CCCB #227

Hi there!

Happy Friday to you!  I saw the challenge over at City Crafter Challenge and thought I'd join in on the fun!  I love the inspiration photo with those sweet colorful butterflies!  For the challenge, we are to use vellum, glossy accents, acrylic, or clear items.  I used vellum and glossy accents for my creation.

Here is my card...

For my card, I started with a cream card base and paired it with MME papers.  I die cut the label and covered it with vellum.  The butterflies were punched and covered with vellum and gems added.  I stamped the butterfly and added glossy accents.  And, for the final touch of vellum a flourish was die cut.  Lastly, gorgeous sheer ribbon given to me by Greta was tied in a bow with button and twine.  Thank you, Greta...love this ribbon!:-)

Well, that's all for now.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Thankful for you...

Hi there,

Just thought I'd pop in quick to share a card with you that I made for the The Mixed Media Card Challenge.  Such pretty colors of the leaves in the inspiration photo!  The leaves here in NW Ohio are just beginning to change.  Fall is one of my favorite times of year.  I love the cooler temps and the lovely fall foliage!

And, here is my card...

I started with a kraft card base and added black.  I got out my Tim Holtz distress inks and sponged on colors of squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, rusty hinge, and barn door.  I sprayed it with water and let it dry.  The leaves were stamped with StazOn ink.  It is my favorite new fall stamp set from Precious Remembrance!  The leaves look so real...don't you think?  I distressed the cheese cloth and sentiment with antique linen.  Black thread for interest and dimension for the final touch.  Well, back to my laundry and getting out my fall decorations.  Hope you have a wonderful day...take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Dies R Us September Challenge (Team A) "Back to School"

Hi there!

It's time once again for Dies R Us Challenge!  The theme this month for Team A is "Back to School"!  I can't believe it's time for all the kids to go back to school!  Whew, the summer just flew by!

Ok, friends, get out those fabulous fun dies and have fun making a school themed card!  You have until September 13th to enter.  The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to the Dies R Us store!  So, come on over and join in on the fun!

For my card, I started with a brown card base.  It was then paired with Simple Stories paper.  The gold colored panel was embossed.  I used a digital stamp from Deasy Designs for the black board and sentiment.  The A+ and ruler are PTI stamps.  The owl and coordinating die, circle numbers, and September die are from Taylored Expressions.  The Globe is from Die-Versions.  And, the embossing folder is from Darice.  Glossy accents were added to the apple.  Twine and paper clip to finish off the card.

The dies listed above can be purchased at the Dies R Us Store.
And, here is the list of dies that I used today...
