Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge-April 2016!

Hi, Friends!

It's time once again for the Paper Sweeties Monthly Challenge!  I just love the beautiful inspiration photo.  Wouldn't you love to have that gorgeous wreath on your front door!

A $20 gift certificate goes to one lucky winner of the challenge!  This is my second post for today, so please scroll down to see my card made for Dies R Us Challenge!

 And, here is my card...

For my card, I started with a cream card base and added a rustic panel from Simple Stories.  The wreath was made by covering it in twine.  I wrapped the first layer of twine one way and the second layer the opposite way.  It gave it some texture and dimension.  The leaves are from the stamp set Bee Happy and dies cut with coordinating die Sweet Cuts-Bee Happy. The seam binding ribbonFrosting is from Paper Sweeties.  The cream twine is from PTI and the brown twine is from American Crafts. Candy dots are from SU.  And, the sentiment is from the stamp set Live Love Grow.  Please hop along to see what my talented teammates have created!  We welcome a new designer to the team...Lisa Bzibziak...welcome!!!

Dies R Us Challenge-use scallops-Team A!

Hi, there!

Happy April 1st!  And, it's time for the Dies R Us Challenge!  The theme is use scallops!  I made the above card for my friend, Nancy, who will turn 60 in a couple of months!

For my card, I was inspired to use the beautiful birthday cake stamp from Paper Sweeties!   I added liquid pearls to make it look like yummy frosting on the cake!  The balloons and ribbon are from Paper Sweeties, also.  The background paper is from BoBunny.  And, the pearls are from Recollections.  All dies are listed below and available at Dies R Us!

And, remember there will be a $10 winner for the challenge!  There are so many choices at Dies R Us store!  And, new items are added all the time!  I'd love to see your project in the challenge...happy creating!

Shine Bright!

Hi, Friends!

I made a quick card this evening for my son to celebrate his job promotion.   The smiley faces are just too darn cute!  I'm entering the card over at City Crafter where the theme for the week is whitewash.  We are to use white paint, ink, pen or spray on our project.  And, here is my card...

For my card, I started with a white card base and added a silver border.  I painted the blue panel with white acrylic paint and sprayed it with vanilla shimmer.  I die cut the stars in silver and place a stamped vellum star over it.  Dots to finish off the card. Well, that's all for now.  Hope you're having a great week!  Thanks so much for dropping by!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria

Thank you!

Hi, Friends!

I hope you had a wonderful blessed Easter!

I'm just popping in to share with you a commissioned card I made for a friend who wanted a thank you card.  She said her friend has a black lab and loves to hunt.  I'm not sure if I'll redo this card since I already redid it once, ha!  I think I got carried away with the sun rays, so I hid it some with the twine.  Isn't it something how some cards come together so easy and some don't...oh well.

I'm entering this card over at  AAA Cards.

For my card, I started with a white card base and used distress ink for the clouds and sun rays(mermaid lagoon, mustard seed, and squeezed lemonade).  The sun ray was made using a Tim Holtz stencil and a couple of punches and one stamp from Paper Sweeties.  The city scene stamp is from TE.  The tree dies are from Spellbinder's and the hills were made using a die from Lawn Fawn.  The deer are from IO and the black lab is from DRU.  And, the sentiment is from PTI.  I applied Wink of Stella on trees, deer, dog, and sun for interest.

Ok, friends...thank you so much for taking the time to drop by!  I hope you have a wonderful day!  Take care!

Hugs,
Maria
