Happy Birthday!

Hi, Friends!

I hope all is well your way!  We have rainy cold weather today.  So, it was a good day to spend the afternoon making birthday cards for December.  I'm entering over at Simon Says Challenge.(Christmas or winter/festive)

My first card will be going to my friend, Dorothy.  All cards were made with SU poinsettia stamps/dies.  The sentiments vary, which are from PTI and SU.

I just couldn't resist purchasing the lovely poinsettia stamp set and design papers from SU this year.  For this card, I did add a scallop border that was die cut using a die from MFT.  The sentiment is from PTI.  Gems and twine added to finish the card.

Next up,

This card will be going to my sis for her birthday.  I went with a buffalo plaid theme for her birthday this year.

On this card, I gold embossed the poinsettia.  The design paper is from MME.  The sentiment is from PTI.  Gems and ribbon to finish this second card.

Last up,

This card will go to my friend, Peggi.  I used to work with her at the hospital where I worked.  She was the administrative assistant.  She was so sweet and organized.  I miss her and my good nurse friends, Nola, Mary, and Michelle.  But, once this crazy covid virus is over with I'm sure we will get together and meet for dinner.

I'm sure they could all pass for Christmas cards, but they are needed for birthday cards.  For this last card, I used the dies that embossed the poinsettia and leaves.  I did case the design from the SU Christmas catalog.  The background was stamped with the pine bough stamp in DO rustic wilderness.  The sentiment is from SU.  Love the very pretty beaded pearls from SU, also.  Pearls and gold thread bow to finish the card.  Which one is your favorite?  I guess I am leaning towards the last card because I love all the pretty layers!

Ok, friends, that's all for now.  May you have a blessed week and a wonderful Thanksgiving for all of you in the USA!

Take care, hugs!!

  1. The poinsettias work so well as Birthday cards for December Maria x. The poinsettias in all three thoughtful and fabulous cards look absolutely beautiful x. I love the tonal effect on card number three but you had me at 'Plaid' on card number two x. Lets hope it won't be too much longer before you can meet your friends again for Dinner and a catch up x. Stay safe and Happy Thanksgiving x.

  2. Your sister and friends will be so pleased with these beautiful cards. I love the poinsettias on all of them. Missing everyone is so hard but it gives us something to look forward to when we can get together again. I hope that is soon.

  3. These cards all turned out so pretty for winter birthdays, and I love the different ways to use that pretty poinsettia! Hopefully soon we'll ALL be able to go enjoy dinner with our friends, family and co-workers once again!

  4. Oh! Maria, I love the poinsettia used for birthday cards, they are in December, when all the poinsettias are in the shops to be bought. (in the UK). All of them are beautiful such great designs and colours. I couldn't give you a favourite, I think they are all fabulous.

  6. They are all beautiful Maria... I love the poinsettia for a winter birthday. Glad you are doing okay... thinking of you

  7. I love poinsettias, but hadn't thought to use them for Dec BD cards! Love all of your cards, Maria! My favorite is the 3rd one as it's so elegant with the neutral color & pearls!

  8. Love how you stretched this lovely poinsettia to create three beautiful December birthday cards! Would have never thought to do that. The last pearly one is my favourite, too... so unique and unexpected.
