Hi, Friends!
I'm popping in to share with you a card I made for my brother-in-law's birthday! He turns 60 tomorrow! I had fun using some new products that I got recently from The Greetery. I'm entering this card over at Simon Says Challenge.
I started with a white card base and used DO inks for the background. I die cut several of the crepe paper streamers and thought why not create some depth by use the negative part for a stencil. The crepe paper streamers and balloons are new, which are from The Greetery. The scallop border is from MFT. The numbers are from Crafter's Companion and the stars were made using a punch. A simple card for me, but I like how it turned out. I hope Paul, my brother-in-law likes it, too.
Well, not much else is going on here. We took the last of our Christmas decorations down. It has been cold, gray, and damp here in NW Ohio. It certainly would be great to see the sun some time soon. If you have it where you are, please send some this way!:-)
Things in our world sure have been crazy, right?! It is so very sad. I pray for the family and friends who lost loved ones in Washington, D.C. yesterday. I'm wishing you all peace and happiness. And, please take good care! I appreciate all of you who visit here, thank you so much!
Hugs!
Maria
What a lovely card, Maria and how great that it could be used for either sex! I love your clever stenciling too and the ink blending is spot on.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and I hope you had a good Christmas.
Stay safe,
Hugs

Great idea to make the stencil & love those balloons! I'm sure he'll love it! Yesterday was a horrific day for the US with a mob of thugs breaching our capitol building. Hopefully that was a wake up call for people who've been denying the danger of what has happened since Trump was elected. I'm trying to be hopeful for the future.
ReplyDeleteClever use of the die cuts, it looks great, love the garlands and the balloons, of course he will love it.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned Ohio! I have family there! visited in 1974! an age ago.
Keep Safe

This card screams "party" to me with the crepe paper streamers and glimmer balloons. It would sure be nice to have a party with friends and family. It is hard to believe what happened in Washington and that people got that far. This is not the start of the new year I had pictured.
ReplyDeleteThose streamers look so joyous and I like the way you used different sizes and heights of balloon - lovely card!
ReplyDeleteThis card has festive written all over it! I love the shades of blue with the glittery silver - it makes for a great birthday celebration!
ReplyDeleteThings are certainly crazy! Just when we thought it couldn't get worse huh? At least you are safe and I'm sure your BIL will be thrilled with this terrific card! Stay safe... Hugs
ReplyDeleteThis is a party on a card, Maria! I love all the shades of blue in the streamers and balloons and how well it works with the glittery silver! Happy New Year to you! I've been meaning to thank you for your encouragement about my thyroid surgery. Still not myself yet, but hoping to get the medication right soon.
ReplyDeleteI was about to say the same thing as Kara! It looks like a party on a card with balloons and streamers. Great card and your BIL will love it.
ReplyDeleteI pray and wish for peace in the US, too. Take care.
Maria, great card for your BIL. I'm sure he will love it. We had such a stormy day yesterday, torrential downpours and wind all day and into the evening. Today we have lovely sunshine. It is so nice to see the sun. Hope all is well with you in all of the chaos in this country.
