Monogram Madness!

Hi there!

How are you doing on this first week of January? It's very cold and windy here in NW Ohio. The snow is lovely, but difficult to drive in at times with the drifting snow. But, hey, it's winter and only a few more months until spring!:-) I just wanted to share with you today a project I made for the The Shabby Tea Room One must follow the colors in the photo and include a monogram. This sweet little project is to sit in my craft room. I'm thinking of making another one for my niece who is due in May. So, I'll have to wait a bit until she chooses a name for the baby. Here is the inspiration photo we were to follow:

For the challenge, I took a cream colored wooden plaque and distressed the edges with tea dye ink. White paper was added over the plaque with dotted vellum paper to soften the look. Some pretty My Mind's Eye papers behind the cloth doily. Another doily added for interest with monogram. And, the sweet Melissa Frances resin frame was embellished with flowers, leaves, and pearls. The satin ribbon is recycled from a Christmas gift, which I thought was perfect for this project!:-) Here is another view...

I thank you for visiting today! Stay warm and have a wonderful weekend, hugs!

  8. Oh! My! Gosh! This is mindblowingly gorgeous!!! I don't even know where to start! I love the way you built up the layers, starting and ending with a frame, the colors are beautifully feminine (I adore that touch of light green), and those doilies are amazing. Do you make all the beautiful crocheted doilies you use in your projects? You know, if your niece sees this, you're going to HAVE to make one for her. ;) ~Hugs
