Congrats Grad!

Hi, Friends!

I hope you are doing well on this fine Monday afternoon.  We are getting a shower right now, which I'm not surprised for it is a hot humid day here.  So, I hope the shower cools things off for us.  Also, I thank you for your kind words, prayers, and support for our dog, Sheila.  I'm still trying to remain hopeful for a good report.  I haven't heard back yet from the vet, maybe tomorrow.  I'll be so happy once she gets the staples out.  I know that she has to be uncomfortable.  And, it's not fun with her having to wear the cone.  We do take it off her when she's sitting in the chair with me.  But, she's a trooper...the little sweetie!

***Update:  Sheila's report came back cancerous, but they think they got it all.  No lymph node involvement.  So, happy news today...praise God!  Thank you for all the support and prayers!  It is appreciated!

I've been keeping busy with other things such as making cards, etc.  I even managed to get out to a craft crop with friends last Saturday and make birthday cards and thinking of you cards for my stash.  It was great to get out and see many friends who I haven't seen in ages.

The above card is for my husband's niece who graduated recently.  All stamps and dies are from Sunny Studio.  Her school colors are black and orange.  At first I thought, I hope this doesn't look like a Halloween card, lol!  Anyways, I hope she likes the card.

Next up is a card for my son who recently got a job promotion.  He works for Nationwide and works in the special analytics department.    And, here is the card...

The frame is from Paper Sweeties.  The die cut stars are from Sweet 'n Sassy.  The dot circles are from PTI.  And, the sentiment is from SU.

I do have other cards that I made, but I'll post them another time.  Well, it's time to prepare dinner, so I'll stop here for now.

Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Take care!

Hugs!!

  1. I love how you've designed the graduation card and the wise owl is perfect. Striking card for your son and I love the layering with the die cuts and it sure is a celebratory card. Both cards are so thoughtful and both are fabulous.
Sending hugs to Sheila and hope all goes well? x.

  2. The graduating owl in the tree is such a cute way to congratulate a new grad, and fun too! What a great shaker card for your son's promotion at work too - I love the colors and stars for a festive look! I hope your precious pooch recovers nicely too. I know how difficult it is to watch your dog go through something like that and hopefully it will all be behind you soon.

  6. So glad Sheila will be ok.

Fabulous cards and congratulations to both recipients. My blue colour-loving heart was drawn to your beautiful congratulations shaker card for your son! Your son must have loved it. And the grad card does not look like a Halloween card! I still have to make a graduation card for a niece this year too… her school colours are gold and black.

  9. Oh how fortunate you found the lump when you did, Maria. So glad Sheila won't need further treatment. Seems like more & more cancer in dogs. I love using school colors for graduation cards--bet she loved it! Congrats to your son & what a great design for his card! Love all the layered stars & fun background in the shaker!
