stencil from Simon Says to create my cards.  The first card did not photograph very well because I added Wink of Stella to the images and dies, but it shows Sheila, my little princess, lol!  I'm entering a card over at Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge.

For the above card, Sheila is in her mummy costume.  She certainly was ready a few weeks ago when she had her bandages on after having had surgery.  But, she is back to "normal"!  And, she is excited about a new fur addition to the family!

After my last post with my Halloween card with a black cat, I mentioned that we had a black cat at one time.  I said I miss Blackie.  I guess you have to be careful what you say.  My husband said he found a black cat in our yard recently.  We believe someone dropped it off.  We get strays at times and that is how we got our first cat, Misty.  She was black and white like this cat.  We think this cat is a male and have an appointment this week to take it to the vet.  I asked on FB if it is anyone's cat.  We were 50/50 about keeping it.  I don't know how old it is, but it is a tiny thing and so very cute and friendly.  We still don't have a name for it yet...maybe Boots...but still thinking on it.

Here is the little cutie...

Ok, like I've said before it seems feast or famine for my blog lately.  I have a few more posts towards the end of the week with DT assignments.  Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by!  Have a wonderful week!  Hugs!!

  3. Your sister's cards are adorable, Maria! Love that Sheila inspired them! Your new furbaby is so cute! Would you believe, our neighbors just "adopted" a kitten that stayed around their house for weeks & no one claimed. She turned out to be He, so his name changed from Lucy to Louie! Their old girl cat is not happy! Hope your little one gets a clean bill of health!

  6. Sheila looks cute as a queen or disguised as a mummy. Your sisters will enjoy these. Good for you making 70 kits. That's a lot of time consuming work for a great cause. I'm glad Sheila is back to her healthy self so she can play with her new friend. My son acquired two cats that just started hanging around too.
