Happy New Year! Wishing you a new year filled with hope, good health, and happiness!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We had a small celebration with our son, his friend, Ethan, and our son's new dog, Maverick. I'm not sure that Sheila was too keen on another dog here for the visit, lol! Maverick managed to take two ornaments off the tree. In fact, while I was in the kitchen, I heard a strange sound. I thought I better go check on Maverick even though my husband was supposed to be watching him. He was in the same room with him. Crunch...crunch...Maverick was crunching on an ornament, which was a bird with twigs. He got a few twigs off before I got it away from him. My husband thought he was chewing on one of his toys, ha!
Maverick (Born 8-27-20)
Above is a sweet photo of him behaving in the kitchen with me, lol! He is pretty good...just a pup. A beautiful dog. And, looking at him makes us miss our Shadow(German Shepherd) that we lost two years ago.
Another highlight of Christmas was our son playing the organ and piano at Christmas Eve service. It was extra special to have our organist, Sara, play the piano while Jeremy played the organ. We all had our masks on and we were socially distanced in the church. It is also very special to have all the candles lit while we sing Silent Night in the dark.

And, the other reason you are here....
It's time for another Dies R Us Challenge! We won't be having theme challenges this year. All you have to do is use a brand of die that Dies R Us sells...easy peasy! So, please come and join the fun and have a chance to win a gift certificate...enjoy creating!
I decided to make a shaker birthday card for my friend, Pat. I started by inking the background with distress inks of salty ocean, cracked pistachio, and seedless preserves. The snowflakes were embossed using a stamp set from Newton's Nook. The cute snowman image is from the same stamp set, which is from Newton's Nook. The frame was die cut using Lawn Fawn-Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables. The die cut sentiments are from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Dots from Pink & Main and sequins (Robin Egg) from Paper Sweeties to finish the card.
The inside sentiment is from SU. All dies that were used for my card with links are listed below. I hope you create a project using dies and join us for the challenge!
Dies R Us has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts.
It will ship to both the US and Canada. Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different. Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!
My teammates have some fabulous inspiration for you today. Sit back, relax, and take a look.... (you can click on their name to go to their personal blogs and get more detailed information about each project)

Loved your pictures of your dogs and your family. Our dog is 2 1/2, and he finally left the tree alone. Finally, no crunched ornaments! Your wintery card is adorable! I love a good snowman!ReplyDelete
Thanks for sharing your Christmas pictures. Maverick is a beautiful dog and oh, those big paws! I love the festive pajamas and they look so cozy warm. Cute snowman and such a pretty cardinal. Happy New Year, Maria.ReplyDelete
So fun seeing your Christmas pictures, Maria! What a beautiful puppy, but I don't blame Sheila not being thrilled--haha! Oh that hubby--not looking to see what he was crunching--haha! Super sweet winter card using some fantastic dies! Shakers are a favorite card of mine, I am always impressed when I see one! Fabulous pictures too, I am so happy you shared with us! Laughing at the pups antics, you wouldn't even believe what all our pup chewed up when we first got him, tell him to hang in there he has a long chewy road ahead lol!ReplyDelete
Thank you for the long, newsy, and photo-filled post, Maria! It's always wonderful to see crafty buddies with their families! Congratulations to Jeremy for his new "baby" Maverick. Beautiful winter card. Love the shaker element. You have a beautiful family, thank you for sharing your photos. It must be a Maverick thing - we have a Basenji called Maverick. The first few Christmas were extra "fun" with him around. Sweetest dog who doesn't listen worth diddly :-) Wouldn't trade him for the world :-)ReplyDelete
